  • Part 1 - Learn how to make an easy doodle drawing that will help you relax and de-stress a bit. Doodling is an easy art activity that doesn't really require drawing skills because it is abstract based and done with simple lines and shapes. I LOVE doodling for everything from relaxing and easing my mind to helping me concentrate. You heard that right - doodling an help you concentrate. Have you ever doodled while you're on a phone call or meeting? Doodling is actually helping you absorb the info! This is the first video in this series, and a departure from what I normally have on my channel, but my Instagram peeps asked for this, so I'm putting it here for everyone. This video will show you how to start the base drawing. In video 2 we'll start adding doodles, same in video 3 and in video 4 we'll finish it up. By the time you're done with all 4 videos (that are no longer than 30 minutes each), you'll have a complete doodle drawing and the skills to create more!

    ✏️ Supplies Needed ✏️
    I have only provided specific links for the things that can't be found at any art/craft supply store, and I do not get commission on anything I recommend - these are just the supplies I love.
    Paper: Whatever is appropriate for the pens you are using to draw or the medium you will use to color. I like to use watercolor paper because I often color my drawings with watercolor, but whatever paper you have will work.
    Pens: If you are going to watercolor, use something waterproof. If you aren't using watercolor, Sharpies are good, but any marker or pen will do. You can even use pencil if you want!
    Extra: snacks are always good (hahahaha!), and a kleenex or paper towel to put under your hand while you draw to prevent dragging your hand through wet ink (like I do all the time!)

    Hey Dawn 😊 what you said at the beginning is so very true. I started doing painting and drawing for therapy. I lost my daughter when she was 29 in 08 so I’ve looked everywhere to help me find this void and I finally found it. I started with rock painting in August of 21 and never looked back. Your channel has helped me the most! I’m a huge fan of doodling not sure I do it right so I’m looking forward to this. Thanks for sharing sweet lady 🎨💜

      You are a very beautiful and resilient woman as well as inspiring. My heart breaks to your story, I'm so sorry for what you've been through. But I'm also extremely proud of you and how you are waking up everyday and pushing through. Big hugs sweetheart ❤️

      Tammy - I'm so sorry for your loss, and I'm so GLAD you have found something that brings you peace and joy. I'm honored to be a small part of that. Rock painting looks like SO much fun. I've not done that, but it's on my list - too many arty things I wanna do and not enough time! HAHA! As for doodling - there really is no right or wrong. There is what makes you happy. I'm showing you how I do parts of it, but that certainly isn't the only way. Everyone who does it, does it differently. You get to do what makes you happy. In video 4, we're going to talk about that more. Love you, Lady!

    I love what you said in the beginning of your video. I’ve been doing this kind of art, using neurographic lines, for a while. It really helps me relax, to tune out the horrific events that are happening around the world. Thanks for making this video!

    What if you have a corner that is on the outside of your main drawing? Should those be rounded as well?

    • @PaintedWillowArt
      @PaintedWillowArt  2 роки тому

      Hi Sue! Completely up to you! There really are no rules. Not a specific answer, hunh? haha! If you aren't sure if you want to round the corners or not in any spot, you can always do it in pencil first and see what it looks like to you. If you like it, go over it with pen. If you don't, erase it and leave it as is. If I'm understanding your question correctly as to location, I'll mention that in video #4 and show you an example of both, K?

      @@PaintedWillowArt Thank you! I did notice in video two that you had rounded yours. I think I will do the same.
