To get maximum colour you will need one specific factor and combine it with a few others.
In this video we'll have a look at what brings out the most colour and how to combine it to get super colours.

My semps and jovis survive -40 celcius in Canada. They are remarkable. (None of the other succulents, of course.)

Oh wow, that is so cold 🥶 I'm amazed they pull through such a deep freeze. I knew they were very frost hardy but -40 is another level! Thank you for sharing 💚

Hi Kat! Tq for your tips to get colourful succulents. I've realised only recently abt d need for d succulents to b in cold conditions to retain their colours, dat placing them in d shade is not good enough. As u know, being in Malaysia is certainly not conducive to achieve dis condition! I've yet to implement my plan to blow cool air at my succulents - hav to engage a contractor to install a plug point or two for d air cooler unit in d first place, in d hopes dat'll do d trick! In d mean time, I've to b vigilant in observing which part of my garden gives d most shade frm d sun, and for how long. I get sun burned in d process! (D climate has become so much hotter than usual in recent months, even with d heavy rain, and at night, temperatures r still high!! It's due to d El Nino effect we r told.) I've resigned myself to see some of d more exotic succulents dying on me and maybe giv up trying to plant them again like d burrow tail succulents, d echiveria snow storm(if I remember correctly d name). 😢At least I get to feast my eyes on your gorgeous plants! 😊

It's a shame and i wish i could be of more help to you. Unfortunately it's difficult to fight nature and there's not much you can do other than have a greenhouse with fans to keep the humidity low and shadefactor that would prevent the burns😔I do hope you will find a way 🙂💚🤞🤞🤞If there is a local succulent grower nearby, see if you can visit them and look at their set-up. You may be able to score a few tips 🙂
