Create your own Bittensor TAO Hardware Wallet

Learn how to create a DIY hardware wallet to safely store your $TAO using an old phone in airgap mode. This tutorial uses Polkadot vault combined with Polkadot.js desktop extension. Links to apps 👇 #bittensor
1. Find an old phone. Give it a factory reset.
2. Download the Polkadot Vault App. About: wiki.polkadot....
3. From then on it should stay in airplane mode without WiFi or bluetooth (aka airgapped)
4. Set up a new wallet and store the seed phrase somewhere safe and offline.
5. Pull up the QR scanner in the vault. On your computer, pull up this link and scan first the chain, and then Metadata tabs: metadata.novas...
5. Add a new Key Set in Polkadot Vault - Node-subtensor.
6. Download the Polkadot.js extension so you can connects to your vault and interact with Web3: polkadot.js.org...
7. As a TEST, send a small amount of TAO to the wallet address shown in Polkadot.js extension after linking it to the vault.
8. THEN send the rest. If you want to see your balance, download the
@NovaWalletApp
and link to the vault via QR.
9. Connect polkadot.js to stake here: delegate.taost...
Remember: the vault is used for signing transactions. Your old phone should stay in airplane without wifi or bluetooth for ETERNITY!
