As a metal head that also listens to tons of Indian Music, this scratches such an itch for me. I don't speak any of the dialects but I have loved the sound of lots of Indian music, especially the 60s psychedelic bollywood stuff and man, these renditions are so awesome.
I will forever be thankful to Andre for making this channel and his metal covers and introducing me to these awesome ladies. I have watched this so many times I know every detail of the video, every note he plays and every word they sing. A masterpiece.
According to my understanding "Jugni" in sufi poetry is the female physical manifestation of someone's enlightened spirit. In poetry "Jugni" is faced with wordly worries and desires and experiances the hustle and bustle of life and tempted by materialism, but she rejects all that. She acts and responds in a way that provides you with guidance, drops wisdom pearls, sometimes is desperate herself for guidance from the spiritual master and provides an example to follow; if you yourself want to become enlightened i.e become jugni yourself. The hook in this song is "Jungi kehndi aye" which means " That's what Jugni says (/would say)" The verses describe the materialism that this world is drowned in and Jugni is saying that you have to reject it.
The line that fascinated me the most was in the first verse " Even the water you drink has to come from the sky!!"... Very dense meaningful line, as all water in existence infact comes from the sky in the form of rainfall at some point, but that is not good enough for you it has to be labeled "Mana from heaven" (water from sky) before you feel happy drinking it....
Why are they accidentally better metal than a lot of what I've heard for 20 years? I appreciate you Andre, this is quality stuff that makes my day nicer. Also impossible not to fall in love with the wild energy of the Nooran sisters, they are primal.
Cause Indian scales and vocals are amazing entirely on their own. Supplement with some metal and you just get this fantastic combination. I've wanted to hear something like this for quite some time, hopefully India will embrace metal moreso in the future.
@@huzaifa-682 no it isn't. India is a massive country. There's already metal there, made by Indians. You don't speak for your entire country and are not the authority on what people should be passionate about.
This is seriously a metal genre we need. Sort of what many northern European metal bands has done with folk/traditional music. Hope you have paved the way Andre. And Shan Padman awesome job. Killed it.
To my Indian friends! This is an appreciation of your culture. This is just an awesome synthesis of Metal Music and pure Indian vocal power and passion! Jai Hind! This should really be a thing! Please do more collabs.
I read hammer of the gods about 35 years ago. I remember reading how Led Zeppelin spent time in India experiencing Indian music and that it ended up influencing physical graffiti and presence. Holy shit Jyoti was windmilling! I think someone secretly is a metal fan already, there has to be an official collaboration at some point this is too epic. Shan Padman was awesome, perfect fit to the song!
Spiritual experience can be found in many places. Music transcends languages and cultures. Metal knows Metal. This track alone has healed years of pain and suffering.
@@SongJiangShiJin You're right, and that's the actual meaning. The thing is that the word "fusion" has been a li'l overused, coming to mean (for many) the inclusion of instruments from other cultures.
Try 'bloodywood', they are not a female band but an upcoming Indian metal band, they are an exact fusion of metal and Indian music, quite similar to the above video, do give it a try.
Words almost fail me. Andre says Indian metal gives him joy. It gives me and vast numbers of others joy too. Yet again, I find myself saying he has surpassed himself. This is truly a wonderful track. It’s a work of art. It put me in a frenzy at the end like the sisters. It almost turned me into a whirling dervish. This Indian metal genre that Andre has single-handedly created is incredible. It almost seems as if it was meant to be. The two genres go together so well. This track should be an international smash - as should the others.

Holy crap. Caught myself headbanging halfway through without noticing. Joining your channel because of this and the one in SOAD style. I don’t know the culture but I plan to find out. Thanks for bringing this to UA-cam. I would not have found this otherwise.
That's sufi music, performed Qawwali styled. This style has existed for over 400 years now. Sufism arrived in India some 700 years ago from Central Asia. Sufism was deeply influenced by Central Asian shamanism, so despite being a branch of Islam, it incorporates certain non-Islamic elements. For example going into a trance-like state while performing music(much like modern metal), head banging and swirling dervishes. You can say this is the oldest form of metal.
I like the guy that sings in Hindi? The English speaking fella isn't bad, but the other guy is better. But OH MY BALLS, the blue girl is in the Dana Dan song.
Dude, it is time for a full-on studio collab between yourself and the Sisters. Full album release with lyrics in punjabi, hindi & English..and special guest Shan Padman. Maybe you could call yourselves 'Andre Antunes, Nooran Sisters + Shan Padman are FireLight Within' (just a thought) 😁
OMG... I did not understand a word but was transported to Indian Metal Paradise. Indian headbanging is amazing. Is this real? I have never been moved to tears by metal until now.
Have the sisters themselves seen or heard all these exceptionally amazing renditions of their songs from Andre? I'm sure the sisters have gained a sudden surge of new international fans.
Doesn't India have like a bazillion people? Someone out there get the sisters to react to the new wave of awesomeness that they're bringing to us through their music

This is so good it isn't even funny at this point. No sattire, memes, just badassness. From the vocals to the rythym of the riff and the accented crescendos from the sisters, this is musically, very well done for what most people think is a "joke"
Holy shit I don't know what it is but the energy of this make me tear up. There is just so much power in this. I'm currently struggling with depression which comes with a lot of emotional flatlining but this just speaks to me on a level I haven't felt in a while when it comes to music. I wish there was a whole metal album with these ladies, just amazing.
This kind of music is punjabi sufi music. And usually many pakistani and indian bands make this kinda fusion. Try listening to "Bulla ki jana main kaun" that song transcends you to a level of tranquility unmatched. The singer is Rabbi Shergill who beautifully matches rock with punjabi folk songs.
You know whats funny, I notice the same thing with Die Antwoord and the metal version of Fatty Boom Boom. When I listen to anything by Die Antwoord, it doesn't click for me, even the Fatty Boom Boom song. But, put some riffs in there and a heavy beat, and it kinda lets you see what they're actually doing with their rhythms. I don't know if they're working with silent syncopated rhythms or what, but you put it up against a solid grid of metal riffs and drums, all the complexity kinda pops out. And its the same thing with these Indian sisters. You still can't tell what they're doing, but it sounds insane. And I think thats why it sounds so good. Its like being successfully fooled by a magic trick.
When non-metalheads ask me why I like metal, I point to songs like this where metal has fused with another style and created something new and beautiful. I have said for many years that metal is the most versatile modern music style in the world, and there are still vast combinations of music fusion waiting to be discovered out there. I can't wait to hear what comes next
'Most versatile' is a strong title. It's really only great at anger or political commentary and pretty good at sadness. Joyful metal is like... tonal dissonance. Not dissing metal, but there are far more versatile musical styles IMO
Andre, it’s a shame that you weren’t able to get together to record an album with the Sisters. These incredible voices and your music are made for each other and I want to go to that version of reality where you give concerts together! It's incredibly cool, it makes my hair stand on end - it's such powerful music.

As a metal head that also listens to tons of Indian Music, this scratches such an itch for me. I don't speak any of the dialects but I have loved the sound of lots of Indian music, especially the 60s psychedelic bollywood stuff and man, these renditions are so awesome.
Are there any Indian bands that make this type of music?

One day the three of them will finally be in a studio together rocking out. One fine and glorious day. So let it be written, so let it be done.

Left sister is the most metal i have ever seen. The spirit is heavy within her. Sick riffs here!
I love that woman lol
And that's the icing on the cake, my friend. Wonderful background info. Thank you!
Thank you! Your explanation of what the song is about is what i was browsing the comments section for.
Thank you kind stranger for the explanation
The line that fascinated me the most was in the first verse " Even the water you drink has to come from the sky!!"... Very dense meaningful line, as all water in existence infact comes from the sky in the form of rainfall at some point, but that is not good enough for you it has to be labeled "Mana from heaven" (water from sky) before you feel happy drinking it....
I love this deep insight into the song!

I agree it's amazing, but he didnt single handedly create this genre. It actually already existed. Check out the band Bloodywood.
@@sirenamber I would still say this is wildly different to Bloodywood, because the Nooran Sisters are classically trained Sufi vocalists and can perform feats of vocal acrobatics that not many metal singers can.

Pure, unadulterated metal. What a beautiful marriage. The ladies are even head banging!! Brings a tear to the eye.
For those interested, there’s an amazing metal band called “bloodywood” from India and they pretty much do the same exact thing
Thanks for the rec!!!

I wish there was a whole metal album with these ladies, just amazing.
I do the same with depression. I'll feel an intense emotion suddenly and tear up.
It's the ability to not give a shit and completely lose yourself in something.
Its natural detox of the spirit, fusion of hardcore spiritual expression can only be perfected with metal
Do Yoga , depression will evaporate 😁
Why is this SO GOOD?! Those sisters go hard and Andre is genius as always. 10 out of 10
You know whats funny, I notice the same thing with Die Antwoord and the metal version of Fatty Boom Boom.
I'm addicted to the Nooran sisters' videos with André Antunes.
When non-metalheads ask me why I like metal, I point to songs like this where metal has fused with another style and created something new and beautiful. I have said for many years that metal is the most versatile modern music style in the world, and there are still vast combinations of music fusion waiting to be discovered out there. I can't wait to hear what comes next
busca relacionados con folk: Metal + Maorí, Metal + Tunez, etc...
i agree
'Most versatile' is a strong title. It's really only great at anger or political commentary and pretty good at sadness. Joyful metal is like... tonal dissonance. Not dissing metal, but there are far more versatile musical styles IMO
But metal doesn't need to fuse with anything. It is its own style and distinctly European.
@@WinterInTheForest metal is a great music vehicle, that you can go wherever you want
We seriously need an album-length collaboration between you three. This is fantastic.
I couldn't agree more. Get a good metal producer behind it, and you'll have a record that'll make both parties a good chunk of money and fame.
Jyoti headbanging so hard, man had to move the mic out of the way. Incredible.
Andre, it’s a shame that you weren’t able to get together to record an album with the Sisters.
