There definitely can be a difference between the sounds coming out of amps. My H6PRO sounds warmer on the GSX 1000, and brighter on the Schitt Hel 2. I’m not a sound engineer so I can’t answer your question about the UAC1.

Question, I have Hel 2 with H6pro (closed) connected to ps5…have you tried both USB and Optical, which connection gives the better sound? Of course optical will use a hdmi audio extractor. I tried both…gaming for about a week straight on usb and week or so on optical…to me went back to usb by mistake and I thought I was getting a better sound image. Example…CoD MW2 …someone upstairs sounded like he was upstairs…I have always thought optical would sound better. What’s your take?
The H6PRO on the PS5 doesn’t require an amp. It’s only 32 ohms and you won’t get any better sound signature from it that way. The H6PRO is a bright headset, and the Hel 2 would make it brighter. The GSX 1000 will make it darker. I have an audio extractor, but I’ve never used it on my PS5 with the H6PRO. I think what you’re doing there is overkill. Just plug it into your controller and enjoy. Yes, the amp can handle it. I’ve heard those rumours too. I’m concerned also. I haven’t had any problems with mine, but I don’t use mine daily. I’m sure I’ve had mine around 8-10 months.
Even the dualsense gets the dt 1990 very loud indeed. It can power very hungry headphones, though it might not sound as good as through a dedicated amp, it still works well without.
@@District.24 In my situation I’m plugging the 560s right into my LG C2.It’s incredibly loud.Usual volume is around 12.I also connected it to my PS5 controller but I notice it was a bit less crisp and more smooth out. I noticed running tvs app like HBO audio to 560s were more detail than running the ps5 HBO app.Do you know why that’s the case?

You don’t need an amp for the PS5. If you have a modern mobo you won’t need one for your PC either. Having said that, amp/dac combos have some nice features that you may want to utilize. Start without an amp then upgrade as needed.

There’s too many choices for PC. I’m not experienced enough to give you a recommendation on the PC side. On the PS5 side you have the Schiit Hel 2, but like I said you don’t need an amp for the PS5 - unless you’re rocking a 300 Ohms impedance headphones.

Because I tried the displayed ones, the ear cups were comfy but i had a feeling of tension on the head band compared to my hyperx cloud 2 so I was wondering if it gets better overtime. Thank you
The clamping force is not a problem for me, but we are all individuals. The clamping force of the PC38X was an issue for me. You’ll have to decide if this one is too much for you. You can always break them in.
Im really struggling to get any directional audio playing mw2 on the ps5 with the h6pro connected to the controller. Tempest audio is turned on but i can never tell if the sound is coming from above or below.
I don’t play MW2 so I can’t help. I play Battlefield V with my H6PRO, and the 3D audio is exceptional. Does your game have a 3D audio toggle, in the sound settings, like BFV does?
I am having this issue with the HEL 2. The directional audio is very inaccurate. When I plug my Fiio FD5 into the controller it sounds better. So I am opting for a cheap UGREEN sound card adapter so I have an input for my mic. Will update.

Depends on you ears. They'll work without the amp, but if you find the volume level to low for your liking then you'll require an amp. I use the H6PRO on my PS5 with no amp, but I use my HD58X on the PS5 with an amp, because I find the volume level too low.

Sound is subjective. I have the 58X. I use it with and without an amp, and I still don’t like the sound signature compared to my H6PRO, which has lower impedance.
Impedance is a headphone’s resistance to electrical current - measured in ohms. 32 and lower ohms devices are paired with devices that have built in amps - consoles and motherboards. Higher ohm devices require external amps. General speaking, devices with higher impedance and adequate amplification will produce a more desirable sound. But not for some people, because as I said earlier: sound is subjective.

No. I’m saying higher impedance headphones/headsets, generally, produce a more desirable sound, but there is no guarantee you or I will like that sound, because we are all individuals. At the end of the day, regardless of how expensive the headset is, the user must enjoy the sound it produces for it to be worth owning.
When you plug it into the PS5 sound will pass through it, so yes it technically works, but the sound will not be its best. You’ll need an amp to draw out the best quality sound. People often buy headphones with higher impedance because they offer the nicest sound when supplied with sufficient power (amping). But you need that amp.

You could buy HyperX 7.1 Surround Sound Card. I got this from HyperX Cloud 2 headset and now I plug all my headset to this even my wireless headsets through 3.5mm cable. Really great sound. I have one of those small DAC/AMP and I tried with PS5. It sounds great but I feel sound stage is quite wide compare to HyperX. HyperX 7.1 sound is like small/medium kind of stage sound that little bit more detail and close footsteps sound. I was going to get Steelseries Nova 7X or Astro A50X but I am extremely happy with this sound combo with HyperX sound card
Potentially. An amp can give you more volume. More volume can give you better clarity, which in turn can help you pick out footsteps better. But you would only use an amp if your headset required one.
Had a G6, wanted a Hel 2 but ended up getting a Qudelix 5k - works great with the PS5, has a better mic input than the G6 and as a bonus is a fantastic, portable, bluetooth DAC/Amp :)

An amp is suggested. I’m only aware of two amps that work on the PS5: Schiit Hel 2 and Schiit Fulla 4. Make sure you ask the manufacturer if there amp is PS5 compatible before buying.

If the 1990’s impedance is 32 ohms or less then no amp required. If it’s above 32 but less than 100 then it depends on how low the volume is. You could do it if you wanted to. But if the impedance is above 100 ohms then absolutely need an amp. On PS5, Schiit Hel 2 comes to mind as a starter.

Just ordered myself a HEL 2. Are you able to connect it to any of the USB ports on the PS5? I like plugging things in the rear USBs.
You need to use the port in the front of the PS5 for the Schiit Hel 2.

The PC38X’s volume level is an improvement over the Game One, but not as loud as the H6PRO.

I recommend you use an actual gaming headset. If you want wireless there are plenty of options like the Corsair HS80 and HS65.

Ok nvm, found out the issue was that it was just super low volume and that I needed to turn on "Host Volume Disregard"

Good headset, Bone Conduction Headset Gear Perk - that’s all I use on the PS5, and I’m smoking fools. On PC, you can always do a custom EQ.

If the 1990’s impedance is 32 ohms or less then no amp required. If it’s above 32 but less than 100 then it depends on how low the volume is. You could do it if you wanted to. But if the impedance is above 100 ohms then absolutely need an amp. On PS5, Schiit Hel 2 comes to mind as a starter.

@@ronnienewman8079 240, eh? Whoo! Big boy. You’ll need to fire off an email to Schiit and ask that question, but I can tell you this: the Schiit Hel 2 is PS5 compatible. I own one. There are so many amp/dac combos out there, and I’m no expert. Schiit make good products. Get the best you can afford, but don’t skimp.
