  • Hugo's Cellar is steakhouse located inside the Four Queens hotel on the Fremont Street Experience in Downtown Las Vegas. The space is nice, they have a lot of high end service touches, and the food was very good. However, I had a weird experience at the end of the meal which impacted how I view the restaurant. At the start of this video, we walk you through the physical space starting at the back and going to the front to show you what it is like. On this channel we never make you watch us eat, so after that I show you still photos course by course. While doing that, I talk about what was included in the meal and what I enjoyed. I also discuss how the service experience changed over the course of the meal. Please share your comments and questions in the Comments section below-- we would love to hear what you think about Hugo's Cellar or wherever your favorite Vegas steakhouse happens to be. Please also see our video of the nearby Chicago Brewing Company since it is a great place for a cigar and a drink before or after dinner. I came across your video by accident. I often went to Hugo's when I was younger and enjoyed Las Vegas during the 1970s and 80s. I'm 64 years old now, but I used to go to Vegas several times a year in my twenties and thirties. And before that, I went to Vegas with my parents as a child in the mid-1960s. Vegas was a much, much different town than it is today. The last time I went to Vegas was before the Mirage opened. I saw Vegas was beginning to change, and I didn't care for it. Yet, I will always remember my memories of Hugo's and the meals I had there. Hugo's was the best of the old-school restaurants. The service and food was impeccable. Their salads are to die for. What you experienced a year ago at Hugo's was the same for me decades ago. I remember the flower-shaped soft butter, sorbet, and warm towels that all make a difference in fine dining. I'm delighted that Hugo's is still in business after all these years. Vegas was a much more exciting town when run by the Italians compared to the corporations that run it today. Classier. Elegant. Cleaner. Today's Vegas is something I wouldn't be interested in. But I loved watching your video, and it brought back beautiful memories. Thank you.

Thanks so much! I get what you are saying. There are actually still quite a few places left in Downtown that are like you describe. Top of Binion's and Oscar's Steakhouse both very much have that old-school feel, and we have videos on both of those. Places like El Cortez and Plaza also run comps more or less the way they were done 20-30 years ago.

It was good. The food was great. I just wish it hadn't taken so long to see someone to get my check and leave!
