My Samsung dishwasher was out of warranty and when it ran it sounded like a leaf blower in my kitchen due to the motor going out! My wife gave me an ultimatum because it was pretty unbearable and I didn’t want to spend money to buy a new one. I purchased a new motor and I watched many videos on how to replace it but none of them compared to this one. I watched it step by step pausing the video each time to be very careful. Dishwasher sounds brand new again. Thank you so much!

If you're like me, and that little blade on the circulation pump has begun chewing up the motor shaft, you'll likely not experience its removal to be so swift. Try to straightened it out on the shaft, and get underneath with a pliers, and you can "pursuade" it off with a flathead. Careful on the seal underneath too.

This is a fantastic how to. I followed along scene by scene and everything works great. I am a mediocre home handy man, if you can use a screw driver, you can fix your dishwasher with this video.

Do you need to replace the capacitor when replacing the motor?

It's quite uncommon for an AC motor to fail and quite common for a capacitor to fail. Try replacing just the capacitor first.

Agree ,, having that trouble now. Would appreciate if someone knew the value and I could just patch one in to test. The motor bearings seem to be in good shape.

Code says ROMEX should not be used as an appliance power cord.

Why would they remove the wash arm and all of that prior? I can see taking out the racks, but why the wash arms?

On my 5050 model they have to be slightly twisted to be removed. You cannot remove the impeller/filter cover without doing that. And you have it apart might as well clean them and behind them. A lot of waste food gets built up behind them.

The seal in the motor leaked and water ruined the ceiling in the room below. The unit was 2 years old. Is this normal for Samsung dishwashers to leak after two years?

If anyone is wondering.. I did pretty much none of these steps. I just unplugged the power from the wall, and replaced the motor. It worked fine, no issues. I wish he explained why he was doing all these things.

Our DW has a horribly loud constant screech late in its cycle. Would this help? Possibly sounds like worn bearings.

How easy is it to buy spares? I think this is our problem. We can't turn the DW on, or drain it. It is a well made machine and I want to keep it as it is sturdy

I replaced the motor/sump assembly in my DW80F800UWS with part DD82-01065A, but the ECS on the new part has a 4 pin plug and my DW has a 2 pin plug. It's there a workaround to handle that?
