A masterpiece of an action film, that is not only a modern day classic, but one of the greatest action/ drama films of all time. George Miller is truly a legend in the industry.

I don't know I'm so enthralled by this universe that if you tell me the Doof Warrior is the post apocalypse equivalent of a drummer boy I will ask no further questions.

Furiosa is amazing, but come on, she's not even close to being one of the first female action hero's. Are we supposed to conveniently forget about Ripley, Sarah Connor, Alice from Resident Evil, Beatrix Kiddo from Kill Bill, Catwoman, Buffy, Fox from Wanted, Jen Yu from Crouching Tiger " ", Lucy from Lucy, Mallory Kane from Haywire, Mei from House of Flying Daggers, Rey from Star Wars etc. I mean sure it's not even between the sexes in terms of action hero's, but generally men do tend to enjoy action movies more.

Kevin McLaughlin No, you're not. But, she is the first in this type of movie: Mad Max.

I felt like when the interviewer said that George was like "...." but didn't want to elaborate on that because he'd have to stop to explain that it wasn't correct to this dude. Don't blame him.

Just say you what you really mean: "I wanted Mel Gibson there for Tom is objectively bad to me."

Of course we'd all rather have Mad "Mel" Max (& yes, I'm speaking for all rational people who love & hold on to continuity for dear life,) but Tommy-Boy's grunts & growls were servicable enough. Then again, by all accounts ol' Tom-Tom was a bit of moody method primadonna on set, while Mel, though intense before the camera, is known to be a wild, fly-by-the-seat-of-his-pants, prankster stick of dynamite. However, situations being as they were, it was what it was. George made do, & made it gloriously, magnificently, mad-ass, kick-ass, bad-ass metal mayhem as possible, & we and ages hence are the benifactors.
