In your case, first find the equation of the line between the two points. Then, follow the instructions he laid out on this video to find the distance between your line and the point.
ABSOLUTELY CORRECT, BUT THAT IS THE LONGEST WAY TO DETERMINE THE SHORTEST DISTANCE FROM A POINT TO A LINE. HOWEVER, THAT COULD BE BETTER IF ONE HAS NO IDEA THAT A DISTANCE FORMULA FOR THIS SITUATION DO EXIST.
You can draw a parallel lines to the perendicular right and left. This means another parallel line would be drwan to the line already existed. Then it is found that all of them except perpendicular would be hypoteneuse and certainly would be larger in length.
(2,0) 3x-4y+15=0 I changed it to y=mx+b form and got y=3x+3.5 then I tried to get an equation that intersects the line that is formed by the given equation. I got y=-1/3x+b I tried to find b I got -2/3 took both equations I got to equal each other (excluding y values) 3x+3.5=-1/3x+-2/3 solved. x=-25/8. Also known as -3.125 plugged my x value to one of the equations to get a y value. y= -2.375 used the distance equation d=√(x²-x¹)² + (y²-y¹)² plugged in the coordinates and got 7.627048905 I look at the answer key and I see 21/5. My answer is wrong. I need help
Huria iqbal you can also solve this by using another method : you have a point (2,0) and you have a line 3x-4y+15=0 (if the line is not in general line form, you need to rewrite it as that)(general line form: Ax+by+c=0) then you use d=|Ax+by+c| / √(A^2 + B^2) then you get d= |6+0+15| / √(9+16) which equals to 21/5
Great Explanation! If you had multiple points such as (-4,2) and you calculated the 'd' to the slope for all of them. How would you determine the deviation/error of the 'd' value?
to be honest you teach better than my teacher

im trying to learn this and my test is tmrw and now im more confused FML🤬😭
my test is starting after 20 min
im using this to take my test rn lol
Mines in 2 min lmao
I was so confused when my teacher explained this for 3 perioids, 7.5+ hrs, and your 7 minute video helped me understand tysm liked and subbed
Dude you are awesome that is exactly what i needed to see
You should have 1 million subs for the way you teach and when you give confidence to students by saying "I believe in you" ...end of video . THANKS 😇
ur such a good teacher u put a nice spin on normal teaching im suprised u dont have hundreds of thousands of subscribers really well done:)
This video was literally a life saver, you explain things so easily! Thanks so much!
very nice and useful.........
Awesome way better than my teacher!
You probably don’t care much about doing this - but I can assure you that this is much appreciated ! It is very helpful. Thank you !!!
I appreciate that!
thank you you the real GOAT. my garbage math teacher can't explain this even with 2 hours and 45 mins.
This example is literally the test question thank you
Ohh... Wow!! This is so cool!! Now it's makes sense for me.Thank you so much!!!
You're better than my teacher. Thank you.
thank you so much!!! I learned so much from this video. keep making awesome videos for us confused students. good luck!!
Thank you so much, I was so confused about this but now I can somewhat do the quiz tomorrow!
How do you do the fractions?
Thank u sir that is great and simple explanation
Nice 🙌🙌
Dude flexed his mental math skills so hard
in the second step, where does 32 come from?
Thank you so much man you're so much better at teaching than my math teacher
FOR FUCK SAKES HOW DAFUQ CAN THIS GUY TEACH ME THIS IN 7 MINUTES BUT NOT MY TEACHER IN 1 WEEK
Clear and concise. Thank u!
Thanks so much man, this is really helpful!
You teach things so easily omg thank you so much for real
best tutorial by far 3: thanks, my test is tomorrow and im just learning this ouo
Thank you sir🙏 i’ve been needing this
ACTUALLY THANK YOU SO MUCH
amazing! saved me before a test!
5:12 i wish, our teacher makes us remember about 5 equations each test
yoo this was actually so helpful! thanks!
Isn't it possible to derive the equation for the point, (-4,2) and then solve the equations to find the points of intersection?
i have a test in literally like 30 minutes lol wish me luck i’ll come back and tell u guys how i did!
how did you do on the test
How was the test?
How’d you go
He lied to us...
StopTrynaKillMe how was your test 8 months ago
Funny attitude all the idc and whatever however very useful and concise
thank u i now found out how to find b of a formula after 3 years of highschool omg
good job 😍😍😍
What if yo want to find the shortest distance between two points that form a line and a point?
In your case, first find the equation of the line between the two points. Then, follow the instructions he laid out on this video to find the distance between your line and the point.
boozapian that makes sense; but how would you form the equation of a line between two points?
You can use point slope formula.
y - y1 = m(x - x1)
Yk the vibe online test rn need dis
This was very helpful thankss a lott ❤ I was doing one of my math questions along with u
How can I find the distance between line and point in polar coordinate

thank you it was of great help ❤👍👍👍👍
everything I try doesn't work. I need help. I thought it's a short cut for precalculus. I need help

What if the equation is y^2 - x^4 - 4y + 2 = 0
What if the equation is ax+by+c=0?
You could just do it by using: d = (|Ax_0+By_0+C|)/sqrt(A^2+B^2), as the point is (x_0, y_0)
Helped so much thanks
tmrw i have xam and im here midnyt figuring dis out...... thankz fr making my job way lot easier😍😍😍😍😍

5 years late but your b is positive 2/3
Is there shorter way? (Not criticizing)
