I've been a painter for 42 years in the UK. I started at 15 and went self employed at 30. I've loved my job and when people are pleased with your work it makes it all worthwhile.
I'm 35 and just turned self employed mate but the other day the stress brought me to tears. Fact. Any tips? cause I'm close to just going back on site. Cheers
I retired at 60 from an engineer role. My first ever job was apprentice painter and decorator. I did a refresher course and I’ve now gone self employed. It’s brilliant, customers accept I’m a little slower at my age and can’t a,ways do a full day but I charge for the job not day rate,
I'm a new painter and decorator from the uk getting my buisnes set up and I find its clean up, paper work and cutting in that are the most difficult and time consuming. Any tips?
Did anyone do the 6 months course and become a painter and decorator, if I'm being honest I think it's the easiest trade to learn in a short period of time , which has influenced my reason for picking it

A lot of ex convicts become painters. They must teach them in prison.
