The TXG UA-cam videos have dramatically improved my game off the tee box this season. Thanks guys, the technical, data part of golf is one of the best parts of the game! Well done 🤜🏽🤛🏽
Great stuff as always. Learn so much from you guys. Explains why 10.5 degrees is the most common loft in golf shops as it seems to work best for around average speeds. However would really like to see a 10.5 against 12.0 at a slower swing speed. Would the 12 outperform the 10.5 as we slower swingers have been told?
Ian.. I watch almost all the golf UA-cam channels. And I've watched almost all TXG videos. I can say with 100% certainty, that you are the most knowledgeable fitter/golfer/expert in this space. No question about it. You know the most from everyone. And you explain it the best.
Another great video with oodles of excellent information. One thing to consider is the desired shape of the shots. Lofting up usually adds a little more "draw", while removing loft adds "fade". It helps to know this when considering the "standard" loft of the driver as your starting point. For instance, if the loft you want is 9º, a standard head at 8º, lofted up to 9º, might encourage a draw. The opposite is true for a standard head of 10º, when lofted down to 9º, might promote a slight fade. To the individual, there may be a preference.
I have recently changed my stock Fujikura Pro XLR8 61 stiff shaft for a MCA Tensei CK White X 60 but left the head at 8.5*. The ball would just fall out of the sky. After watching this I changed the loft to 10.5 and could not hit a bad shot on the range. I felt like I could just hit the ball as hard as I wanted and it would just go and go. I will see how things perform on the course later this week. Thanks for all of the great information.
@@andrewwolf4963 legend has it that he hasn’t finished that round yet. He’s been looking for his lost balls off the tee for over 3 years. I heard he’s just left the 16th tee
Great video. As an avid TXG watcher I am not sure why I had not seen this one before! Interestingly fitted only a week or so ago from an R9 10.5 head into a Ping G410 12* head with 2* up delivery giving circa 14* launch angle with c.2400 spin which seemed to come out higher and squeeze out some more height and carry distance. Seems my fitter might have got it about right! 👍🏼
Agreed i am also watching this in 2021 because I just purchased a Callaway mavrik driver 9 degree head and I wanted to make sure i purchased the correct loft
I made my first driver purchase here recently without being fitted. I chose a 12 degree M2 and I’m so happy I did. Maybe I hit a 10.5 better but I have no problem going 280 carry with my 12. I think it’s vanity that keeps a lot of people from going with a higher loft. They think it’s for seniors.
You're production quality is awesome! Love whenever Matt is hitting shots, great to see ball data - Fantastic stuff guys, your channel is for sure going to grow fast!
Brilliant, I now why my 12.5 driver falls out of the sky. I was so focused on the “launch angle” charts I saw, I didn’t consider the other variables. Getting fitted is the key.
Would love for you guys to show data from different swing speeds and ball speeds. The lower swing speeds would probably show better results with more loft.
Really useful information. I play a Cobra AMP Cell Pro driver set to 10.5 degrees. I bought it used with an Ozik Matrix Black Tie 6M3 Stiff. I really like the ball flight, which looks fairly medium to my old school eye, but most people I play with hit drives way higher than I do. Makes me wonder if I'm leaving distance on the table, given how different the modern ball is. Hoping to get to a launch monitor center soon to find out.
Nice vid. I’ve played long enough to judge my ball flight. Easy to tell if it balloons, or doesn’t stay in the air long enough. Sometimes we make things harder than it need to be.
Greatly appreciate all of your videos extremely well done as well as informative! Wish I lived closer I’d stop in for a fitting/ set analyzation make sure everything is correct! Keep up the great content
I’m hitting my 9 deg 260 but it launching 18-20 deg with low 2k spin. I’d really like to hit lit lower with higher spin to hit more fairways...any ideas?
Thanks for your feedback/info on Driver loft. Much appreciated. So if lower than optimum Driver loft gives rise to slice/hooks/dispersion, what are your thoughts on current irons with very strong lofts compared with those of few years ago? Does it follow that a 29* 7 Iron is potentially more likely to give rise to bad shots compared with a 34* 7 Iron...and so on for stronger 6,5,4 Irons? The good shots will produce greater distance, I accept, but what about less than pure shots?
Watched this! Went to fitter with open mind stated I want what fits me best. After many swings makes and shafts I picked up 28 yards in what I would have considered a ladys driver. 13.5 head 50gram shaft regular flex. 12.5 launch backspin 2050 and 240 carry.
A Scofield that’s awesome!!! Delighted to hear you got some amazing results. There are lots of great club fitters out there and if others follow your lead and approach the process with an open mind they can get great results aswell.
TXG Tour Experience Golf I asked this on another video, can you build me a driver and fairway metal if I can provide enough data? What would you need data wise? There are no good fitters in Las Vegas to my knowledge and you built my clubs, I would accept the final product.
Ping fitters told me I needed a 13.5 and soft regular flex. Some AHole in the background yelled out, “ That’s a girl’s driver!” So I stuck with my 10 degree for 2 more years hitting my very straight low drive. Finally relented and have been hitting a 12 degree for 5 years.
As a new & growing Channel, you should introduce yourselves by name and what you do and the name of your business at the beginning of each video. You have to assume that you are acquiring new, first-time viewers on every video. Keep up the good work!
I am in America and I’m new to Golf and I wish you could fit me where are you located I might take that trip overseas because I really love the information that you disburse no one is like you statistically when it comes to your videos
I have my driver set to 8.5 degrees, I have a pretty consistent swing but no matter what I do I can't get the ball flight lower of the spin down, I've had the ball actually hit and come back in the fairway and even when I put the ball more towards the middle of my stance I still only get about a yard of rollout. My drive averages about 240-250 total distance, and the high ball flight gives me huge issues going into the wind because it goes up and straight down barely 200 yards out.
I haven't a clue, never used a swing tracer. But since posting this I have gotten a 6.5 degree driver and am getting a much better launch and distance. And now I can put it back in my stance and keep it low and out of the wind when I need to, before when I tried that it would still go high.
The right term on spin and how it affects ball speed is more energy is converted into spin and therefore the drop in ball speed. Almost like brakes on a car works where it takes movement energy and turning it into heat. Energy simply changes form. Its not less energy transfer but rather changing into another form of energy aka spin
Thanks Heinrich! Just to clarify for everyone, what you're referring to is when we mentioned the 12º driver having a less efficient energy transfer (or less ball compression) than the 10.5º driver which produced a bit more ball speed with about the same club head speed.
Well thought out, great discussion and extremely valuable information at the end about compression and launch. Follow on question would be ball compression to accommodate that ball speed, with so many options what do we need to understand?
My old driver was spinning way too much and when I went to get fitted for a new one, all I knew was that I wanted to get my spin number as low as I possibly could. With the new driver I'd get the odd ball that would drop out of the sky and I had no idea of the concept of spin helping with stability. That simple way of explaining it makes so much sense - I feel like I have a clearer understanding of whats happening just with those few words
My OpenMind 4 degrees up means you have a lot of potential for distance but your main concern when swinging up that amount is what your dynamic loft is. If you’re leaning back on that thing or have it way to far forward in your stance and your dynamic loft is high 20s you’re losing distance. Your problem would be a ball that’s to high with to much spin and your miss would be a top shot. Good dynamic loft for your attack angle would be 15-16.
Garrett Nobles I drive the ball 250 carry but can hit occasional drives 280-300. My spin rate when I last checked it was still 3500. To me that is too high.
Hey guys, question for you. I got fitted for my driver last year, G400 max, 10.5 degrees set 1 degree up. I've come a long way since then (I was only play a couple months at the time). I feel my driver launches borderline too high and I'm sure I'm hitting a few degrees up. How should I go about trying the different degrees and assessing them to work out what would be the best for me, considering there is some degree of adjustability. Thanks in advance, love the content !
If you don’t live near these guys, you might try to find a driving range or a place that will allow you to use a GC Quad monitor by the hour. This will allow you to check your numbers while you make adjustments to your driver.
Loving this! Any chance of an explanation of the effects of spin loft with wedge play? I’ve heard it mentioned that 54 degrees of spin loft is the optimal number for highest spin??
This is a brilliant example of how adjustable lofts can harm your game .The macho thing about I must have 9 Deg of loft so we all tinker .Really does show we should get fitted
I got myself on a simulator and found out i was getting 4500-5000 spin on my driver, with an ascending angle of attack. Granted I fade the ball so it'll add more, so the pro there had me crank the loft down to 9 degrees from 10.5 and now it's at about 2600-3000 with a fade. Where I play is very windy, so it would actually help me but i need to get out on the course and test it. Because if i can't get the ball in the air enough then I'm not sure what i'll do.
I once heard that something like 17 degree launch with 1700 spin was perfect, is that correct? I imagine that is only optimized for one swing/ball speed. My driver is at 9 degrees and launches pretty high (15-16 launch angle) with low spin (2000). Should I drop it to 8?
My natural swing with the driver is about 4 degrees down and around 9 degree launch... I spin it about 4000 and have about 150 mph ball speed. I'm fairly good with irons and fairway woods, but I suck badly with driver... What do you guys suggest? My hcp is 4.6, but I currently play around 10 shots over par on my home course. I feel like my driver is letting me down a low of times... what to do?
As someone with Driver SS of around low 80s I have been told by number of Pros I need to look at loft 11.5*/12.5* so I can produce enough height/"hang time". Appreciate it's a generalisation depending on swing etc but yes/no? Also told that higher lofts produces less side spin and therefore slices. Lastly, as before, can you recommend Club Fitter near East Midlands, UK
At that swing speed it is likely you'd benefit from a higher loft of 11º+, assuming you aren't creating excess launch/spin in your swing in other ways. More backspin should stabilize the ball flight for you as well - as you saw in this video the low lofted driver produced the most curvature and widest dispersion.
If we were to continue the fitting to dial it in, the 9.5 may have ended up giving us that slight spin reduction we were looking for - or we might have tried a shaft change as well. For the purposes of this video though we just wanted to illustrate the differences in ball flight numbers when the only variable changed was the loft of the driver head.
Looks like the 8.5 is carrying the same as the others in spite of its low launch... I'm a +2 hcp older guy played on tour in my youth, ive benefited immensely by going with less loft/ and more softer shaft to get my distance up. But this I guess works for the expert players mostly
Just got back from range tried 8 degree on driver. Ball speed was 155/160 carry was 230, yards average. 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️Going back tomorrow gonna try 9 degree. Struggling at the mo getting driver settings reset correct ..
Can you recommend a good fitter in Las Vegas? Or could you fit me into a driver and fairway wood if I can provide enough parameters from my use of swing caddie 200?
TXG Tour Experience Golf I would like you make me a driver. When I give you my numbers you can pick model, loft shaft, ( I prefer 44 inches, which I will still choke down) kick point or bend profile. Your video with Lindsay Knowlton caught my attention because my numbers are close to her starting point on that video. I am 78, but play younger. About 13 handicap due to terrible short game. My swing speed with driver is between 88and 94. I could do 94 if I were sure I would not snap hook left. Pretty straight ball flight, maybe soft draw. Accuracy important. Maybe ping g400 max. Don’t know if I want to put 500.00 in a shaft since I may not own it as long as Lindsay will enjoy hers. Angle of attack as high as up 5 or 6 but I can adjust. Right now I am playing 9.5 callaway razr fit. I could hit it fine with the stiff shaft that was in it but needing more height, I put an adila nvs 55 A flex in it. Works ok but maybe want the advantages of latest tech. On track an last year, I had them put a 43.5, 70 gram 3 wood shaft in a club and got the following: 5 to 6 pos. A of a, 18+ dynamic, 16.4 launch, 2200 to 2400 spin, 88 to 90+ sos and carried it 215 to 220. Dispersion is ok with any club I’ve owned, after getting used to it. Anytime I push right it is usually more alignment issue than trouble closing club face. Fast swing produces duck hook. Downcock firm and fast for my age. Want this to be my last investment, at least for a while, so please get me in a setup that is best for me. Make fairway metal 18 degree. I normally carry it about 190ish. I have been hitting tm rocketblz 5 wood at 19 degrees Ozick 55 r shaft. Contact me by phone for credit card info and any additional questions. Bill Johnson. 702 579 5586 or by email at carbilj@gmail.com btw I am 5’ 10 and 190 lbs medium size hand 3and 3 eighths longest finger 7.5 wrist crease to longest finger. I am right handed. Currently playing ping g30 irons with graphite shafts with senior flex. Have golfpride lite 25 gram grips to get more swing wt. they are standard size. Like the wt. don’t like the texture so much. Have always enjoyed win dritech but again I want to know where the club head is. Club heads do not have to match nor do the shafts. You pick. Talk later. I live in Nevada so I will be able to use them ASAP. Anxious to get started. Bill
Just following on from this and your comments i'd love to hear your thought on different kick points in shafts to allow for the strike/swing speed.Im curious as im about to change my driver and was fitted for a G2 8.5 then an SLDR 9.5 as i hit UP not through - swing is pretty much engraved now so wondered how the shat can help me. ((My heart is set on a Rogue SZ BUT i will try others))
I've adjusted my 10.5 degree driver by increasing loft 1 degree and putting the lie angle at a "Draw" or closed setting. Would this be an appropriate combo of loft and lie?
TXG Tour Experience Golf Thanks for the quick reply. You have great content on this channel, probably the best when it comes to equipment testing and analysis. Keep up the great work.
Super interesting subject, this was done with different heads of the same model? What would this experiment look like with one head and using the loft sleeve to adjust loft?
TXG Tour Experience Golf I think you should do a video on adjustable hosels. The benefits, the cons and all of the ways you can use it to shape and adjust your shot.
Am playing driver with 8 degrees of loft but teeing it up high, 3inches. Now hitting centre or above and dynamic launch of 13.5 to 14.5 degrees. Spin around 1900 to 2200. Is this optimal?? Thanks
Just got back into golf since high school and I'm using a 8° Callaway big bertha driver. Would it make sense to buy a newer driver with an adjustable loft even though I am working out my swing still?
Nice video. Very informative. Can you recommend someone here in Orange County California where I can go for a fitting? Or are you guys coming to visit here? Thanks
Do you guys have any suggestions for someone that has a decending drive angle at contact? I'm currently .5 handicap in a 8.5 Titleist 915 D2 8.5 loft A1 setting. With a Aldila RIP 86 gram shaft! I've done this to reduce back spin. I feel I've lost some distant, do to weight of shaft!
Unlikely that any shaft will make a significant reduction in your spin numbers Cory, you may find something that helps it a bit but nothing will be as significant an influence as your attack angle. That being said, I think you could look into a lower spin head. If you can, find a location with a launch monitor to demo a 9.5º or even 10.5º Taylormade M3 with both weights moved forward. That is a super low spin head, and the added loft should help you achieve a bit more launch as well for more distance.
Hi TXG..a quick question..i'm currently using M4 driver with 9.5 driver loft...i'm having a thought to adjust the loft a slight higher..but if i'm not mistaken..if u adjust the loft higher..the clubface will slightly close..the doubt that i'm having is that i love to hit a fade for driver..however, after i adjust the loft a slight higher and try to hit it..i dun get the fade no more..does it really effect the direction of the ball if i adjust the loft?
Adjusting the loft up does close the face a degree generally so that may affect your ball flight pattern. Test it out though, you'd have to see what occurs in real life for your swing.
well, i've tested it out on the course..still trying to understand the twist face technology...Overall , i think my ball dispersion has been great after using m4 :) ..thanks
Really liking your videos! What are your thoughts on the Titleist 917 D3? It performs very similarly for me to how you described the SLDR, in that when you strike it well, it's brilliant, but when you mis-strike it, it's very difficult to control...
Depends on many factors but any time you have a lower spin head (CG further forward) you're likely to sacrifice some forgiveness. Good head though! Did you see this video we did on it? >> ua-cam.com/video/Zhfz29LvD0o/v-deo.html
Do you guys think the way companies advertise the adjustable hosel stuff is a bit deceiving?. I don't think most people understand that "changing the loft" is NOT really changing loft but simply opening or closing the face so you "square" the club when grounded at address. If A head is stamped 9.5 but really measures 9.8* that never changes....so if you lower the loft 1 degree all you really do is open the FA or if you increase loft you shut the face.......I always get drivers with exact specs bc if someone makes a major "loft adjustment" all you really do is make face 3 or 4 degrees closed or open which kind of sucks.....Hence the need to "cherry pick heads" and keep these things in neutral.....Getting wrench happy is not ideal bc you shut and open the face....not really change actual measured static loft
Ya, if a player needed 10 degrees I would guarantee if they cherry picked a head that was measured 10 and neutral or maybe a little open FA that would have better numbers than a head that was artificially "wrenched" to a certain loft. I know from experience I had best results with adapter neutral or a slight adjustment....If you get wrench happy it gets goofey spin and not as consistent
Heating World if you have this knowledge though, wouldn't this help if you can find your optimal for the weekend golfer for a longer period of time? And adjust accordingly as your swing changes or speed changes. Or if you don't adjust the face angle at address, the closed or open face could help shape your shot to where you need it. I just think it's a matter of explaining the adjustable hosel to the consumer. You're right, I don't like it explained as adding loft. Most golfers won't square the face angle. But with the knowledge of how it works I think it's extremely beneficial and helpful to adjust along with your shot.
Ya, having the info is no doubt the key......bc it gives people flexibility....if they hook or slice they can realize close or open the face to help. I just know that most people are clueless and if they have a 10.5 head and think it goes too high they just jack it down thinking oh great now my head is 9* but they also just opened the face like 2 or 3 degrees. It is much like when the hosels have a standard or draw mode....all that does to draw is make the club more upright lie when you go to draw mode. Overly upright likely causes toe misses.....The hosel thing is fine if you realize EVERYTHING you are doing.....it is just that when you attempt to change 1 variable you are always changing 2 or 3 things rather than 1. Every click of wrench you are changing face angle and lie angle....multiple variables. That is why Tour Issued Heads are measured for exact loft, lie, and FA.....they cherry pick the specs they want.....
I find your videos fascinating and I feel I have a little better knowledge to help me find a good club fitter 🤞 Is there any chance you could do something around fitting a female golfer (whole bag) with about a 16 hcp please? 😊
Just went back in the archives because I’m struggling with driver spin. Great video, but Matty at 150 MPH ball speeds?? I just can’t believe the difference
I'm pretty certain he was throttling back his swing to create the 150mph sample. However Matty's swing has gotten so much tighter and efficient over the last year. It's cool to see.
I hit my 9.5 with 15-15.7 launch carry 245-250, but it is super high, I cranked my driver down to 7.5 thinking that would fix my launch, but all it did was change my carry to 220-230... oof...
Quick question, i have 12 degrees of loft on my driver, ive had it a few years now and since improving as a golfer i now notice that it spins up in the air a lot... last time i checked it was around 3000+ rpm.... I don't seem to get much roll either... would it be worth me purchasing a 9.5 degree head? Thanks, Love the video's, this has become my favourite channel.
Make sure you test lower lofts on a launch monitor Peter, but if you're spinning it over 3000rpm with your 12º then going down in loft would very likely help.
TXG Tour Experience Golf thank you for the reply I tested it at the range tonight and it was at 1900 lowest and 2200 at the highest so lower than I thought with the ball launching at 16 degrees the numbers looked optimal. Keep up the good works guys!
So many questions !😄 When I was fitted for my M4,(at 10.25dg) I was also talked into using lead tape to help counter my left to right(slice 😄)shot. Would or should the tape benefit me ? Thanks so much !
TXG Tour Experience Golf was originally fit for D-type, but he told me if I wanted to get better and fix my path and angle the D-type would eventually hinder the shot shape of the ball if that makes sense or if I'm explaining it right ? Going to get refitted soon. Thank you for your response !
Interesting to see that Matt has apparently gained 60+ yards of driving distance since the time this video was published, would you consider doing a video on how he was able to do that?
You cannot make the conclusions from what you’ve shown. If you correct carry distances and spin rates to 150 mph, you’d see that there is practically no difference in carry. What will change is launch angle, and, like water flowing out of a hose, if you increase the angle, you’d get a little more carry for same flow speed. Spin loft IS the parameter to examine, but it would have to be quite high to get a decrease in distance, for this ~100 mph club head speed. But strike is king!
From our test: 8.5º was too low spin, 9.5º was close, 12º had too high spin. Sure you could knock off the 2MPH of extra ball speed that you're referring to on the 9.5º and maybe then the carry distances would be similar for all three heads - but what about total distance, stability, dispersion, performance in the wind, etc. The point of the video was to make golfers aware of the differences in performance that occur when only changing driver head loft, and that was accomplished.

Excellent video. You didn’t get too technical and the pace of explanation and the too and fro between Ian and Matt
Was spot on. Thanks.

Watching this in 2021 and my boy Matt hitting 315 carry + plus now. Crazy how much carry he picked up in 2 years
Agreed i am also watching this in 2021 because I just purchased a Callaway mavrik driver 9 degree head and I wanted to make sure i purchased the correct loft
Oh by the way i play golf one handed and have a angle of attack of 3.5 and a swing speed of between 75 and 85 mph

More fantastic insight into the science of Golf. This level of fine tuning allied to swing consistency is the way to go 👍⛳🏌️
You're production quality is awesome! Love whenever Matt is hitting shots, great to see ball data - Fantastic stuff guys, your channel is for sure going to grow fast!

You mean we're not famous enough yet?? ;) Thanks for watching Jon!
Jon Gee and what be like all the other boring channels?! cough me and my golf
What would you say are the correct driver loft, launch and spin goals for an 80-85 mph swing speed with a level approach to impact
I am in America and I’m new to Golf and I wish you could fit me where are you located I might take that trip overseas because I really love the information that you disburse no one is like you statistically when it comes to your videos
Awesome to listen to you guys . Great explanations on all your videos very easy to understand 👍👍
Thanks guys, great offer. Already a subscriber and enjoy all your videos, great leanings.
So if I have a -3.9 degree angle of attack and my driver is 9 degree loft. Should I change my driver loft to 10?
I have my driver set to 8.5 degrees, I have a pretty consistent swing but no matter what I do I can't get the ball flight lower of the spin down, I've had the ball actually hit and come back in the fairway and even when I put the ball more towards the middle of my stance I still only get about a yard of rollout. My drive averages about 240-250 total distance, and the high ball flight gives me huge issues going into the wind because it goes up and straight down barely 200 yards out.
What is your angle of attack?
I haven't a clue, never used a swing tracer. But since posting this I have gotten a 6.5 degree driver and am getting a much better launch and distance. And now I can put it back in my stance and keep it low and out of the wind when I need to, before when I tried that it would still go high.
Something I need to figure out. I'm just back into golf not played since about 2018 and I'm struggling to hit my driver
12:53
TXG Tour Experience Golf if its less efficient energy transfer where does that energy go to?
Spin...lol.
Absolutely fascinating.
I’m 4 degrees up. Is that too much?
My sub zero is set to 9 degrees. Clubhead speed 100-102 mph.
Should I reduce loft or adjust my swing?
Good idea! We'll add it to our list.
This is a brilliant example of how adjustable lofts can harm your game .The macho thing about I must have 9 Deg of loft so we all tinker .Really does show we should get fitted
Excellent information.
Enlightening! Thanks!
Is there a specific ratio goal when looking at ball speed/launch/spin?
Great stuff!!! Loving the videos guys. Thanks!!!🤓
Top notch as always lads
Great!👍 What if you are draw player. Then probably more loft is better beacause you are already delofting the club and ball is also back in stance?
Absolutely, depends on the player and swing conditions!
love this channel , keep up the great work and filling my head with tech lol , from Ipswich UK 👍👍
Check out our latest video Jose! Lots of good info on balancing spin numbers for distance versus accuracy.
Spin wise, would'nt 9.5 degrees better with the data set we have here ?
For sure William, get some numbers for us we'll do our best!
Bill
Ps auto correct got me again on the word trackman. That was a tm m2 head I got those numbers from
Ball speed 132ish
Smash factor on swing caddie 200 is usually over 1.45
i'm a senior golfter with about 80 club head speed avg, what loft should i use.
Gaming an M6 driver 9* head set at 9.5* , looking at getting the cobra F9 but do I get a 9* head & adjust up or 10.5* head & adjust down
Great insight. Thanks
Is there an ideal spin loft window or does it vary?
Tee it high and let it fly, would that help a low loft ,low spin set up?
I've adjusted my 10.5 degree driver by increasing loft 1 degree and putting the lie angle at a "Draw" or closed setting. Would this be an appropriate combo of loft and lie?
If you're trying to reduce a fade or encourage a draw
TXG Tour Experience Golf Thanks for the quick reply. You have great content on this channel, probably the best when it comes to equipment testing and analysis. Keep up the great work.
Super interesting subject, this was done with different heads of the same model? What would this experiment look like with one head and using the loft sleeve to adjust loft?
Different results possibly, using the loft sleeve to change it would have affected the face angle.
Thanks
Wonderful video-thank you
how do you choose lofts if the shop is not into leftie love and anything you want to try has to be ordered in
Just got back into golf since high school and I'm using a 8° Callaway big bertha driver. Would it make sense to buy a newer driver with an adjustable loft even though I am working out my swing still?
Awesome video! When fitting Matt, how do you adjust if the shaft has a RH adapter? Is it just opposite directions for loft?
Nice video. Very informative. Can you recommend someone here in Orange County California where I can go for a fitting? Or are you guys coming to visit here? Thanks
Love the content 👍🏻
You are the right men in the right job
TXG Tour Experience Golf Thank you very very much! Keep up the great work!

Do you have any recommendations for fitters/Builders in Sydney, Australia?
I'm curious as to a fine tuning by half degrees would do.
That driver head somewhere around 9.5º or 10º would probably have been pretty close to optimal!
Would you guys have a recommended fitter you know on Long Island NY?
Were these full swings back in the day for the dirtydog? He's really picked up some distances if they were!
Was dialing it down for this video
Agree. Tom Wishon has done an excellent video on adjustable lofts explaining the open/closed heads.
Heating World n7
I find your videos fascinating and I feel I have a little better knowledge to help me find a good club fitter 🤞 Is there any chance you could do something around fitting a female golfer (whole bag) with about a 16 hcp please? 😊
What is a knuckle ball ?
A very low spin shot
Didn't Hogan hit a knuckle fade?
Doesn't Matt hit with like 170mph ball speed -- what is this 150 stuff?
Oh -- now I understand. He ramped down.
150mph ball speed , what a change in 3 years
No kidding right. That's insane how much faster he has gotten
So 9-9.5 would probably be the best of both spin and launch angle.
do you want to do something on the M3 / M4
Yes we do, what kind of testing would you like to see on those?
So many questions !😄 When I was fitted for my M4,(at 10.25dg) I was also talked into using lead tape to help counter my left to right(slice 😄)shot. Would or should the tape benefit me ? Thanks so much !
Maybe slightly Charles, but the internal weighting on something like the M4 D-type would have a stronger influence.
TXG Tour Experience Golf was originally fit for D-type, but he told me if I wanted to get better and fix my path and angle the D-type would eventually hinder the shot shape of the ball if that makes sense or if I'm explaining it right ? Going to get refitted soon. Thank you for your response !
Does make sense Charles! If you work on your swing, you may find the D-type starts drawing too much for your liking.
TXG Tour Experience Golf thank you for the reassurance. I'm retired, so I've just got to put in the time. 👍
Question:
I have around 110-112 mph. My driver is a 9.5 degree. Is this too much? What is optimal for high swing speed?
Interesting to see that Matt has apparently gained 60+ yards of driving distance since the time this video was published, would you consider doing a video on how he was able to do that?
Pretty sure he was aiming to achieve 150 ball speed for the purpose of this test and therefore wasn't a flat out swing.
Matty is a great baller, but it would be helpful if you had a more average golfer demoing clubs. Not all of us swing 118 mph:):)
Don't most drivers come in 9,5 and 10,5. would have liked to see 9.5 in this testing and also swing speeds of 80 90 and 100mph
