Just a suggestion about the exhaust on your new generator: put a new pipe on it. That exhaust pipe is almost squeezed shut. If you replace it the generator will run a lot more freely and it will also prevent future problems. Also in regards to what another viewer wrote I too am really thankful for how well you guys treat your animals including your bees and the concern that you show for them and their well-being. That is something that shows me what kind of tremendous character you guys have. One final thing: I don’t know which one of you is doing the drone footage but it really adds to your videos. You are doing a great job with that.
I think this may be the only channel I have ever seen where there are no hate comments. You have built a loving community and I’m so glad I get to be a part of it!
If you have any questions on your gen for testing/operation feel free to shoot me a pm. I've worked on diesel gens for offgrid homes and remote villages for 10 years and I'm located in Wasilla. There's a few tricks and tips to avoid premature failures and speed up troubleshooting if there's an issue.
My husband and I want to compliment you on the way you care for your animals. We have watched a lot of shows and UA-cam channels on off grid/homesteading. 100% your way of caring for the chickens is so important and shows how happy they are with egg production and their general welfare. Thank you for that and the advice of the things you feed and the little extras you do. Absolutely amazing, have a great day.
Eric, you now have a Kubota powered generator, looks like a Model D1105. It is a very durable engine; with good care it will last a long time. I've been a Kubota industrial engine dealer for many years...like fifty years. So wish I could help you with the maintenance and installation. Unfortunately I'm from Ohio...a long way off. Generator looks like it could be a Stanford Newage make. I have D1105 Kubota engines with over 20,000 hrs.' out in the field with very little repairs done other than regular maintenance. I watch your videos religiously and appreciate them very much!
On the theme of “quality of life” your videos bring that concept to many who cannot experience Alaska first hand and get to experience the last frontier through your channel. The nature scenes are phenomenal and your homestead skills are excellent. Thank you for making these videos.
Arielle, I so admire how well you take care of your chickens! You care so much about their comfort, well being, and quality of life. Not many people would take that amount of time when thinking about chickens. You have a wonderful attitude and a kind soul. Those chickens don't know how lucky they are!
I'm in awe with your photo sense! absolutely gorgeous shots of the awesome world around you! So realistic - I'm shivering - for real. Thank you for sharing your efforts..you (and your critters) are so appreciated...always!
Cautiously waiting for an interm puppy for your beloved dogs. Nothing breaks your heart like losing a Good Boy, but a puppy that they teach the farm rules is a legacy.
Amazing scenery, I never grow tired of Alaskan videos. Those chickens eat food that is better than what I eat. Thanx for taking such good care of your animals. Salute from Florida.😃
Nice score on the new generator. Can't wait for the new build at the new cabin. Awesome cinematography Ariel. As for the eggs you know there worth gold now right 😃. Blessings to you both. 😊🇺🇲
I know the chimkins appreciate the extra effort. My girls get so excited when I mix up a bunch of warm yummy favorites - potatoes, pasta, meats, fish, eggs...
Eric is certainly a jack of all trades! He knows how to fix things consistently! I wonder how he can know so much. You are so lucky to be able to have this life in Alaska with each other and your animals! You take very good care of each other! I love your videos, thank you so much for sharing! ❤
I cheered the moment that generator cranked over. You blow my mind sometimes, Eric. That monster is going to be essential at the new property. Only you two can make a cooking show in Alaska and I love it! Your videos are always fun and enjoyable, even though I know it's cold as the Dickens out there.
for any Diesel generators, before hand ask your friend for a repair manual, 2nd get some glow plugs that works with your generator and 2 extra mini starters lastly get the oil before hand.
I think there is nothing more magical than snow sparkling in the sunlight. I grew up in Colorado. We went skiing multiple times every winter. Many of my most beautiful memories are of white sparkling snow, fluffy white loaded evergreen trees and pink and purple sunset skies. you have managed to capture my memories in your videos. So beautiful! Thank you!
I don't know if this will help but we used to save any left over grease and cracklings and melt it with peanut butter and then mix in corn meal until it forms a nice consistency. You can add sunflower seeds, flax seed or sesame seeds to it as well or oatmeal. We called it Bird Pudding. But it's really just homemade suet. Hope that helps!
You both are just amazing! The way Ariel remembers so carefully all of the details about the bees and the chickens is impressive! and Eric, I feel like there is no project you can't figure out- you both are just lovely!
That siding on the cabin really made it look so cozy and homey (first shot in this video). Don't know how those chicks take that cold, but, they do. You guys got it together!
Bo and Bandit have the best life......wonderful parents and a winter wonderland in which they can cavort or just walk along casually. That slow motion run of Bandit was the "cats meow"......and of course I can't leave until I say hello to kitty who also seems to have a great time in the snow. Thanks again guys for a great video. Stay safe and stay strong.
My husband is a mechanic and there is a probe attached to a stethoscope type ear buds that allows you to listen to engine noises- might be helpful for listening to the hives without disturbing the bees.
Great video almost hour long...love that. When new generator started I yep haw with you ....lol...so happy it is working. Love chickens and that recipe on feed. Ya do a super great job. Prayers for Bandit...bless his heart, they both make me so happy to watch. Again tks guys and much love from NC
Amazing teaching on what you feed your chickens Arielle. And your knowledge on bees is great. Sorry Bandit has some kidney problems. The snow scenes looked beautiful. Good job getting that generator up and running. The Turkish bagels looked good.
Your videos are so beautiful ! You will really like the new diesel generator .. Beau and Bandit are great… Kate my German Shepherd loves watching them.. her Alaska dog friends.. take care, from Sonoma County
Love you guys. Can’t wait for the next episode. Your love and respect for each other is very inspiring. With all that’s awful with our nation, look forward to all your videos. Would love to have you as neighbors.
I don’t mean awful with our people, I mean awful with our government. I served 10 years active duty. The peace and comfort your videos provide is a blessing. After the fall of Afghanistan I was ashamed of wearing the uniform. Your videos help me focus on what is good and right with America, and our neighbors.
Been watching you for years. I saw the title and burst out crying 😢😢 I imagine my life in another universe could follow yours. But not this one. Hello from sunny Australia ❤
I love watching you guys. And I find you both so inspirational. And may I say that it is very apparent that you really not only love each other very much but truly enjoy each other’s company. Kudos! And your drone footage is absolutely stunning
Fermentation is partially temperature dependent . I’m blown away by your pictures and videography you really should publish a Alaskan Coffee-table book.
Oh wow! I really needed this! Just got back from the podiatrist and getting injections in my foot- now I can prop my foot up and enjoy time with you guys! Thanks!
Omg Arielle, once again you have outdone yourself in capturing the winter beauty! Drone shot above the cloud layer was breathtaking but the shots of the sparkling snow against the purple/pink sky was magical! Adorable Bandit ice beard and Beautiful Pepper with snow sprinkles.
I don't know if I could enjoy listening to anyone else talk about generators, chicken feed and sprouts!! I so enjoy u two and am always stoked when I see you've put out a new video....I don't think in all of your videos I have ever lost interest and not finished it!! And I always feel like I'm being educated and on more than just Alaska... I love me some Eric and Arielle!!! Im also excited about the changes to come....as always be safe!!🙂
I’m sure Eric is glad to get the new generator. I didn’t know what all the foods and the preparation you do to feed the chickens. I was glad to hear that the bees have survived the winter so far. I enjoy the bean sprouts too. The bagels look delicious. Until your next video, take care and be safe.(Judy NB)🌲🇨🇦
Bagels look delicious. I believe real New York style bagels are dropped in a boiling water bath for a few minutes, then baked. Very important step, makes them chewy and crispy.
National geographic ain't got nothing on you guys. Your photography and drone shot's are gorgeous ❤️. Been watching you guys for a few years now and bless you both, your amazing 🥰
Let me like it first…. now I’m going to watch it.
I usually do the same. Don't wanna forget.
Same
Me too
Literally me
😍😍😍
The way you guys care for your animals isn't just impressive it's really heartwarming.
im coming back in my next life as one of their dogs.

How nice of you to offer help!

The chickens were clucking happily when you fed them your gourmet meal for them :)
I love it when the snow is like diamonds sparkling in the air!
Oh wow 😲
that final shot is what Bob Ross would have seen and painted for the world to enjoy.
Much Much respect for the care of your animals
So nice that your dogs are so loved and so cared for.
Love the way you care for your chickens; the closing sunset was exquisite!!!
Just wow 😲
I've said this before, but if I come back as a chicken I want to be in Ariel's flock. No one takes as great care of their fowl as you guys do! 🐓 ❤
On the theme of “quality of life” your videos bring that concept to many who cannot experience Alaska first hand and get to experience the last frontier through your channel. The nature scenes are phenomenal and your homestead skills are excellent. Thank you for making these videos.
Love your channel and it is no wonder your chickens are so beautiful! You treat them so very well!! I admire how you care for all your animals.
The visuals on your videos are alway really good but todays was off the charts. The Alaska scenery is so beautiful
Those chickens eat better than I do.
Ooh I love these long videos. Thanks for being my favourite thing to watch each week 😊
Thank you Ms. Ariel that sunset brought tears to my eyes. Sometimes, not very often, God says "just because I love you."
The whole earth is full of HIS GLORY!!! Isaiah 6:3 😍😇☺
Exhaust has a huge restriction there at that 90* with it being all crushed like that. Pretty nice setup, and perfect for what you all need.
Agreed. That's an issue that'll need to be addressed
Arielle, I so admire how well you take care of your chickens! You care so much about their comfort, well being, and quality of life. Not many people would take that amount of time when thinking about chickens. You have a wonderful attitude and a kind soul. Those chickens don't know how lucky they are!
6:30…”I don’t know a whole lot about diesel generators”. Lol, with Eric’s incredible electrical and mechanical abilities he can figure anything out.
Awesome scenery photos of the beauty of Alaska. Truly amazing😀
I'm in awe with your photo sense! absolutely gorgeous shots of the awesome world around you! So realistic - I'm shivering - for real. Thank you for sharing your efforts..you (and your critters) are so appreciated...always!
The beauty of Alaska always shines through on your videos, simply amazing! I never get tired of seeing the colors and learning about the chickens.
I automatically hit the thumbs up because I know I’m going to enjoy your content.❤
Cautiously waiting for an interm puppy for your beloved dogs.
Nothing breaks your heart like losing a Good Boy, but a puppy that they teach the farm rules is a legacy.
Next project for you: making your own diesel from (used) vegetable cooking oil!
Don't worry about making the Olympics Arielle, just keep up with the great content.
Amazing scenery, I never grow tired of Alaskan videos. Those chickens eat food that is better than what I eat. Thanx for taking such good care of your animals. Salute from Florida.😃

❤️I love chimkins!❤️...just sayin'.Thanks for giving your girls a good life

What wonderful parents you are to all your animals!!!
Drone shots are AMAZING! I cannot believe how much care you take of your chickens. TOTALLY AMAZING!
I cheered the moment that generator cranked over. You blow my mind sometimes, Eric. That monster is going to be essential at the new property.

Those aerial shots above the clouds were spectacular! Also the snow glistening in the pink sky! Fantastic work Ariel 👍🥰
She has such an eye for it, doesn’t she?! Just fantastic ❤
The first year we were in Fairbanks the colors were pink. The next year they were golden. It was a privilege to be there for certain
Mind is blowing ✨
Some really awesome footage of God's handiwork 🙌💖⚓
Great video and always useful information 💞
Probably don't have to tell you but be sure to have a few replacement hoses, filters and belts for that awesome generator
I don't know if this will help but we used to save any left over grease and cracklings and melt it with peanut butter and then mix in corn meal until it forms a nice consistency. You’re the only Chanel on UA-cam where literally (not figuratively) every video is better than all previous videos.
That siding on the cabin really made it look so cozy and homey (first shot in this video). Don't know how those chicks take that cold, but, they do. You guys got it together!
I see what you guys are really doing. The chickens's diet is in reality just pre-seasoning and pre-stuffing the birds. Smart, lol.
WOW BEAUTIFUL SKY … GOD BLESSES US WITH WONDERFUL COLORS
Thank you for a beautiful hour! The sunset was worth your run😂
My husband is a mechanic and there is a probe attached to a stethoscope type ear buds that allows you to listen to engine noises- might be helpful for listening to the hives without disturbing the bees.
The shot at 41:35 and on is beautiful and great camera work
I absolutely love this channel!! I love all the cooking you do 😊 I would definitely watch if y'all had a TV show lol Love from West Virginia 💛
Myacoba beans are my absolute FAVORITE. You can use them for ANYTHING. Very versatile bean for your pantry.
Spectacular sunset at the end Arielle!
Hello, beautiful shots of the surroundings of your home. Excited for the move to the new place. Grace n KY
Sure was good to see the dogs on their walk in the snow, and Pepper also enjoying the snow

Injections in your feet sounds awfully painful! 😮
Your chickens and dogs eat better than most people through out the world.

Good Job Eric getting that generator started. A little knowledge goes a long way and you got it.
Awe...Bandit.....prayers for this beautiful guy to overcome and live his best life
The drone footage is astounding! Thanks for sharing the beauty!
Erik knows a lot about building and fixing things! 👍👍
Wow, that sunset was spectacular along with the drone footage! Those are the most well cared for chickens❤ the bagels looked amazing
Your closing scene of you running to your camera in the snow. The heart of a true photographer.
Just can’t tell you how enjoyable the vlogs are.
WOW the scenery is incredible! What a beautiful place to be. Even in the harshness that winter can bring there is so much beauty.
I’m sure Eric is glad to get the new generator. I didn’t know what all the foods and the preparation you do to feed the chickens. I was glad to hear that the bees have survived the winter so far. I may have to save this video just for that sunset shot. That's one of most beautiful natural shots I've ever seen. It's absolutely surreal.
Love the chickens!
National geographic ain't got nothing on you guys. Your photography and drone shot's are gorgeous ❤️. Been watching you guys for a few years now and bless you both, your amazing 🥰
You can spout lentils, too! Heck, there's lots of stuff to sprout!
Beautiful photography. Thank u for sharing
