King Kong is a 2005 epic monster adventure film co-written, produced, and directed by Peter Jackson. A remake of the 1933 film of the same name, the film stars Naomi Watts, Jack Black, Adrien Brody, and, through motion capture, Andy Serkis as the title character. Set in 1933, King Kong tells the story of an overly ambitious filmmaker who coerces his cast and hired ship crew to travel to the mysterious Skull Island. There they encounter Kong, a legendary giant gorilla, whom they capture and take to New York City.
The film's budget climbed from an initial $150 million to a then-record-breaking $207 million. It was released on December 14, 2005 in Germany and on December 16 in the United States, and made an opening of $50.1 million. While it performed lower than expected, King Kong made domestic and worldwide grosses that eventually added up to $550 million, becoming the fourth-highest-grossing film in Universal Pictures history. It also generated $100 million in DVD sales upon its home video release. The film garnered positive reviews from critics and appeared on several top ten lists for 2005. It was praised for its special effects, performances, sense of spectacle and comparison to the 1933 original. It won three Academy Awards for Best Sound Editing, Best Sound Mixing and Best Visual Effects.

Yeah there's no real reason to hate this movie. Some people complain about it being long, but that's a good thing actually! When I go to the cinema and pay for my ticket I don't want the film to end in the blink of an eye!

I enjoyed Peter Jackson’s King Kong. Yes it’s a long movie, but so was the original. I back when I was a kid, I was hooked on the original, but didn’t like the sea voyage to the island. The rest of the movie was entertaining as fuck, as was the PJ version. The Bug pit scene with Andy Serkis getting fed on by fat, ugly leeches; well that’s what I call them. I bought the Deluxe extended edition with the deleted swamp monster sequence and all the behind the scenes stuff. It’s a very nice package and I enjoy the movie on its own for what it is!
How is the original long? It was half the length of the remake.

So because someone spelled it the same way for a Fight Club(?) review, I had to google that (at work, yikes!) it turns out you don't need the 'a' to keep it beast... I thought it said best too. Who knew, right?
The movie sucked because Kong was the size of a Tyrannosaurus rex 🦖 🦍 . T-Rex was only about 2 stories high, Godzilla was the height of a freaking skyscraper and he would have stepped on kong with one foot which would cover Kong’s and a full grown adult t-Rex’s bodies. 2017 Kong is the real Kong, they finally got his actual size right.
And a real T Rex souls beat Loser Kong easy
Dude, wtf are you talking about?, the 2005 version its based on the original of the 33', Kong in this version has practically the same size as the original of the 33'. Godzilla has nothing to do with the original (therefore neither with this version). Godzilla vs King Kong didn´t happen until 1962, wich, again, has nothing to do with the 33' nor the 2005 versions.
Even the original kong is bigger than this one
