I fell in a hole. I have locking and a pulling sensation. Doc said I had arthritis in my knee but I am a walker and could walk miles. She said in older patients..I am 67 years young ..that arthroscopic surgery is no longer recommended even if it is a torn meniscus, so praying the locking stops with my cortisone shot. This was so good, so professional..

I just went to a orthopedic today and got a injection. The doctor said he'd fix the tennis elbow pain with one injection. So what I got from this is that the injection dulled the nerve fibers so less pain overall however with dulled pain I could potentially make the tendon worse by overworking during the healing process. I've been pretty worried about this because it's my career, I'm not a very good arborist if I can't pick up a chainsaw.

I found out that hard way that one of the potential side effects doctors don't tell you about or even admit is leg cramping. I had a injection in my knee a month ago and ever since I've gotten multiple leg cramps at night - up to double digits. I've had leg cramps before, but never more than one per night and infrequently, usually when I'm dehydrated. I called the doctor's office to report the problem and to see what I could do about it and they wouldn't even talk to me. All they did was have the nurse lie and tell the receptionist that the cramps weren't related to the cortisone shot. The cramps started right after the shot and no other variable has changed. I asked the receptionist to have the nurse call me back and she never did.

@@trafficjon400 It's not an herb cure. A keto or carnivore diet will regrow the collagen. I’m a Retired Surgical Technologist, and 14 years ago when I was Scrubbing Sports Med at UCONN, I learned the down side of these injections during a procedure the Surgeons don’t inform you about. The Surgeon I was scrubbing with explained the recommendation is a limit of 3 within a calendar year at max. Anything more will accelerate the degeneration of the joint . On the flip side, even if less but continued over a period of time its the same result. The solution accumulates in the joint and builds up like a past of Ajax and wears away the meniscus and articular cartilage, initiating or exasperating DJD leading to eventually leading to Total Joint Replacement or Spinal Fusion. They help temporarily with 1-2 for inflammation but do NOT receive and more than that PERIOD.

So is she going to want to give it to me in all of those areas too? Like will that be safe for me and how long will the results last is what I am worried about. There has to be something safer for me to be taking for my body than these shots.

    • @robertbeamon6223
      @robertbeamon6223 11 днів тому

@@2lorishep It only helps bring down the inflammation of the joint for a few months depending on how progressive the degeneration is. If its within the early stage and the cartilage isn’t damaged yet, you may be good with only one, but if there is instability due to ligament damage it will accelerate the problem.

Because of a really bad fractured toe my orthopedic surgeon told me to not go to the gym due the past history. Anti- inflammatory drugs do only mild to moderate relief of pain. Tylenol works better but due to some of its possible side effects I do not take it regularly. ( I like my liver ). Note. I 76 years old and with exercise I do infinitely better. So I highly recommend exercise. I also keep my weight down.

My mother had severe back and leg pain that she was unable to bear and her daily life was badly affected because she was unable to move . Pain was so severe that she has to take frequently pain killer meds with heavy dosage .
After checking with many neurosurgeons , we decided to proceed with one. Most of the Neurosurgeons were advising Spinal Surgery because as per MRI report she has Degenerated disc disease and her nerves at L4 S5 was compressed .
Apart from local neurosurgeons , we had also taken advise from international neurosurgeons to go for better decision.
So finally after collecting all suggestions we proceeded with the procedure.
We were asked by neurosurgeon to get test of HbA1c for my mother diabetes. Test was performed and result was 10.1
He informed that my mother diabetes was poorly controlled and its quite risky to proceed for her surgery immediately . Since she had severe pain we can give her " Transforaminal steroid shot to control the pain . We were advised to consult endocrinologist to control her diabetes .
This was the similar suggestion given to us by 5 international neurosurgeons prior to spinal surgery.
My mother pain was so severe that we need to take immediate action because sometime she was getting unconscious and her skin color was turning blue due to chronic pain.
We decided to proceed with steroid injection as advised by our neurosurgeon . Injection was given and my mother got relief from her chronic pain. I suggested to keep my mother in hospital for observation after the steroid injection but our surgeon refused this suggestion by saying that it is quite routine procedure and nothing to worry for.
Next morning , my mother started to complain about headaches and similar back pain again. We informed our neurosurgeon and he advised some pain killers . By evening , her condition got worse. Her BP was 200 , High Fever and she was complaining about severe headache . At this time she totally forgot her back and leg pain and her focus was about her headaches . I informed this situation to our neurosurgeon and he asked us to come in emergency . At this time my mother started to experience hallucination and altered mental condition.
We took her to hospital with these symptoms where doctors performed multiple test ( CT SCAN , MRI with Contrast) and they came to know that she has developed "Bacterial Meningitis with hydrocephalus " also she got abscess pockets at her epidural layers of spinal cord.
it was totally shocking for us and upon asking the neurosurgeon , he simply replied that she has Spinal Abscess prior to injection and it was misdiagnosed as Sciatica pain. Steroid injection has trigged the infection .
We were advised to proceed with immediate surgery to drain the abscess . Surgery went well and my mom pain started to reduce. Now next thing was Hydrocephalus which was causing pressure on heart . He also advised to pass the shunt to remove excessive water from brain. We proceeded with this advise as well . Her surgery went well . After spending 9 days in ICU now my mom is feeling better and conscious but she developed short term memory issue.
After two weeks of follow up visit , neurosurgeon performed some test again and noticed that Abscess was coming again.
He suggested us to proceed for second surgery immediately and we followed his advised.
She was getting better but her hydrocephalus was not getting cured. She was on medicine for that.
Almost near to her recovery from second surgery , she contracted by Covid 19 and her symptoms were severe due to immune deficiency .
I lost my mother on 12th oct 2020 due to cardiac arrest at Covid 19 ICU.
I did my best to save her life but all my efforts were in vain.
Now ever day almost i am getting these episodes of panic attacks and I am blaming myself that i could have taken better steps to save her life. I really did my best but my inner me is not accepting it and I feel that I am left with no purpose to continue my life . i am breathing but i am lifeless now.
I am getting suicidal thoughts as well . I am blaming myself a lot.

No side effects. There are no scientific studies that prove there are side effects. I cannot imagine doing this daily. Then it means it has no effect on you so no point in taking it. @@davidharcot220 hi David, when the consultant did the injection I blacked out, unknown to me at that time was the injection caused an embolic stroke. The first 4 blackouts were TIAs leading to the massive stroke. I had a rare frontal lobe infarction along with an embolic shower that hit me all over the right side of my brain. I have been recovering ever since. I am now almost four years on, I still suffer from debilitating fatigue, dizziness, and generally feeling awful most of the time.
Having spoken with the stroke consultants, I understand that I am lucky compared to most people who just don't make it back from four embolic strokes.
The hours of medical research i have conducted on Cortisone flare shows it is far more common than the manufactures would like you to know.
As for kill you, yes, all most killed me. My life has been destroyed by the injection, I lost my home, my business, and all I had.
I have had to re over from everything on my own as the NHS were less than useless with any form of post stroke help. I have had to relearn English, and maths as the brain damage took away far too much of me.
I have posed a question regularly to consultants on how many people had these injections prior to having a stroke, how many people died due to it and it was unreported? In my opinion, based purely on open source information I would say one is too many and I am certain that as I research this subject more people will come forward with evidence. Be that imperical or anecdotal evidence I will do my best to analyse it, and once I have it, the controversial book I am writing will be published.
In summary, do I whole heartedly believe that cortisone flare can kill? Yes, absolutely. I believe completely that cortisone should be removed from the medical profession as it is extremely dangerous. The percentage of people who put on weight, suffer chronic illness post injections is far too high and they and their symptoms are ignored.
I hope that in some way I have at least given you a balanced opinion based on my own experience and the experience of others. I am always interested in hearing others experiences on how it affected them, or if they had no problems at all. My injection was in the neck about first rib T1 and I suffer from nerve pain from that area every day.
      All the best
