The guy on the slide guitar with the falsetto voice was the incomparable David Lindley. He was such an incredibly talented musician, that he has been described as not a multi-instrumentalist, but a maxi-instrumentalist because he had mastered so many different instruments. Truly a legendary musical genius, who is sadly missed and fondly remembered. RIP Sir. ✌🏼😎🇺🇸
Oh boy. This is great stuff. Sorry Lulu had to miss it. Putting "Load Out" together with "Stay" from the '60s was genius. "He had it goin' own". : ) RIP Mr. Lindley.
One of my favourite artists for many, many years. A very talented songwriter and performer who has a fan base that spans decades due to his brilliance.
Jackson Browne started his career writing songs for other artists such as the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band (he was briefly a member in 1966) & the Eagles (Browne co-wrote "Take It Easy"). But in the 70's he started recording his own songs. He had a lot of hits 70's-80's such as "Doctor, My Eyes", "Rock Me on the Water", "Here Come Those Tears Again", "The Pretender", "Running on Empty", "Somebody's Baby", "Tender Is The Night" etc.
Jackson Browne was a family favorite from back in the day and today. As a blue-collar guy who loaded, hauled, and ran equipment, Jackson was always with me on the "soundtrack of my life." His songs bring back memories of working in my younger days that no one would ever believe I did. "Running On Empty" was a favorite one of his.
If you know Jackson Browne you know these songs, among his biggest hits. Jackson wrote "The Load Out" as a homage to his Roadies, "Stay" was written by Maurice Williams in the 1960's, I believe. The gentleman on the Lap Steel Guitar was David Lindley (RIP), who had his own band called El Rayo X. Managed to see Jackson Browne three times in concert, and he was amazing each time. Donna started bopping her head as soon as the Piano kicked in, she knew.
Lol, though I'm only 40, my parents loved JB, and I recognize every expression on your mom's face...and such a great shout-out to the audience and the crews who move the tours from city to city...
I think the original version of Stay was used in Dirty Dancing. However, Jackson's version is now just as iconic. JB is one of my most favorite male artists of all time. So glad you ladies got to hear it and love your reactions
Ok ladies at some point you have to clue everyone in on the Blue ribbon Lulu of a State Fair project!! Jackson is a American icon! It's especially cool he was that popular in the UK!! Great Job ladies!! Peace 🕊️☮️♾️😎🎸
JB wrote The Load Out, and took Stay and reworded it to go with his sing. Dig deeper, he has many, many hits. You need to hit the Pretender, These Days and Late for the Sky.
Kathy’s face when David was singing. 😂 And agree with comment about being sorry Lulu missed it. And y’all need to get Aunt B on for a reaction. Glad you enjoyed.
Oh Jackson Browne brings back my days at Hargrave Military Academy. College and many lovely girlfriends. He is a great artist. He is 76 years old and going strong.
Running on Empty and Doctor My Eyes....Jackson Browne | Load Out And Stay . Jackson started writing the song ... Take It Easy... but got stuck and Glenn Frey of the Eagles finished it starting with ... "It's a girl my lord in a flat bad Ford" Glenn lived in the apartment above Jackson and he could hear him work out a song. He claimed that it helped him write songs..
I'm pretty sure this was used as a closing song for his show. "The Load out" was written by Jackson Browne, but "Stay" is a classic song that everyone knew at the time. He changed the lyrics to ask the audience to "stay just a little bit longer." You probably know the original version of that song. "Running on Empty," "The Pretender," and "Late for the Sky" are masterpieces by Jackson Browne. He actually has many of them. Check out the recent video of him playing "Late for the Sky" on Austin city limits from around 2 years ago. It's amazing.
JB is probably one of the best lyricists of 20th century, he's right up there with Bob Dylan. These are the five must do reactions for JB... (these songs were his biggest hits and some of his best lyrics) 1. Doctor my eyes 2. For a Dancer 3. The Pretender 4. Running on Empty 5. Somebody's baby If you get these you'll have the essential (musts) JB songs.
Since you asked for other Browne tunes, definitely check out another live performance "Running On Empty". Here he's playing the guitar, singing and having a good ol' time with the rest of the band, a stellar group of musicians. ua-cam.com/video/LNmIbSre7Tw/v-deo.html
JB wrote a song when he was like 13/14, or some crazy age, and if you listen to the lyrics you can't believe it was written by someone so young, because they are the words of someone who's lived a bit! ..It's called "These Days." Gregg Allman covered it, and is probably the best version of the song. A lot of other people covered it, including a nice version by Glen Campbell..It's just a great, great song..Should check it out. I like the way Jackson did it years later, too, but I think Gregg's is the best.
More goodness from Jackson Browne: Hold On Hold Out That Girl Could Sing Of Missing Persons Running On Empty The Pretender The guy singing falsetto is guitarist David Lindley(RIP)
The greatest song you'll ever hear in your lifetime from the greatest songwriter and singer you'll ever hear he is absolutely gorgeous

One of my Alltime favorite tribute songs. Jackson Brown is a legend.

"He had it goin' own". : ) RIP Mr. Lindley.
Remember, if Lulu is building a time machine, it has to be in the shape of a DeLorean.
The other guy singing and playing lap steel is David Lindley, a lap steel wizard!
I will never get tired of hearing this song Jackson Browne is an incredible singer/song writer
Love it when slide guitarist David Lindley steps up to sing the falsetto part on "Stay" 🙂
One of my favourite artists for many, many years. A very talented songwriter and performer who has a fan base that spans decades due to his brilliance.
Stay was originally recorded by Maurice Williams & the Zodiacs in 1960, that was the version used on Dirty Dancing.
Another great classic song ! Nothing beats the 70's music era !

10:22 Kathy's "wheels are turning." 🤔 10:24 Kathy's "lightbulb clicks on!"💡 It's so nice to see the younger generation learning.

Thanks for the reaction both looking pretty have a lovely weekend
One of the best songwriters of all time. Running on Empty, Doctor My Eyes, The Pretender, all great songs.
Stay by Maurice Williams and the Zodiacs was one used in Dirty Dancing I looked it up on the soundtrack list
JB is a genius! Still making wonderful music. His album "Late for the Sky" is a masterpeice!
Lol, though I'm only 40, my parents loved JB, and I recognize every expression on your mom's face...and such a great shout-out to the audience and the crews who move the tours from city to city...
WOW! It's been years since I've heard this! Thanks for bringing me back to my early teenage years!❤😊
Jackson is a fantastic guitarist and vocalist❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
You have to do this again with Lulu ,she will love it .
Happy Birthday Jackson.
That style of falsetto singing was very popular in the doo-wop era, from which Stay is taken...
I may be wrong but I think the second falsetto singer what's Frankie Valli I have the four seasons
RIP the great David Lindley!
Late for the Sky, Fountain of Sorrow and The Pretender are a must listen.
I think the original version of Stay was used in Dirty Dancing. However, Jackson's version is now just as iconic. JB is one of my most favorite male artists of all time. So glad you ladies got to hear it and love your reactions

Running on Empty. Same performance ty
Maurice Williams had the hit ‘Stay’ , I think it was in 1961 also it was one the Hollies very early hits.

This and Boston's Foreplay/Longtime are the greatest musical mashups.

Somebody's baby, Doctor My Eyes, and running on empty, are good hits.
❤❤❤
I think frankie vallie also did a version of stay, and david lindley did a great frankie impression in this....
The song is dedicated to his road crew and all road crews
This one is from the "Running on Empty" album
Jackson Browne- Lives in the balance, one of the best songs ever written, but sadly still as valid as it was back in 1986…😢…
Doctor my Eyes is a really good song by him
Since you asked for other Browne tunes, definitely check out another live performance "Running On Empty". Here he's playing the guitar, singing and having a good ol' time with the rest of the band, a stellar group of musicians.

More Jackson Browne please
He's a songwriter's songwriter.
I think he 4 Seasons made it popular
Still going strong
Joni Mitchell has at least two diss tracks about Jackson Browne (her ex), "Car on a hill" and "Not to blame"
I actually like the official released version better, however... I LOVE watching it live as it comes to fruition. It's pretty awesome.
He's the male version of Stevie Nicks for us oldies.
I nbelieve that the load out is his but Stay was written and performed by someone else but he included it in The Load out.
How bout "doctor my eyes" next?
Original version was in dirty dancing
Stay is not Jackson’s. He got permission to use it, and to change it.
It was the original by Marice Williams & Zodiacs

Should listen to Tim Foust ( from HOME FREE), sing Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow/Stay.
Always liked JB, my high school GF was so in love with him.
More goodness from Jackson Browne:

That Girl Could Sing
Of Missing Persons

I've always liked JB , just never knew the name of this song . Personally I blame the disc jockeys for this .
When the BBC was world class. Not so much now.
