2002 GMC Yukon XL Alternator Swap!!!

Our friend and neighbor A-Aron asked me to help him swap out his alternator on his 2002 Yukon. His old alternator was charging intermittently but the bearings inside the alternator were shot and grinding as it spun.

Alternator used - Duralast Gold PN# DLG1923-16-4
Belt Tension bolt size - 15MM
2 Lower Alternator Bolts - 15MM
Alternator Positive Wire - 10MM
Negative battery terminal - 8MM

It always easier on the knuckles when your remove stuff out of the way. I usually upgrade to higher amps where I replace an alternator. Those belt diagrams should come in handy lol. The next thing I would do on the Yukon, is flush brake fluid because the colour is kind of dark 👍
