"I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past, I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain." - Litany Against Fear, from the texts of the Bene Gesserit.
I think it was an original chant created for the movie / side OSTs. The chants are repeated across different tracks and some parts of the chants are layered over each other starting from different times but staying on beat. If you go through all the tracks on the 3 OSTs you'll find the chants by themselves and can learn them.
I am sure who read the series before knows what will happen with the protagonist. He end up blind by an accident, his first son will be killed, his lover will die after she gave life of the twins who is suffering from drug overdose just like his sister had been. Speaking of his sister, this is another deal. Thanks to her mother's ego and stupidity, she ended up highly drug overdose which sealed her fate. Her mother left her when she was a child without shame of her actions. So as her big brother later. The kid did not got any help or support so she was alone in her whole life. And heck the evil uncle of hers, possesed her mind and used her to comit evil things. In the end she comited suicude because she no longer could take it anymore. I am not sure what was in the wirter's mind when he tortured this character, but definetly wasn't sance...
...The logical conclusion of knowing every single one of all your ancestor's memories? Yeah, most human minds simply would not be able to withstand such a burden. So very many different egos, vying for control. And really, considering the Fremen regime in Messiah and Children, Baron Harkonnen was around about... equally as evil, hence why his genetic ego was able to subtly take Alia's mind by 'acting as advisor', because intrigues, assassinations and other acts of violent tyranny were already used readily by Emperor Muad'Dib. It makes a selfish sense that Jessica left Arrakis, her Duke died there, after all. And Leto II... oh, poor Leto II.
The original book has got enough strong female characters, though the plot tells a story of patriarchal society. But movie creators turned Liet Kynes into a woman :-)
I had to look up the name Liet. It's apparently a anglo-saxon name which comes from the name Lettice, which was popular with girls during the middle ages. So a woman with a girl's name.

Actually the "uncle" is her grandfather from the maternal side
yeah, Alia is the most tragic character of Dune imo, by far. poor Alia
