I know this is an old review, but thanks for this. I had a FoodSaver for over 10 years that, while not the fastest thing, worked fine until it just didn't, but I definitely got my money's worth. I replaced it with a Nesco that was America's Test Kitchen's #1 pick for this type of sealer and the thing is horrible; you have to squeeze it to get any kind of vacuum, if at all, there's no way to clean it (even the old Food Saver had a removable tray), and it is even slower than the Food Saver. This weekend Avid Armor was running a $100 off sale on the A100 and after seeing your review I took the leap. Hopefully my assessment is as good as yours. Thanks again.

I recently bought a Weston Pr0-2300 and what a piece of expensive scrap. The seals on yours look perfect. Mine would spark and burn the seals. I sent it back and went looking and found your video. THANK YOU!. I just ordered the model you have. Also I like how you got to the point without trying to get all flashy lol. You really sold it for me!

I bought the Avid Armor Maxima 2 and I just love it. It's really not even that loud and seals very quickly, its not as deluxe as yours but it works great. The only thing I would change is how it defaults to the "humid" setting, when I wish it would just stay on dry.

Sorry. Was looking at these, but not being hands free is a deal breaker. Why don't they have a cover lock down?
Thanks for info. Staying with what we have. Solid for over 10 years. Looking at what's new.

I like the wider seal footprint vs the very skinny Foodsaver seal bar.
Have a very old 'Tillia' (before it was 'foodsaver') vac unit that I can do a double item per factory bag trick with. You put like a pound of rice into a quart or half gallon vac bag, settle it out, then roll up the remainder of the bag and put it into the 'drip tray' / vac chamber, close the lid, vac and seal. Now you have space for another pound of rice in the space left in the bag, then vac and seal that section. You have doubled your use of the bag. I'm wondering if this unit has a drip tray / vac chamber big enough to do this trick?

Was considering a Westin Pro-2300 for power (932W) and seal bar size 16". Many said that it didn't stop the vacuum on manual instantaneously, making you estimate the amount of air left in the seal (for bread, etc). Pros vs the Westin: smaller footprint, lighter and can be stored on its back or side. Clear lid makes better bag positioning. Cons for me 12" bar, not as easily repaired (seal kits avail?), not as strong (?), and amount of bag waste on seal ends (2"/end).
Going to buy it to process quail for my business TullyRiverQuail

Any updates on this how you have been liking it. I was thinking of getting the food saver at Costco because way cheaper. Or is this the price worth it?

Quick question as far as internal liquids any issues with the seals or electronics?

Can you just seal? It seems unnecessary to run the pump when sealing if you are just sealing the bottom of a bag (making the bag)

When sealing it runs the pump for just a couple seconds to clamp the plastic for a good seal.

@@BlueRockAdventures Yeah, I guess it's just how they designed it. I watched their tutorial. It seems pointless to run that pum0 when you making the bottom of the bag.... twice the run time for nothing. Oh well.

Way to much background noise to make this video a joy to listen and watch

Can you only use bags and not a roll?

You can easily make bags from a roll. We just prefer buying the ready made bags. Thanks!
