I have a jumbled collection of this tool and its stamps, similar to yours. I got my first one on clearance at Michael's on a whim, never having seen it before. I tried it and loved it and snapped up as many other variations and kits as I could manage. I made a series of Christmas cards by stamping out a big wreath with sprigs and boughs on a sheet of paper, trimming it down into four panels, and voila, I had panels for my holiday cards that year. A hint: I find the centre of the paper with a ruler and draw perpendicular lines through the middle in a light pencil. Then I place my gear/wheel. There are arrows on the tools, which you can line up on the pencil lines. This way you can reposition the tool if you bump it or lift it for any reason, and you have a better chance of re-aligning it. It is definitely a bit of a zen thing; you get what you get and you can't always know how it will turn out!
Start with a 12x12 sheet of a light color card stock, fill the page with stamping, and cut it up like a one sheet wonder! That way you don’t feel like you are wasting your creation! I always appreciate your videos! Maybe you could do a stamped one sheet wonder demo for any subscribers who aren’t familiar with them.
I have this tool and bought with the intention of making mandala cards, but I hadn’t thought about it in years until I saw this video! 😄 now I have to remember where I put all the bits! 😁 it was good fun to use, though I think now I might add a glue dot under the gear to stop it moving 😅 Kate x
So glad to see both this series and this product. I, too, bought this product and it has NEVER (and many accessories) been out of the packages. Thanks, Lindsay. Maybe it will see the light of day.
A beautiful card! I’m sure your daughter will love it. I’ve never seen this tool before but it’s way too complicated for me. I like the acrylic stamping tool you used. I enjoy the way you use things you have instead of needing all the latest trends. I’m looking forward to this series.
I have one of these tool sets (with the round set of "gears/cogs") and I really like it! Thanks for re-introducing people to it! I remember seeing your youtubes back when you DIYed a makeshift version of this tool with, literally, a popsicle stick, a cottage cheese container lid, tape and a stamp block. You are sooooo creative! :) Then a short while later I was able to get a good deal on some of the Inkadinkadoo stamps made to use wih the tool and intended to make my own tool, too. But before I got around to it I picked up an actual tool set at a garage sale for a song! I haven't had problems with my centering gear/cog slipping around on the paper, but it still has its foam base on it and some "grip". When that goes perhaps I'll put a bit of that plastic, non-slip shelf liner from the dollar store on the bottom of it. Also, most of the time when I stamp I cover the whole of an 8 1/2" x 11" paper and cut it into four A2 card fronts. Sometimes I center the tools on the long side of the paper and that looks great. (In fact, I think I like it better than centering the tool on the paper. :) lol ) If I was making 5" x 7" cards, I'd cut two from the 8 1/2" x 11" paper and save the remnants for embellishments on another card. But I have also free-handed some card fronts on pre-made A2 cards and gotten compliments on how pretty they were.
I bought the sets when a local craft store marked them down. And through the years I bought the stamp sets that they sold separately that I liked too. And their really fun to use. Thank you for reminding me I have them 💕.
Hi Lindsay, I don't have the little gizmo but I thoroughly enjoyed watching this video. It is great to watch you work through the process...not necessarily having a specific plan when you start out. It teaches us to let the creative wave carry us when we are making cards. Just keep thinking about the person and enjoy the process.
If you have sticky spots on your foil when using adhesive, you can always use matching/coordinating powder eye shadow! Makes it no longer sticky, and adds to the distressed look.
I gave a thumbs up before I even watched because I have some hoarded never used Inkadinkadoo stamping gear (although not nearly as much as you do!) - I am inspired to drag it out - I think it will make some great designs for scrapbook pages. As always thank you, you are so creative.
Hi Lindsay, I love this idea for a new series, forgotten stash treasures - right up my street. I have this ensemble, might only have used it once but I want to dig it out and play with it again after seeing this! Had it had a magnetic form of securing the central piece it would have done better. I took a hiatus from crafting for a few years but now I want to get back into it again, and use what I have rather than buying new trend items that have limited uses. Happy Christmas and looking forward to your content in 2023, xx
I have those, I bought them at the thrift store, thanks for the tutorial I was not sure exactly how to use it. Love the card, I will be playing with them now.
Love this new series; thank you for sharing another great idea. Wow, what a beautiful card --I'm sure your daughter will treasure this one. I have the whole Stamping Gear system, along with the stamps.....thank you for the inspiration. Good time to get them out and start creating some holiday cards.
What a blast from the past!❤ Never had the Gears But remember them on create & craft must be 15 years ago. I still use my Kaleidoscope inks & have bought more - they're ideal travel inks for my Card-io and other small silhouette stamps.
I vaguely remember this but never saw it demoed! It is so cool! I’m excited about this new series bc it’s something I can really relate to. Thanks for sharing this!
I bought this years ago and was annoyed with using it so I brought it to my class and my 1-3rd Exceptional Ed students loved it! One would hold the piece another would stamp! They loved it! I made it a center and it really helped their fine motor skills! I left it when I moved. Hopefully it’s still being used!
An interesting tool set! I would bet with some experimentation it could be quite versatile. Always a pleasure to watch you create. Lovely printed card for your daughter.
Aww yay, this is a HUGE blast from the past, I always wanted those gears but never could find it at a price I wanted to pay. I have the same trimmer and it’s still my all time favorite! I have the cutting, scoring and perforating blades and a lifetime supply of the replacement cutting strips, it’s definitely a sturdy oldie but goody! This was so fun to watch, thank you!
I have some of the stamps, but not the gear parts. Love how the card turned out. When using foil, I sometimes use a different color to do the touch ups when foiling on tape. It's a also nice way to use up the leftovers when using foil with the laminator. This is going to be a great series.
Hi Lindsey, I love the card you made for your daughter's birthday. Thank you so much for sharing this foiling technique! I've got several packs of foil that I was going to use with my laminator, but ... and this is so much more user-friendly that I am going to try it.
I have those stamping things - and haven't dug it out for quite a few years! And also still have MANY of the Kaeidocolor stamp pad multi-color pads, too! I loved them and haven't pulled those out for AGES! Thanks for the great idea to remember to pull out my older things! It's a great tip down memory lane! I also have that MegaMount from Impression Obsession, too - now THAT I still use fairly often. It is the BEST for background stamps - even better than a stamp platform.
I have this tool and have played with it, but have only done 2 layers. I enjoyed watching you do the card. It opened my mind with things I can do and use the paper for. Loved the foiled edge and how you did that. I do not want any more machines for now, but to know I can foil without it, Amazon watch out. I really enjoy all of your tapings and my husband loves watching the Sat Chat with me.
Oh my goodness! I have one of those, and I don’t know where it is! Thank you for bringing these out of the mothballs, I’m gonna tear apart my craft room and play with it 🤭👏🎨
I have the "master set" and many of the stamps and cogs. I got all of them at yard sales over the years, most unused. You've speared me on to take the toys out and play again. Sandi, from BC Canada
Happy Birthday girls!! Lindsay, I have that thingy. When AC Moore closed I knew someone who worked there. They were giving away boxes of stuff and that device was in one of the boxes I grabbed. I had no clue what it was so I just put it away. I'll have to dig it out. I should have known the og of crafting would know what it is. Lol 😄 The card turned out beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
How timely for me to see your video! I bought a kit each for my Mom and myself several years ago when I found them for half price at Michael's. We each played with it for a while and put it away. Fast forward to recently, when I purchased the LDRS Pirouette Pattern templates to use with a stamping platform. Great little tool!! (I recommend!) But I remembered this Inkadinadinkadoo tool and want to get it out again! Another fantastic tool I found is the Stencils 360 tool from Penguin Palace for stencils! I highly recommend it; I am in love with it! This was a fun video and I will check out more from your channel 😊
Thanks for this new series. I think I would put the set up on a rotating mat (used in sewing for cutting easily on all four sides) it would be so much easier to always be able to stamp straight up. The card is beautiful!
Your card came out gorgeous!!! I remember seeing that stamping thing in the Michael’s clearance bin last year - it reminded me of the Spirograph, like you mentioned. I enjoyed watching!!!! We all need to come “play” at your house! So many fun things! And great instructions! ❤
I inherited this from my mom and I had no clue what it was so it got out into storage ... Now it's coming out so I can play with it to decide if it's a keeper or no! Thank you for this video!
I have these and I've rarely used it. In fact, it's not been out of its storage box in over 5 years. Think I ought to revisit it. thanks for bringing to the thought.
OMGee…I have a set or two of InkaDinkaDoo stamps with the circular guides. The designs you can create are so neat. I have a set of the ovals with the Victorian looking curvy swirls and flourishes and those make beautiful frame designs. I’m wondering why I didn’t use them more. I have a vintage collectibles booth and I’ve been wanting to create some old, “antiquee” or Victorian, turn of the century looking cards to sell there, so these might work great for that. Thanks Lindsay!
So happy to see you have a new series! I have some of these gadgets, like my husband calls them and haven’t used them in a while! Now I have a reminder and a reason to use them again!
I use the stamps in my misty to decorate envelopes. Rotating the paper 4 times goes quickly. I have also used them with blocks on scrapbook pages. Gold embossing powder enhances the designs.
HI, Lindsay! Yes, I have the Stamping Gear. Several of them. Haven't used them in years, you are right, the slipping issue was too much for me. I learned about it from you- back in 2012 when you taught us how to make one! Frugal Crafter vintage! 10 years- yep, that's how long I have been a fan-girl.
This had caught my attention when it came out too, but I'm so glad that I never opted to get it. I don't use my Cutterpede that much any longer but I still have it on hand and it was my go to trimmer for years. I picked up the combo WRMK scoreboard/trimmer that I use now. I love that mega mount but I can't find mine...pretty sure my husband moved boxes into the basement and that rocker mount got taken down there. I love it for those larger background stamps. It drives me crazy that you can get a large set of varied sizes of those make-up oval brushes but the same items branded as a craft supply costs three times the amount for a lesser number of brushes. I found the same thing with tiny needle tipped glue/paint bottles too. The ones sold for crafts ran about $4 per bottle but I could pick up 10 of them sold in the e-cigarette category for holding the various cigarette flavor oils and I got 10 for $7...same darn thing.
Hullo Lindsay, I have an idea that if this “contraption” was hard for you to use most of the people watching are not doubting their purchase. You have a way of working that makes most things look easy, but I don’t believe that I am going to ever try this, ever! I know that your daughter is going to love her card! Well done.
I have the stamping gears! I got them on clearance time ago from Tuesday morning, may have paid max $10 for the large & got a bunch of the "funky" swirls & circles, maybe $2. Surely wasn't going to pay heaps when first came out. I used those to make "fancy AG styled" borders with gold embossing powder before I purchased a die cutting machine...Such nostalgia!
I really love the stamped design ~ it reminds me of a beautiful henna tattoo! I've also got a ton of that Minc foil. I have the Minc machine as well, but as you said it's a hassle to drag it out. I didn't know I could use the foil with double sided adhesive and get a beautiiful disressed look, so thank you for teaching me that! Your finished card is "groovy!"
A blast from the past!!! I have these as well as the large roller stamper thingy. Love pulling them out and doing it with your video. Thanks for inspiring me to play with some of my forgotten crafting supplies. I even have those ink pads too!
Most interesting device. When looked on Amazon UK they are selling these, so I have bought myself a starter set to try it out. Thank you for sharing this.
I have a ton of pieces to that set and I never thought about using the huge amount of clear stamps I have with it... you just opened a new door for me 😁
I don't have this crafty gadget, but I love your card! If I see this at the thrift store or at a craft supply swap, I will scoop it up! Thanks for sharing! 😊
Lindsay, never ever saw this Inkadinkadoo gizmo. It’s kinda fascinating. The ink pads also I never saw, either!!! This “gizmo” might look neat radiating out from one corner ??? I like the variegated ink pads. As a similar substitute, Hero Arts??? Very nice card. I have that rocker-type stamp block, somewhere!?!?!?! I have never used it. Although I do have a massive case of FOMO & probably have a plethora of crafting dinosaurs upstairs in my bonus room!!! Thanks for sharing!!! ♥️♥️♥️
I got one of these sets after I saw you demo it long ago. I played with it briefly and then forgot about it. Thanks for reminding me to get it out again!
now that looks fun i still just hand paint one stroke roses on cards they look good and people like them alot ,they take 20 minutes or so.i want to paint that style in watercolors, thank you lindsay
Inkadinkado gears and stamps. I have picked these stamping gears up so many times to get rid of them but they always make it back into my stash. I love the idea for a new video series.
It’s a few years since I saw this being sold on one of our UK Craft channels and remember being sorely tempted. I managed to restrain myself from purchasing the set as it w as so expensive on our side of the pond.
Everything is more expensive our side of the pond. I was looking at FolkArt Dragonfly Glaze, would have to remortgage my house to buy a set of those in the UK.
Yep I have the Gear stuff too and many of the little stamps. I think I’ve played with them but not sure I ever completed a project. I probably have several “play pieces“ that could be turned into backgrounds! I have that cutter too! The original one (like you have) was great for me because it was the only blade slide type cutter that would cut straight edges for me. After many years of use, replaced blades & cutting strips, I think I dropped it and broke the arm or something. I purchased another one from same company and couldn’t get it to cut straight for the life of me! Found out they had changed manufacturers and there was a definite quality issue. Anyway- cute & fun card! I hope your daughter loves it! Happy Birthday to your girls!
I have the small stamping gear and a few stamp sets to go with it. Never used. After seeing how large the designs come out I will probably use more in junk journal pages than cards. Thanks for the demo. I watched you a bit about a year ago. It was before I was signed in and could subscribe to channels. Sadly, I forgot about you. You can thank your appearance on Sketchbook Skool for refreshing my memory. I am now a new subscriber.
I also was so excited when this came out and bought it. Used it maybe once or twice to make custom tissue paper and wrapping paper. Now it sits in a container. Maybe I will give it another try.😊
I think I have this tool somewhere in my very messy craft room! I’ve never used it either. It looks like it needs something to hold the center gear in place. I’m sure your daughter will love it!
Ok about 10 minutes in and my hubby walks in asks what I’m watching, explained. He looks and says. Why not put a magnet on the round thing and the paper on a metal sheet!! I thought that was brilliant. You would need to drill a little hole to countersink the magnet. He also said, I’d number the slots. I love that man, he has no interest in crafting but he’ll jump right in to help. 🧡🖤🧡. I hope somebody finds this interesting or helpful.
Hubbies are so helpful, especially when you don't ask for their help. I'm not joking. My husband is a maintenance tech, and he helps me all the time. Your husband has a great idea!
Really pretty Lindsey. When I first saw that set it made me think of the tool u use 2 make kumihimo braided bracelets. Looks the same pretty much. Thank u 4 sharing.
I never bought it, to expensive than. And then came the MISTI, a real game changer. But I loved seeing you make a huge beautiful pattern with the gizmo and cutting it afterwards so small, I couldn't have done that!
Love how the card turned out! And yes, I had some of the stamps and wheels. Tried them once, put them away. Never used again. And ended up getting rid of them to make room for more recent purchases. 🙃 It does seem like a precursor to Gina K’s Wreath Builder. I still have my Impression Obsession cover a cards and the mega mount. It does work beautifully. I don’t seem to use it much though. Not sure why. Great idea for a series. You’ll have a bunch of crafters digging through their old supplies!
This reminds me of Gina K wreath builder stencil!!😍 I think everyone should try the wreath builder stencil from Gina K! I bought it and I absolutely love it! Thank you so much Lindsey, you always show us such great ideas, I absolutely love you!😀❤️
I had it and a lot of the stamps. I had seen a video where you could alter there platform for a acrylic stamps, bought another platform and did that ....used it a few more times since my tiny stamps then worked...but I was never thrilled with the results. I would drag it out every so often to see if I could do it as my skills progressed in stamping...but again without much success...and it wasn't a quick thing to do either. I finally passed it on to a friend to allow her to see if she would like it...but kept some of the stamps that I liked. Another fad was the Martha Stewart's stamp around the page. I still have that one, but rarely ever use it. If you have that one...could be another nostalgic moment.
As always, thank you Lindsay for reminding me. Yes, I do have the tool and I haven't used it in years. I was proud of myself; I waited until it was 75% off before I bought it. But you are reminding me that it does have potential. And it can be used with other ums. I think putting some removable adhesive on that center cog would help a lot with this process because you're right... that was one of the frustration points.
She WILL ABSOLUTELY LOVE her BIRTHDAY card🎊🌈💖 That tool is cool and I do not own one, I know those who do will be inspired to create with it. I’m inspired but I’ll need to improvise 🙌🏼 Glad to hear that your kids came over, I’m sure that made your heart happy🌈💖Yes, for new and extremely important items👍🏼
Wondered where this was going to end up so many techniques and accessories. Was amazed at the sticky peeling off the film. Never knew that was a thing. Fabulous result , how you thought that up is the greatest skill, seeing potential, I could copy it but not that original thought. Thanks love your channel.👏😘
I have a bunch of.stamps from this tool but I never bought full product, I remember it being expensive. Glad to see you make a beautiful card, Happy Birthday to your girls!
I remember when the stamping gears came out & I couldn't afford them. Glad because it looks to fussy for me. Never bought into the foiling craze but have seen the foil on discounts so may buy some after seeing how you used them without the machine. Loved the end results of the card. Looking forward to more "What is this thing & now do I use it" videos.
I bought a huge collection of cardmaking supplies from auction, including stamps, dies, embossing folders, die cutting machines and amongst it was this tool with many different stamps and shapes, all completely new and unused, and in the several years since I bought it, I too have failed to take it out of the packaging and use it. This may be just the prompt that I need!
Hello Lindsay, I have one of these in my stash. I have different stamping sets that were made for this tool. I have an ocean themed set with seahorse and turtles. Thank you for inspiring me to dig it out and make pretty things.
I have some small pieces of the colored foil..it’s perfect for using on paper beads. I apply it after I let some glue on the surface of the bead get a little tacky and it’s just a little bit of shimmer. 🥰
I have a jumbled collection of this tool and its stamps, similar to yours. I got my first one on clearance at Michael's on a whim, never having seen it before. Good idea!
I love seeing your "moldy oldies"! We are always shown the latest stuff and the over- consumption has to stop.
I agree!
Agree completely.
The title of your new series is a good one! We are sure to see some interesting art supplies in the future! Thank you Lindsay.

This is the best timing! I just got a bundle off ebay cheap! Now I have all kinds of ideas!
Great!
Love this new series; thank you for sharing another great idea. Wow, what a beautiful card --I'm sure your daughter will treasure this one. I have the whole Stamping Gear system, along with the stamps.....thank you for the inspiration. Good time to get them out and start creating some holiday cards.
I love this card, the marque font and distressed foil makes it look like a vintage circus playbill, perfect for the recipient

Use any dye ink that is close

I love how chaotic your crafting is…. It’s just like me! How many other crafters out there are the same way as us?
We all are (but other UA-camr edit better 😆)
Some projects come together like magic. Others, even technically simple ones, fight you every step of the way.
I have the "master set" and many of the stamps and cogs. I got all of them at yard sales over the years, most unused. You've speared me on to take the toys out and play again.

Never saw this gadget. I do remember the stamp pads. Card is cute. Thanks Lindsay.
My favorite as a kid was the Spirograph. The geometry mesmerized me as a child.
I have this tool. Bought it on clearance but never used it. Didn't know how it worked, but this will get me using it. Great series!
Like that thing you were using looks awesome! Your card was very pretty I’m sure your daughter will like it! Thank you Lindsay hugs Liz x
Wow. What a cool tool. It looks so much fun to use. Thank you for sharing this with us. Love to you and to all. - Dawn 🌅
Awesome!
OMG!!!!!!!😂 I just reorganized my space and came across it I knew what it was though just haven’t used it yet!😂
Most interesting device. When looked on Amazon UK they are selling these, so I have bought myself a starter set to try it out. Thank you for sharing this.
I have a ton of pieces to that set and I never thought about using the huge amount of clear stamps I have with it... you just opened a new door for me 😁
I have the complete Stamping Gear kit and never used it. But this has inspired me to get it out! Thank you for sharing
Very nice! I have that stamping gear thing! Used it once, but like most of us I had to have it!!! Loved seeing you use it. 👍✌️❤️😊
My want monster was mad for it!
Now they are out if business!
Welcome back!
I do have one ... don't use it often. Guess I should. Can make such beautiful designs.
I also was so excited when this came out and bought it. Used it maybe once or twice to make custom tissue paper and wrapping paper. Now it sits in a container. Maybe I will give it another try.😊
I have never seen this. It is tedious but very cool. What a great class subject. Looking forward to more
I think I have this tool somewhere in my very messy craft room!
Great ideas!
Hubbies are so helpful, especially when you don't ask for their help. I'm not joking. My husband is a maintenance tech, and he helps me all the time. Your husband has a great idea!
I’d just thought about too. I have this tool too so will be fun to have a play
Didn’t find the birthday stamp, but they have others that are close.🙏
I love the big birthday stamp.
I have this too. Haven’t used it in years. I’ll have to drag it back out and give it a try.
OMG....I still have mine! I love you brought it back in demonstration.
Goos series idea. Yes, I bought one of those cog things. Never used it. It does look like a big production.
I have this set with lots of stamps. Works great. Kind of a Mandala maker for stamps.
This reminds me of Gina K wreath builder stencil!!😍 I think everyone should try the wreath builder stencil from Gina K! I bought it and I absolutely love it! Thank you so much Lindsey, you always show us such great ideas, I absolutely love you!😀❤️
Fantastic series. This is one of the few tools I didn't buy.
I love your creative process. Do not have that do-dad! Have a great day!
I don't have that. She had quite a few gadgets!
Never seen this product before, looks so cool.
What's nice is using the big rectangular one to get things perfectly in a row.
I am eagerly (inspired by your eagle for October prompt) awaiting your next video in this series. Love it.
Thanks, Lindsay! I never saw any of this before!
I bought it on clearance as well at A.C. Moore and also found some at the thrift store.
I have the entire collection of stamps. It’s actually an incredible concept!
Yup - I got various parts at Michaels some time ago. I should really dig it out of the back of the closet and play!
I use a little reusable adhesive dot (or 2 for larger ones) to keep the center gear in place. Then I can rotate the paper to stamp comfortably.
Good idea!
Very cute piece of equipment. I have never seen it, but loved the card! Also am excited about the new series.
I have this also. All the pieces I believe and about 32 stamps. Never used. If anyone wants it I can give it to you very cheap. Love the new series.
Nice idea!
