    Now that is useful especially for draught proofing the house. I like that.

    Brilliant Tim! Thanks for the tip and the good IR Cam use cases I never thought of. Seems someone at Topdon is pretty eclectic in what they watch on UA-cam.

    These thermal cameras are a fantastic aid for troubleshooting electronic circuits. Once very expensive but like all technologies ,once r&d and upscale manufacturing costs are recovered the price becomes more reasonable. Nice presentation Tim.

    I very much appreciate this. I've already purchased their Jump-Starter and we have used it few times to help when needed. Currently, I am in the process of silencing/insulating my monAMI so it should be interesting to compare the now to the same day next year. My hubby thinks I am geek for new stuff. Even so, I think this will come in handy in the gardens locating the idea places to plant that will thrive there. I know your not an American but I wonder if you might remember when we less affluent Americans would buy used volkswagons, buy a kit to make the body look like something else (Like a Porche). We had one that was changed into a dune buggy. I can't understand why Citroen is not being the first to jump on this so of thing. I'm 73 and would love to buy a kit that I could use to lift off the current body and buy a kit that would provide a quirky 1947 Willy's Overland Wagon Jeep. I think Citroen is missing an opportunity to be Avant Garde with this little gem of transportation. I adore monAMI. I've been driving, with the appropriate licences, since I was 15, everything from a Volkwagon to an Ambulance to a tractor. This is my favorite, perfect for a bit of fun and indulgence at my time of life.

      That’s a fun idea. We saw something similar in Thailand. Sort of fake vw beetle van bodies

      There's an electric mehari clone using 2cv bits (used to be a kit called 'El Cid')

    • @williammillard687
      @williammillard687 Рік тому

      the original mehari was abs with a steel-frame, Ami-style, the El Cid was fibre-glass so no need for the frame (both are 2cv based)

    🐞Very well done presentation, Tim! I was almost expecting Mr. Boo to suddenly appear as a heat figure in the bushes around the 1:40 mark as the camera panned through them🌱🌱! LOL! This is a good product to have for finding heat leaks around windows and doors especially here in preparation for a Canadian 🍁winter. Or, as you say, finding out what is giving off tons of heat in your home that you never suspected before. That would help in making decisions on purchases especially when trying to be energy conscious. Do you find it to be more accurate than the temperature gun that you used for the inside of the Ami recently? Anyway, cheers to you and Mr. Boo!

    • @MeandMonAmi
      @MeandMonAmi  Рік тому +1

      Not sure about accuracy but you are seeing a much more complete picture of a room or roof or object. The heat gun focuses on just one spot so they are quite different really

    The most remarkable use of the thermal camera was someone in Australia supposedly captured a thermal image of an extinct thylacine alive on the mainland! Flushing out unknown critters makes it a useful tool to intrepid wildlife hunters.

    If you cover-up with a survival blanket (reflective mylar) you will be invisible on a thermal image camera...( hiding/invisibility tip )....a normal blanket is see-through to a thermal imaging camera! (see Flir systems)

      @@MeandMonAmi ua-cam.com/video/38DMX7s9-X8/v-deo.html (very good construction/insulation - allegedly!) Combin e cleverly fitted circa 1" board with reflective mylar and voila.. I clearly watch far too much social media!! 95% of the insulation takes thinner board, less insulation.....getting the last 5% takes ridiculous amounts! Not worth it imho 🤓
