Serious Sam HD - How to: Kleer alley in Metropolis on Serious

I noticed some people were having a lot of trouble getting past this bit, so I figured I'd record a video with a relatively easy method to survive that part.
If you're wondering why I'm running back and forth like that when the Kleers are at the edge of the spike pit, without damaging each Kleer enough to kill it, it's because the Kleers, by themselves, just run up to the edge but no further. When you hit them however, with a bullet from the Minigun for example, they fall into the pit and die. Presto, one less Kleer to worry about :)

This level made me feel hopeless. I love how this game can make you feel overwhelmed yet overpowered at the same time. I had constant moments where I was wondering how in the hell I survived.

I remember playing this back in the day on my brother’s pc, a friend of him was using the editor and fixed Luxor with like hundreds of bulls running towards you when opening that massive doors. That sound when they started running towards us I’ll never forget!! These were the days when everybody took their PCs along with them and connected them with eachother to play multiplayer mode.

I couldn't jump over the pit to escape the skeletons, but I was able to launch myself over it using a rocket to blow up as I jumped, which launched me over the pit. But you have to have enough health to not get killed.

I do the same on this corridor and also in the next arena, where I used the Rocket Launcher to climb a wall and from there I killed everyone.

@spardax212 When playing on Serious, the max amount of ammo you can carry for all guns is doubled.

you have to air strafe for doing it i found it accidentally when i play now i easily able to skip this area

On the xbox one port, even if you glitch trought the pit, the ground will spawn to let skeletons go trought

@@Sarat-T I managed to do it by aggrowing kleers, rocket jumping myself trought the pit, then just spread with grenades and rockets the kleers that at the opposite, you have to kill them fast since the ground will spawn after a few moments

​@@iramdeideus2016 The ground isn't spawning, it's a cover opening and closing. I reloaded lots of times and one time it was even closed. So I crossed over, lid opened again and so I shot the Kleers like Kleers in a barrel and managed to kill most of them. The the lid closed again, Kleers began to cross but the herd was thin enough now that I managed them. If the ground is never closed, then try and jump across. It's possible at least on the PC if you are close enough the side. Just try/reload until it works.

I remember this part. The way I did it (Note: Was playing the original Serious Sam that came with the purchase of Serious Sam 3, I wasn't playing the HD version and I was on Normal mode), I used the minigun until I got overwhelmed and then switched to the grenade launcher. Jump and fire, the grenade will hit the middle of the mob and scatter them without doing any damage to yourself. Not the cleanest way to do it, but I'd rather not resort to just skipping back over the pit. It's kind of cheap.

Yeah it is, but I believe that there's always an "intended" way of completing a challenge. If it's possible to do without cheesing it, that's the way it should be done. Granted, the sheer number of retries gets a little ridiculous with fights like these. I don't blame anyone for giving it the middle finger.

How did you jump across the pit?

I jump across pit back from left corner partition wall middle left side pitt where portal is. You can jump sideways across. Or use rocket jump..or stand at pit edge use a bull to throw you across. Backtrack kill
Spikes kill half of them. When kleers cross over run to start of road facing entry door first gap between house at start. Hide inside kleers can't attack you there can knife them all.

First I was charging all those waves head on ;) I even went pass gates and managed few times to stay for a minute or so alive swarmed from all sides by Kamikaze and Skeletons ^_^. Those hordes charges are so climatic

You should hide behind the corner right by the whole and watch all the bones fly up. Theres plenty of tricks like this through out the game. Im always rocket jumping over an arena wall to stay out of the death pits. Even at the end you can boost up out of the arena
