USTAWI Global Dukers Fundraising

The Duker's Community Learning Centre is located in Embolioi, Mashuuru, Kajiado County in Kenya. Our relationship with the Maasai community of Mashuuru has deepened through two powerful surveys and multiple community meetings. Through these collaborative meetings, the community has committed to shortening the daily walk to water for all people, young and old, from 4 hours to 20 minutes.
Access to clean drinking water is the first step toward a flourishing community center. Two years of research have shown that drilling a borehole at the Dukers Community Learning Center will be the best solution.
The community's efforts have led to the building of a rough 10-kilometer road to the Learning Center, digging earth smiles to retain surface moisture, and they have now installed a rainwater collection system.
Partnerships with Rotary International chapters in the United States and Kenya will ensure the timely completion of this important project.
