    For intricate gluing I picked up a trick from Artymaze: put glue on the back of your hand, then take your intricate piece, like your little doilies, and smear the back of your doily onto the glue on your hand. Works great for delicate things.

      When I have an intricate die I will lay the die wrong side up, put a small amount of Tim Holtz distress medium on a piece of wax paper and dab a small sponge into it and apply it to the back of the die. Works for me. It’s messy but Tim’s collage medium dries matte and once you’ve laid the die where you want it, you can just press a paper towel over it to clean up the excess and it’s fine.

    I’m thoroughly enjoying watching you make the labels. I watch UA-cam on my phone and as you were gathering papers, I put you on pause went into my craft room and pulled out things so that I can make labels tomorrow. It looks like a lot of fun.

    These tickets look A-mazing!! I love the vintage color scheme you've used and I'll have to have a go at making some of the circle tickets as these are really effective too. So much crafting to be done, so little time in the day lol 😆

    I've got the little pair of fussy cutting scissors and love them because I have big hands and bad wrists so the large handles help. I lost the cap almost immediately though. Basically if a cap doesn't have a storage spot on the item I'll lose it. We can call it special skills. The other fussy cutting scissors are spring loaded squeeze scissors made by fiakars that don't hurt my hands or wrists.
    On another subject I'm a person who will use almost any paper i can find to die cut or paint on then die cut. Magazine papers are great for paint then due cutting or just collage. And it's basically free paper that comes in my mail or can get from local businesses that don't want them anymore.

    I just found the 'top 5' series and I'm loving it. Two things I'm taking away from this video is a 'template corner maker' like the one you made out of a playing card. Ingenious! Sometimes the price of corner chompers is prohibitive and you've got a great solution. The other thing I'm taking away is looking at papers (ads, books) differently. I think I always focused on the picture, but now I'm looking at other things: Roman numerals, Large, decorative letters bits and bobs from the banner of the top of a page, only using parts of the whole ad, and the like. Those are the little things that really make an impact in embellishments and decorating. Honestly, it has really motivated me to get back to working on my jj's. THANK YOU!!

    This was the greatest fun. For the bases I used die cuts from a cereal box that had a lovely cream colour on the inside. For the second layer I used smaller die cuts from dictionary, music, reckoner pages and the inside of business envelopes. I cut the tiny pieces from old pages from Good Housekeeping Magazine - why didn't I think of that before? Mixed with smaller labels, postage stamps and paper dolls, they came out great. Thanks for the brilliant ideas!

    Thank you for showing us your process of making the tags and for sharing your favourite projects for the year.
    Wow! What a journey you have been on in 2022. I have thoroughly enjoyed watching your videos and seeing your subscriptions grow. I remember how excited l was when you reached 2,000!!
    You have inspired me to take on Junk Journalling. Only upon actually doing it can you appreciate how meditative and fun it is to do.
    Now that l have binged watched this series over the morning, l am going to spend the rest of the day making these projects.

    I have really enjoyed this series, and knew labels would be your #1. These vintage ones are my favorite! I love Tim Holtz everything and have all 5 sizes/styles of his scissors, some more than one “pair”. Why do they say “pair of scissors”??! I use them all through the house, not just my craft room. Even with the Haberdashery ones that are very sharp, I don’t use the cover thingy. I store all of the scissors, point side down, in a container that I added an inch of foam to the bottom. Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and sending hugs from Ky, USA.

    • @robinsutton4952
      @robinsutton4952 Рік тому +1

      I was curious also why they’re referred to as a pair. According to Google a pair of scissors was originally used to emphasize the two blades. I also store my scissors point down and hold them point down when I’m walking. I can still hear my mother and kindergarten teacher saying “never run with scissors and hold them point down”. Happy Holidays.

    I hoped it would be labels 😉. Love this project. I am going to make a bunch next week after this busy weekend. Christmas Greetings to you and all your family as you gather together. I have my scissors blade down in a wooden caddy so I keep the protective sleeves on them. When I leave them on my desk l do not use the sleeve. Dropped scissors are sometimes damaged so I feel it is prudent to protect my investment. I especially like your magazine images. Your gentleman tag is fabulous. Blessings from Canada 🇨🇦. We have so much snow and -40C temperatures so I would trade you for rain. 😮
