    Mine doesn't have the blue line when dragging in properties. Wish it did! Just has a shadow like space

      I'm on a Mac. Are you on Windows? That might explain the difference.

    I saw a video where you have to tell the software where the color position and color material. You didn't do that in this tutorial. This because they don't overlap?

      Correct. If the letters overlap and you want to be able to quickly remove the overlapped satin stitches, then you would want to assign the Applique Position and Applique Material designations to the placement and tackdown steps.
