Thanks for the video! I started a project to convert to an AT screen for the purpose of hiding my Legacy Focus SE's. In my case I did not build a false wall but decided to hang my screen from the ceiling using hinges, leaving approximately 4 ft behind the screen for the speakers. I currently have my normal Aeon series screen [not AT] in place and the sound [while different] isn't exactly terrible. A good test might be to compare an AT screen to a non-AT variant.
I’m using an Elite Screen Spectrum Series Motorized AT screen and couldn’t be happier. I was worried the screen would have a noticeable wave to it from being rolled up but it is only noticeable when you turn on the room lights and creates a very slight shadow from the can light that sits just in front of the screen
What is the recommended distance between the face of the speaker and the Woven Acoustic Transparent Screen? Without any degradation in the vocals. Appreciate your help.
I think that might depend on the speaker itself. I don't have a definitive answer for you unfortunately. Maybe just not right up next to it like a few inches away. The reason being that the high frequencies are more easily affected. High frequencies are shorter and so being too close might affect them more than the bass frequencies.
Is there a difference between this screen and a regular screen of air flow coming off the speakers? Would the regular screen see small waves vs this screen letting the air pass through it? Looking to build my home theater soon and need the front 3 speakers behind the screen
@P T after living with the screen for a while, I think it depends on the speaker, the speaker's distance from the screen, and how far you are from the screen. In the end, it can attenuate the top end response, but not anything that can't be fixed with some equalization.
what does the sound response sound like behind a normal screen? I think that would be helpful. You have a "normal" screen at your disposal so I'd be curious if you ever do an update.
For the most part, a normal screen will greatly affect the high frequency response. Imagine trying to play music behind a vinyl/plastic screen. Something like that. There's nowhere for the sound to come through so only bass and midrange has a chance of getting through.
I am debating getting the Sabel 1080 vs the Aeon. About ~$300 difference. Both acousticPro's. Any advice? From what i can see the only difference is the edge, is that right? Dont know if $300 is worth a thinner edge. Thank you!! Great video!!
Has Joe ever had a bad hair day?? The answer is obviously no🤣😂. Elite makes great entry level screens. Very informative and educational video. Like we expected anything less from the man, the myth, the legend??❤🥰

Does it support Laser UST projectors?
Holy crap thank you. I seriously was on the fence about that scenario.
Thank you for showing and proving.
You are appreciated in DC
Can you use these screens with ultra short throw projectors

You could use the LaScalas behind the screan and small satelite / bookshelfs in front and rear for the fine details.
I've got the motorized tab tensioned version of this screen and love it! Still searching for a motorized, acoustically transparent, ALR to no avail
Yeah acoustically transparent and ALR...I haven't seen that done yet
@@joentell I think you can spend a ton of money and get a perforated one but I probably sit too close for that to work
do you think the remote control will work if the AVR is behind the screen?

How close do you have to get before you can see the weave/pattern? I have vision problems and I have to sit pretty close. Thanks.
They say that the AcousticPro UHD is compatible with an UST, can you confirm?
Can I use a ust projector with this kind of screen?
Sir is woven better compared to other acoustic screens.... what is your opinion......
Is there a difference between this screen and a regular screen of air flow coming off the speakers? Would the regular screen see small waves vs this screen letting the air pass through it? Looking to build my home theater soon and need the front 3 speakers behind the screen
A regular screen would not properly allow sound to pass without greatly affecting the sound

@@joentell Makes 100% sense. I just wondered how the data looked.
@@joentell I believe that but it would be still nice to see a test
I would have wanted to see a comparison between transparent and normal screens
A normal screen would let a lot less sound through.

Why do you think I don't post as often as others? I have to wait for the good hair days. 😂
Thanks for the video. I want to do something like this. I was just wondering does the speakers shake the screen from sound waves?
I'm sure it's possible especially if you have a front-ported speaker, but in my case, no.
Sir acoustic or non acoustic screen support more image quality
I think you sacrifice a bit of image quality when you go with an acoustic transparent screen. Not a lot, just a little bit depending on the type.
I am a diy person what's a good screen that I can get that not from a brand. Even if it's non motorised I have no issue
I know people have mentioned Carl's place.
Way too much light loss. If you've seen HDR on a Stewart ST130, most won't want to sacrifice the picture quality and brightness.
