FYI, when he's taking the 6 clips out of the door panel that hold the window seal rubber thing; just slide the rubber part out. I went to the right, idk if it can go left. It did, however, make getting those clips out way easier since I could then just grab a pliers and use that to clamp and pull the clips out.
I just wanted to say you just saved me like $900. My replacement mirror was a little different and had bolts pre applied and it was a pain to get them off, but everything else was spot on and the idea for the cloth to catch the bolts in case they fell was excellent. Probably saved me hours. Thank you so much for making this video.
Excellent video, really helpful. You identified the possible pitfalls, so that I could avoid them. Got the job done in under an hour, thanks to these great instructions. Many thanks for your good work!
Thank you man I appreciate this video a lot !!❤ you save me a lot of money & I’m bout to get this done tonight since I already have the part for it! Amazing details on the video! 😎🙌🏽💯
With all the screws and clips you have a hard time removing, you have to wonder how the autoworkers put it together in the factory. Or did a robot do that?
@@CertifiedShadetree Oh, I thank you, I just ordered a new mirror for our 2017 Cruze and would have had to gone to a Dealer if I did not know about the screws.
Great video, I don't need to go that far with full replacement. I just need to replace glass and the retainer ring, and cover, any suggestions? The base didn't crack on mine.

I'd carefully pry the cover off first, then the glass. Pry the backing of the glass at each of the 4 sides and it should pop out.
Would it be the same for the other side?
Yes
Great video
Thanks! 🍻
