Gidster1 I don't believe that, I seen a video of him hitting C2 chest but it was very breathy, no way he can go lower (unless I'm thinking of someone else but I'm almost certain it was him)
I'm going to have to disagree. Considering Tim and Avi don't truly hit those notes but rather give the illusion by doing the growl register, the other basses presented in this take the cake
i love both of them ,exceptional singers, but for me, they do not take the cake, Tim Storms, Paul David Kennamer, and JD Sumner take the cake, though they are alot older than Avi so i guess Avi still has a chance to show he can hit a C-100,000,000,000,000
JJ Ambrose Absolutely no except Tim. Avi is not that good as everyone think. He's a good bass but definitely not the best and absolutely not better than Josh Turner or David Kennamer. Avi can go really low but it doesn't always sounds good because he does those low notes in first octave mostly using this growl or beatbox while Josh Turner (for example again xD) can sing a few verses in C2 and also sounds better when he goes low (Check out Josh Turner Hillbilly Squeegee) plus Josh's notes sounds more resonant than Avi's. I bet you're the fan of Avi and Tim so I'm not suprised but be more open for other basses.
I'll tell you what, going into high school, I never thought my voice would get lower. I was a hardcore Tenor all throughout middle school. But all of these guys in this video really inspired me to keep working as my voice was changing. I am now almost 17 and i'm happy with my lowest note being are a C2 or D2 with my morning note being around a B1. Especially with my high chest and falsetto notes, I have become very useful as a bass, baritone, or even tenor. Change is a beautiful thing I'll tell you what.
Hm, my lowest not is an F2 and in the morning an E2 and my growl is pretty controlled so I can go up and down from B1 to F1, but my highest whistle note is an A6 my highest falsetto would be like an A5 and my lowest falsetto would be a D3 or E3, while my highest chest voice is a C4 (comfortably). Hopefully I didn't bore the hell out of yall
Don't get me wrong, I love being a bass 2, (bottom note currently fluctuating between B1b and A1, depending on how much I've been taking care of my voice that day) but I keep wishing I had something other than acapella, gospel, and country to look forward. The most recent popular music I've been able to sing along with is Johnny Cash!

So G1 is 49 Hz. This means that G-4 would be ~1.5Hz - meaning an oscillation that repeats three times in 2 seconds. That's not a note any more, and certainly can't be heard by the human ear. You wouldn't even know whether your speakers are reproducing that note (chances are they aren't though, because most roll off around 10Hz)
vocalnerd No, it depends on the notation you use. English or American. I always confuse the two, but in the other 'notation it would be a G-1, which is around 12 Hz, which is still possible. I've been trained since I was young, my ears have also been well trained, and I'm still young. I protect my ears as much as I can, heh. I could hear the 12 Hz note, but I had to put up my friend's extra bass headphones, turn up the EQ to a huge bass boost, then boost the bass on the amp, and then turn up the volume (which I hardly ever do..) Madalena RDuarte Or not. There are situations when basses voices get higher when they are really old. I'm not sure if Avi can hit 0 octave with chest being for example 40.
@@MultiKamil97 For certain I'm sure has a man ages their voice gets deeper, even JD Sumner replied to a comment "Did you voice get lower with age?" he replied "It seems to."

They were a really amazing basses in their youth. Greindl was an opera singer while Hooper was some kind of musical singer.
Someone please explain to me how it's possible to record anything lower than a C0 when the lowest frequency most microphones can pick up and most speakers can reproduce is 20hz (correct me if I'm wrong). You can't even "feel" a G-4 (what is that like 1hz or something?!) if your speakers aren't even capable of vibrating at that frequency...
First, there are microphones that can pick up those frequencies. Second, no, speakers can make a frequency of 1Hz; you can’t hear it because humans are generally incapable of hearing frequencies under 20Hz; even if you could hear it, (which is impossible) it would still be very, very faint. A speaker creates such frequencies by creating a wave every second by going outwards, then back in.
Spell Check I mean, I respect your opinion. But it just could have been stated better. All the men on the video are insanely talented, and worked hard on their craft. I don't like some, but that does not mean I will deny the amount of talent they have or the hard work they put into their music.
Pretty sure that Avi's A1 from Love Again isn't actually that... Otherwise that means I can go a lot deeper than I thought. :) so happy to see all these guys here
When your lowest note without vocal fry is a G3 But your highest note is an A7 And you can belt pretty high And you're happy with your vocal range But puberty is coming soon. And you will lose it soon And you're sad And- *singing high notes and crying*
In the A-1 range, who sings those hymns? I want to knoooooow. Also, who are all the bassists(do you call them that? XD) featured here? Tim Foust and Avi Kaplan I know, but I'm not familiar with the others.
Everyone claiming to hit anything below A1 you're probably getting octaves confused, counting fry and growl, or just stupid XD. My music partner is a deep bass (very very rich voice) and he literally gets A1 barely. Everywhere he goes people are shocked by his feel ass voice haha. I myself am a vocal/music major and a tenor who can inch to E2 or D2 and that's far from easy to achieve haha.
I have never heard of a tenor who can hit D2. You might be a baritone that has a very good high range (you would sing the tenor part and no one would know that you were a baritone). Also anything below E2 is officially a basso profondo as the definition of a bass involves a range of E2-E4 chest voice. Anything below C2 is unofficially considered an oktavist (or octavist), while the official definition is literally a full octave below a bass (E1) So while you're right that just about everyone who says they can reach A1 is mistaken or counting growl/fry (my own growl range is F1-B1) but there are a few people who can hit it with their actual voice.
I meant anyone in the comments. Also my E2 isn't choral ready. I only can project F#2, I'm a singer who uses a Mic mostly now so I can range flex. As well I'm not a baritone cause my passagio is G4 haha where as my guitarist who is a baritone has his at F4. As well I can belt to the sky (to the point where I stopped thinking about range haha) but I have tbe vocal sound and tone of just a run of the mill low tenor.
Ah you're right about the people in the comments. A1 takes a low bass and you basically have to sing for your whole life (I'm working towards it myself). Don't be so hard on yourself. In reality baritones are the most common. Any kind of tenor (or bass) is less common (even though choirs will use baritones as one or the other).
Haha well I've been singing a long time so I'm kinda glad I'm my voice type. Tenor enough to belt high with comfort but not so much that I can't get semi low
The Dongers Tim storms highest note is A4... Tim foust can reach A5 Also... storms uses vocal fry to go below A1 so he isn’t as talented as foust I don’t think
Tim Storms's voice is low but he really just isn't a very good singer. There are so many bass singers that have such a better tone than him and I don't see what the fuss about his voice is
Minstler I agree. His voice is good for accent notes. But if he tries to sing words that low it just gets lost in the grumble. Avi has such a rich tone that he’s just incredible to listen to.
Hank__ Bk that’s true. i guess it’s because he has no resonance behind it. even tim himself admits that his resonance isn’t the best (he credits Rodney Britt for that)
The last few minutes are just ridiculous. Nobody is able to sing anything below D1 in good quality. The notes in the minus octaves are unidentificable. You've got a really low voice if you are able to sing a C2 or lower.
@@kristianeskelund4420 sorry, my mistake. I ment subharmonics. Well, Geoff once told, that: "I will never ever consider myself as a true bass". But today I've watched more videos with Geoff and now I'm 100% sure, that he is a quite low bass even though he says he isn't. Voice range is a really weird thing)
I'm not sure about the others, but probably because Zlatopolsky doesn't have many easily audible clips, and he's Russian and surprisingly not very well known.
And Cristian Deheleanu also! You are correct, these men can actually sing in this range without a microphone and be easily heard over the entire chorus.
No comments about the amazing Paul David Kennamer??! Foust's amazing at low notes, yeah, but David is on another level when it comes to Power, so much you can hear him clearly in a trio with instruments playing in the back!
We are talking negative 4, wow. I misread the title at first, great compilation. I can go a little lower than standard for a female, but nothing like this, amazing.
That last note couldn't/shouldn't have been G. The song was in F Major, meaning you would've been hitting the 7th. It was probably A, because I doubt it was F. Also it couldn't have been -4. If it was, that's very abnormal. I think it's at most F -1. Not -4 though. That is so incredibly low I don't think a human could hear it.
thanks for posting a great warm up/pitch matching video. I'm stuck at about A-3. Are you focusing on getting more out of the lower back end of the larynx, using nasal chambers, or are you doing something else?

I think I pooped my pants at 20:06 ...wow
Oh my... the brown notes... lol
+bchampion96 On a less serious note, (pun intended xD) let's ask a elephant ! :D
+bchampion96 a friend of mine analysed the recording and concluded that the G-4 was created in audacity. there is a generator that produces just that.

21:13 the look on Chris' face says "That's low even for him" perfectly
He is the one Same here haha
Did we forget Richard Sterban?
My gosh Avi. Such a beautiful deep voice
It's funny how Foust goes to F#2 which is one note higher than mine lowest F2 and when he hits this note it sounds quite high for him xD
Nekros97 My lowest note is also F2. But I can expand it to D2
Dimas Bagaskara My lowest now is D#2 so I keep getting better :D
Nekros97 Mine now is C2. Keep training, it works
Dimas Bagaskara C2 is really low. I'm jealous xD
Nekros97 Haha that's fine. You'll get it one day. My C2 is still very rough though xD
AVI KAPLAN>
+Amanda Grassi-Hoying avi kaplan is better than no one?
yeah he sucks i agree with you
+Spell Check That's rude. All the men in the video are extremely talented.
+Lorna Henson It's an opinion, i think he sucks and all pentaholics are retarded.
Spell Check I mean, I respect your opinion. But it just could have been stated better. All the men on the video are insanely talented, and worked hard on their craft. I don't like some, but that does not mean I will deny the amount of talent they have or the hard work they put into their music.
+Spell Check How exactly does he suck? Since you seem to think you're a musical genius.
Tim Foust said that he has hit his lowest note to date in "Honey, I'm Good". Check it out.
Marcia G i know about it :) it is awesome
2 years later he's sung A0, a full octave below the starting note of his low dip in that song
Pretty sure that Avi's A1 from Love Again isn't actually that... Otherwise that means I can go a lot deeper than I thought. :) so happy to see all these guys here
It sounds like JD's chest range goes down below Eb1. That's crazy
***** It's really hard to tell with these deep basses where chest starts and stops
11:12 That gave me chills o.O
Came here for Avi Kaplan and Tim Foust :)
JD Sumner is still the king of the chest voice.
That's true, has there is a video of him singing a E0 with ease.
@@Vanerov not with ease. But still, impressive
@@hai965 He did it easily...
@@Vanerov not E0, but G0
Their voices dropped lower than my grades!!
Damn 💀😂
When your lowest note without vocal fry is a G3
But your highest note is an A7
And you can belt pretty high
And you're happy with your vocal range
But puberty is coming soon.
And you will lose it soon
And you're sad
And-
*singing high notes and crying*
21:56 I think I feel an earthquake
Lewis Antell
In the A-1 range, who sings those hymns? I want to knoooooow.
Also, who are all the bassists(do you call them that? XD) featured here? Tim Foust and Avi Kaplan I know, but I'm not familiar with the others.
Josh turner, Paul David Kennmar, JD sunmer, Tim storms
OMG AVI'S HERE WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOP!!!!
Everyone claiming to hit anything below A1 you're probably getting octaves confused, counting fry and growl, or just stupid XD. My music partner is a deep bass (very very rich voice) and he literally gets A1 barely. Everywhere he goes people are shocked by his feel ass voice haha. I myself am a vocal/music major and a tenor who can inch to E2 or D2 and that's far from easy to achieve haha.
deep**
I like Avi Kaplan the best. He's part of Pentonix
The Tiger Connection REALLY?!?!
*Pentatonix
I love me some Pentonix.
They are good but I prefer home free
The Tiger Connection not anymore
of course Avi is here
Isaiah Wilson yas hello hes king
Pentatonix loveer J Avi is like my father lmao
I Think it's time for Tim foust to battle with Tim Storms
iHYP3RATE Tim Foust is probably the better one. He can also sing high. And his bass notes sound fuller. Storms only uses vocal fry.
storms has a 10 octave range (the world record) and can go both higher and lower than Tim foust. also I prefer tim storms tone
iHYP3RATE Storms has a larger range. I prefer Foust as a singer! Does s.o. the exact range of Storms?
The Dongers Tim storms highest note is A4... Tim foust can reach A5
Also... storms uses vocal fry to go below A1 so he isn’t as talented as foust I don’t think
When quite a few clips here of Tim Foust is the middle section of “your man”.
Damn, they keep going lower but I only hear growls or deep purring
Unpopular opinion. Low notes are more impressive than high notes
D2 is the lowest I can go, comfortably. Proud to be a bass!
This is Tomi P’s second channel
He made this
oh
I know Avi and Tim Faust, but who were the other guys included in the video?
hinika JD Sumner and Tim Storms are the other ones I know.
Paul Kennemer, Josh Turner
The bald guy has the lowest voice in the world and the guy in the beginning in black and white sings that baby lock them doors song.
The blonde guy is Paul David Kenamer
Regarding the end of the vid, I feel like I've heard JD go to an F4, there's rumor of an A4 but it's likely a background quartet.
Tim Storms's voice is low but he really just isn't a very good singer. There are so many bass singers that have such a better tone than him and I don't see what the fuss about his voice is
He's incredible. Period.
Minstler I agree. His voice is good for accent notes. But if he tries to sing words that low it just gets lost in the grumble. Avi has such a rich tone that he’s just incredible to listen to.
@@GentleEarthWoman what a great argument
I agree. He can sing low, but I personally don’t like him as a bass. His tone isn’t very good and I think others such as JD and Avi are way better.
Hank__ Bk that’s true. i guess it’s because he has no resonance behind it. even tim himself admits that his resonance isn’t the best (he credits Rodney Britt for that)
Also, cool that you featured thebassmanadam in here, his voice is freakin crazy!
Lol I can't even imagine how to do that voice(the lowest one)
That warm feeling in your heart when you can hit every note in the video.
sure
with a flyswatter?
21:27 are you sure its not an airplane?
When the bass part does the harmony, then comes back in an octave lower 😍😫
Why is no one talking about Paul David kenhammer?
@@DrBasso-tk8yk doesn't matter it sounds good. Fry can count as vocal range if it sounds good and controlled
Finally a video that shows the negative scale ! 😱😱
Thanks for share it !
Where's Peter Steele?
where is Ken turner? 🙄
The last few minutes are just ridiculous. Nobody is able to sing anything below D1 in good quality. The notes in the minus octaves are unidentificable.
You've got a really low voice if you are able to sing a C2 or lower.
+james1098778910 My lowest clear note is C#2, god dammit
Someone who has a trained ear can hear the lowest note that i can hear is B0 but the g-7 was pretty rediculous
+james1098778910 my lowest note is C2, but I`m not always able to hit it.Anyway, I think that`s quite good for a 14 year old, isn`t it?
james1098778910 JD sumner can
Sounds like something a Tenor would say
I'm 14 and can get down to D2, can't wait to see the results in few years when I'm older.
Are you intentionally leaving out the opera guys? Cus I mean Samuel Ramey isn't too shabby.
Lucy Foster thank you! I hear so many medium range bases who, nice singers though they be, are not even close to as low as many opera bases.
4:18 is a C#2
Either that or it’s a C2 that is incredibly sharp to the point where it’s almost a C#
josh turner is just the best low voice in country easily
Try listening to Trace Adkins
I always felt “cursed” being a bass. It might not be that bad after all
I absolutely love bass voices! And a Lot of people too, man.
Feel blessed, your rare and we have way to many tenors out there, lol.
PLEASE can someone tell me whom the singers are in the Bass Compilation?? I know Avi; and Tim but the others aren't familiar to me.
Tim Storms, Paul David Kennamer, JD Sumner, Josh Turner
THANK YOU!!!!
+Deborah Marslender Tim Foust is the only one that matters
+Deborah Marslender Probably because most of them are gospel singers. Tim Storms holds the Guinness world record for the lowest voice.
thank you for the info. Tim is surely blessed with that bass vocal....well; as they all were.
I like the notes that make your head feel like it's shaking when you where the ear buds.
What about Geoff Castellucci?
He's not a low bass, he's singing his lowest notes with subharmonics, any talented tenor is able to do it.
@@dmytrotsvyntarnyi799 Geoff has almost never used fry on record, he can chest like a g#1 any given day
@@kristianeskelund4420 sorry, my mistake. I ment subharmonics. Well, Geoff once told, that: "I will never ever consider myself as a true bass". But today I've watched more videos with Geoff and now I'm 100% sure, that he is a quite low bass even though he says he isn't.
Voice range is a really weird thing)
my lowest note is F#2, and in lucky days I can do F2
+Bernardo Goncalves My lowest is C#2 and on certain days lower!
+Bernardo Goncalves I can hit a C2 in the morning. I'm pretty happy with that considering my highest chest note is G#4.
My highest chest note at the moment is F4.
+Chris Wilson my lowest is usually around b1-c#2 i think you can go higher with your chest :) considering i can sustain bb4 for a second dx
The Blitz I hit my first G4 yesterday and yes I believe I can go higher but everything above G4 is mixed I think and I don't know how to mi yet.
what about Zlatopolski, Miller,Vichniakovski,Pasjukov ?
I'm not sure about the others, but probably because Zlatopolsky doesn't have many easily audible clips, and he's Russian and surprisingly not very well known.
And Cristian Deheleanu also! You are correct, these men can actually sing in this range without a microphone and be easily heard over the entire chorus.
cristian deheleanu true and paul mikalik
No comments about the amazing Paul David Kennamer??! Foust's amazing at low notes, yeah, but David is on another level when it comes to Power, so much you can hear him clearly in a trio with instruments playing in the back!
I'm 12, and my lowest is A2. Pretty damn good for a kid who is 64lbs and 4' 6.5" tall!
Yeah. Go back to videogames kid,6 feet 5 tall and ur twelve? Nice try. Oh and btw a2 isn't that good.
Damn ur short

Steady Aim Which E?
E8 and she'll literally split in half lmao
the approximate range

Tim storms: No
thebassmanadam deserves the Lowest Voice in the world Record!!
Tommy Ron Record has still Tim Storms with his strong G -7
Pizik3 Do you have the audio?
Tommy Ron lol true
Tommy Ron there is no audio that he has
Geometry Dash Indisgust I'm starting to think that Tim is lying. I think He made up the whole story :/
Some of these guys are relatively young. Their voices will continue to get deeper and richer
I don't doubt that it's a massive over exaggeration, but it's still a fantastically low note
+54321blader yup
+OffsetSolid you know he holds record at hitting something like G#-7
+QuartikSports I highly doubt that
+OffsetSolid just check Guiness world records
the "G-4" is actually a G-3 (3Hz)
Ken turner?
thanks for posting a great warm up/pitch matching video. I'm stuck at about A-3. Are you focusing on getting more out of the lower back end of the larynx, using nasal chambers, or are you doing something else?
