Now now, let’s not kid ourselves, Matt Walsh+TDW still put themselves on an artistic leash of a certain length. They still have a ways to go before Sacha Baron Cohen.
I predict the vast majority of critics will give this film a negative review. They won't give negative reviews based on the merits of the film. They will give negative reviews based on their own ideological bias. I take such negativity as a resounding endorsement of the film.
There are hardly any real journalists or reviewers anymore. Most media couldn't survive in the internet era and switched their business model to selling their fake facade to corporations and politicians for the use of manipulation and spread of misinformation. That's how almost all media companies make *_the vast majority_* of their income. It's fact: we know pretty precisely how much money they make with traditional ad sales and subscriptions, and it doesn't even cover half of their expenses. Political parties and corporations pay them. I know this for a fact: I negotiated with them as an exec, and they directly told us that their flagship product is coordinated use of their media company portfolio to make fake articles, op-eds, expert columns to spread *_any message_* they are paid to.
My comment about them being paid to do this, and that I know because I used to negotiate and have personally been given the sales speech, and that comment was of course deleted...
Actually they probably just won’t review it all. That’s what they did with What Is A Woman. They refused to touch the film altogether as a way of “protesting”

@@ryancampbell955 why? If a black person "whited up", it would be considered funny, right? Plus Al Jolson actually loved black music and wanted to bring it to the white masses. "Where did they get the money?" is a weird question. They spent it as an investment with a view toward recouping it (and they hope more) from receipts from movie ticket sales. It's not like it goes into some black hole.
It's what unfortunately happens when hopeful 'influencers' shamelessly CHOOSE to bend over and work FOR youtube (while easily-led to think that they're an 'independent' business simply because they have a laptop), where the UA-cam algorithm-employer makes ALL the rules and decides whether they'll even pay you or NOT later.......while everything is low-ball-decided via the self-serving 'quantity rather than quality' method and the easily-led folks who far too apathetically accept it all.
This was a great movie. It was revealing in a way where these groups just talked naturally. There were no tricks. It allowed people to show their true colors esp with the Uncle Franck scene! Which shows there are no limits to how far people will go if they disagree with you. But it was also bery moving and inspiring to see normal people just do mot buy into the topic of hatred.
