    A couple of observations, Tim. I've thought this often, but never mentioned it before: your production quality on these vlogs, particularly during the opening sequences, is first rate. And my second observation: your thoughts and dreams of places to go, vehicles to acquire, and places to live, are romantic and mutually shared, and the look on Mr. Boo's face - the bug-eyed incredulity as you explain to us your thoughts on these matters - is priceless. We know who the practical one is in your relationship, but I, like you, am a dreamer. "Just a mad idea I've had overnight" indeed.

    Funnily enough, we had just the same idea as you had about two years ago - we love the French Riviera and thought it would be a smart move to see whether it wouldn‘t be so much cheaper to buy property in Italy, just a few miles from the French border. We even stayed on the same camp site as you did and ventured out from there. We even went to the same real estate agent in Isolabona. But in the end we found that it just wasn‘t for us - the properties were either not to our taste or too derelict, the villages too gloomy even in summer. So this year we managed to find a tiny apartment we could just about afford in France, not too far away from Saint Tropez. We love your videos and all the ideas it gives us what to do, see and eat around Villefranche. Maybe one day we‘ll bump into each other!

    Just make sure to check with the local authorities if you are allowed to build before you buy anything, because the real estate agent would probably tell you anything to make a sale.
    Maybe I’m a bit cynical, but in general I don’t trust anyone further than I can throw them.

    • @thomasjpuleo8112
      @thomasjpuleo8112 Місяць тому +2

      No fear of that. No agent will want their fingerprints anywhere near a train wreck. Agents and sellers are from the places where they work, and care about what happens there, and won't get snarled up in something headed for disaster. Also, any such property will be listed as "edificabile" (buildable) or not; there is no faking it. And in these small towns, everyone sees and knows everything that happens, so there is no sneaking around. Also, there will be notaries and bankers and translators involved in the transaction, a whole passel of local business people who have reputations to protect. Italy is a conservative country, and as in many other countries, real estate is the second if not first religion.

    Very Enjoyable Episode. I don't know if this would interest you, but, this happened when I was 12 years old so I only remember the basics. The Father of one of my Friends bought a piece of land. He obviously had worked everything out but I can't tell you how he did it. He built a brick frame about 2 feet high, the size and shape of 1 of the 2 large Container he was about to buy. He had sketches of what it would look like on the inside. Livingroom, Kitchen and Bathroom etc. The second Container would be secured on the top of the other Container. The 'Upstairs' would have Two Bedrooms, a Toilet with a Shower, a Study. It was a Spiral Staircase that would be put in. it's easy to arrange for Plumbing and Electric installed in Scotland. Windows and a Door were cut out and installed. The outside was coated in cement then when the time was right, before it set, shapes were made to make it look like an Old Stone Building. I can remember to hide the fact the Walls were a Metal Container, they had large sections of Wood to Cover the Walls and Ceilings. Some walls were Papered, some with Tiles and others Emulsioned. they did something with the upstairs Roof but I can't remember what.🧸🧸🐶🚙

    Fab vid. My sister has a wooden house in Cornwall. Dunno if you’ve considered similar, there are these amazing Haus German and European pre fab homes I’ve seen on Escape to the Country they put up in Scotland and Grand Designs, which they install within six months. They come on the back of a truck and go up within a day. Have a Google and you may see the sort of thing I mean. Don’t be wary, lots of really nicely designed structures. Just dunno if they would fit your budget, but do some homework on it. You may see what I mean.

    Dolceaqua is such a great looking place , but buying a ruin despite the fabulous view is going to demand an awful lot of hard slog not to mention money. Also come October/ November, the weather is going to be pretty bleak up there. Who will look after it when you aren't there? If the ruin has a fire place, once aroof is on and some windows in, could be quite toastie. You could make it habitable and add to it ?

    Twiggy might get worried about landslides and avalanches during bad weather…… and Variety is the spice of life, so having a sole place to get away from it all might get a tad monotonous. Doing some math, it’ll be a long while before you hit the break even point between renting and owning, and not having the upkeep responsibilities of ownership. The reason for a petrol camping car whether its a 2CV or a Fiat Panda - is simply freeing yourself from range anxiety and you can go off road with it. I personally feel electric is fine around town and for short to medium distance trips. But long distance petrol wins - its simply superior and if you want to travel to North Africa, you’ll find plenty of petrol stations en route but no EV charging infrastructure. And the other reason you guys want a camping car over the ID Buzz is its cheaper and its less awkward driving around and finding parking space. With the active lifestyle you’re pursuing more interior space Is a definite plus, too. Don’t give up Elton but get something that lets you go further afield. Best wishes! 😊

    ⚜ Well, I'm going to have to remember that you two apparently, like playing tricks on us with the "click bait" captions. I fully, expected to see the proper makings of a dream home in this video, but alas, no such spindle or spike for such a dream. Shame on you, for leading us on so. I'm beginning to wonder if the whole idea is to just keep us on the edge of our seats, as it were. Are you really serious about having a home here, in Dolce Aqua? ~James🛡

    Another dead end town with some unappealing expensive grub. It looks abandoned and full of damp. Thank goodness I live in England.
