A Vice-roy, means someone who is a representative for the king/emperor. In effect it's the person who governs a particular region in the name of the king/emperor. So, in this case, Cornelia rules Japan/Area 11 in the name of emperor Charles of Britannia. Euphemia is the sub-vice-roy, ie the next in command after Cornelia. Schneizel is the prime minister of the entire Britannian empire and therefore technically outranks Cornelia.
@@TheJerbol Chris literally asked what a vice-roy was, at the end of the video. Also Euphemia does have duties and responsibilities, it's just that Cornelia prefers to do all the work herself.
@@VolrinSeth they immediately told him what a viceroy was lol. then asked what a sub-viceroy does. euphemia has not been shown to have any official duties other than public engagements, in fact she's said herself she's just a figurehead
This show has great re-watch value, as there are a lot of details you cannot get on the first watch. Like Lloyd's password, he tells Suzaku in a previous episode is pudding. Rakshata calls him the earl of pudding because that's Lloyd's favorite food and how the show tries to indicate that they used to work together (They can also be seen in their younger years working together in one of the end scene photos).
i think you guys missed Nina's pivotal role in this story: her crush on Euphy (bordering obsessive, leading her to stalk Euphy in the gates) eventually led her to confess to Euphy; but that confession is something where Euphy learned something: she (Euphy) isn't worthless because somebody finds her of value. This lesson she (Euphy) applies to Suzaku's same self-view which makes him reckless and easily keen to die in the battlefield. Euphy realizes that if she can make Suzaku realize what she learned, maybe he'll also find his self-worth and thus save him; the reason why she (Euphy), too, confessed to him, albeit in a more imperative tone 😅. The seeming futility of their (Euphy and Suzaku's) mutual confession (i.e., from Suzaku's impending demise due to Lancelot's drained energy filler) caused Euphy to trigger Suzaku's Geass command (to live) and prolonged his survival until Zero arrived with the Gawain.
Schneizel is Prime Minister of Britannia, he's basically "president", under the Emperor of course who is the supreme leader but he's been extremely absent recently and leaves most of the governing to his children. Cornelia is Viceroy of Japan, basically governor of the Japanese colony. Euphemia is her second-in-command. There are several other princes and princesses, I believe the first prince and first princess haven't even been shown yet (they're the eldest), but they're irrelevant so don't worry about them. Don't worry too much about the organization of the Black Knights, just know that most of the known officer characters are basically leaders of their own divisions in the Black Knights and they have many small cells working in the background. The world is divided between 3 major empires right now, with no more independent states left really: The Empire of Britannia, the Chinese Federation, and the EU (Europa Universe I think?). China controls a large portion of Asia and EU controls Europe and regions around the Mediterranean I think, but I don't remember exactly.
Im honestly shocked at how well you guys are keeping up with the story, this is definitely one of the more complex shows you react to. Just keep paying attention and i think youll be fine and be pretty satisfied by the end.
I’ve watched plenty of reactions of this show and I think you guys might be my favorite. Very observant and analytical but also open-minded when it comes to something you don’t agree or are currently confused with. Your other reactions are good too, but it feels like this reaction series in general is hitting on all cylinders. The show fits well with your dynamic.
royal bloodline is simple but kinda nuts, charles has tens of wives and hundreds of children, they are ranked based on their birth order and all of them have the chance to inherit the throne. for example if a prince is the 10th heir to the throne, the 9 other heirs should either die or for whatever reason be incapable or unworthy to inherit the throne for him to become emperor. but in truth, they often eliminate each other to get to that throne.
I like this group because you can understand the political implications in the background... This is a political show with action. I would definitely like to see this group watch this shows spiritual successor Gundam 00 afterward.
I've watched Code Geass while it aired, and then rewatched a few times since(great rewatch value!!), but it had been a while since the last time. So, I've been watching you guys react to it, so good, right?, and I remembered how good this show is and ended up rewatching everything from episode 19 until the last movie, except Akito the Exiled and, yeah, now I'm freshened up, can't wait to see you guys reacting to future episodes! Thank you for your reactions, they're all so good!! :D
You got through the first 20 episodes! Next 30 are the sole reason people love this show so much. There is a lot of settup necessary for a show like this, and now thats through. It's 10/10 from here.
So what happened in this world is. American Revolution failed. Napoleon won and he ousted Nobles from Europe and Britain to Americas which became Britannia Empire. So there are 3 power blocs- Britannia, EU and Chinese Federation
Suzaku: "Freedom has to come the right way" Me: Was it right when they invade your country and systematically murder and discriminate against the Japanese?!?!?!
If you want more Code Geass, you can watch the OVA "Code Geass: Akito the Exiled". It takes place after the first season, but watch it after "Code Geass Lelouch of the Rebellion R2". It does go into what else is going in the world as Marketa was interested in. Then there is a film Quadrilogy that's its own separate canon but most of the events of the first 3 films are the same with some differences. You could skip and read the changes if you want. The final film is all new content but don't even look up the title until you get to that point
For shirley Lelouch should have commanded her to never remember him, tho that would cause issue cause she would always be like "who's that" even if she met him moments ago.
President Zelenskyy would strongly disagree with leaving. He’s been staying in Kyiv with his people while his country’s being invaded by Russia. What a G!
Dub: I thought she would end up hating herself Sub: I thought she would end up hating me herself Holy shit Japan hire some real translators your subs are always so bad
I'm pretty sure it's because the fighter jets in this world still run on conventional fuel, while the knightmares have the sukuradite tesseracts. And the lancelot is one of the first knightmares to fly.
The sub is better for Code Geass for one reason only. The Japanese voice acting for Lelouch is beyond phenomenal! It completed Lelouch as a character. The true Code Geass experience can only be fully digested with the original voice acting done for Lelouch. Tbh the English VA does a good job but does not do Lelouch justice. The depth of the character and how he is feeling which comes through in the voice acting is slightly lost in dub.
Normies please start reacting bleach till new final season dropps there's 366 episodes but half of it is fillers so you can skip it please. Upvote this guys.

They did more than work…. According to cecile
lloyd's love of pudding and working with rakshata are like the most hammered down points in the show, not exactly subtle details

I agree they 100% are not trying to at all understand anything about Nina. All they care about is making jokes about her and bashing her.
2 episodes away... can't wait their reaction ;)
Oh god, i know what you're talking about.
I have also been counting down to that lol
Oh yea THAT episode
It's really gonna blow them away

There are still some nations not under the big 3 at this point, other than that excellent comment
Nobody's touched Australia for some reason. I'm thinking spiders.
EU means Europa United
"Euro Universe"
Call me a sap... but that love confession always warmed my heart. And it's pretty much the happiest day of Suzaku's life...

NON SPOILER IMPRTANT INFO : The ova's and movies are in a separate continuity, a lot changes.
Can't wait for them to get to Season 2! They MUST keep a running count of how many times they say "WTF" in episode 1. I think I did around 20 times!
