Decatur is one of the best country cities to live in Texas. Decatur is located northwest of the Dallas-Fort Worth area. If you're looking for the quintessential Texas city with small-town traditions but also fairly close to DFW, then take a chance on Decatur!

    11:49 on a Wednesday night....
Drinking a beer, reading a book.... minding my own... sheriff rides by~
Closes garage door, shuts and locks front door.
😅 even writing THIS puts a target on my head.
    That's the truth.

Watch out for the Bruton’s. We are moving there in the spring. Building just off of Black Lake road!

Decatur has changed so much in the past 20 years how many restaurants probably aren't there anymore like k-bob's or the diner where the triplets were working at. And the restaurants downtown Decatur. And how many people in Decatur can remember things like marbles and Eagles movie rental place in Pizza Pro and the bowling alley that used to be in Decatur before a western store bought it and used it for storage unit

How are they with tiny homes in Decatur? We've heard NE Texes is usually pretty progressive when it comes to Park Models & such. In your professional opinion, how correct is this information, & does that trend extend this far west?

I wonder what is difference between country side and a rural area ?

I love the land but is this city diverse or “welcoming” to other cultures shall I say?

Is Decatur considered part of the DFW metroplex, or is it a little too far out there?

Yes it’s still a suburb of Fort Worth. And yes it seems a little far out if you would have to commute. But I love it for a country city!

I’d say Decatur is about the same as Dallas weather.

yeah as someone who has lived here his whole life i hate people moving here bringing the bs with them, even paradise is growing with the city folks moving there. where my grandma lives in paradise its filled now with homes everywhere as farmers have sold land.
