June byers was the world champ. That was my great aunt! I cant believe I have never looked this up before. I remember Aunt june (she was much older and I was young when I knew her), was very sweet and would talk about being the world champion womens wrestler, and I would see pictures, but this was so cool to see. RIP aunt June.

Definitely the lady wrestlers were better than wrestlers of the 70s, 80s and now.

And I must say, so often I find ringside commentators boorish and rude at best, but this guy is funny and entertaining.

Note the commentator's remarks at 2m 45s. 'A good many of you ladies have written to me and wondered how on earth these girls can take this' ....'Well remember, of course, first hand, these girls are in trim athletes' condition.' The commentator, who is sometimes accused of being sexist, is stressing to FEMALE viewers they should remember that the women they are watching causing each other enormous pain and distress are in absolutely outstanding physical condition.
