- Indian PM Modi visited Russia recently and visuals of Putin and Modi sharing a warm hug were seen across the world. The U.S. immediately raised concerns with India over its Russia ties but INDIA - RUSSIA ties go back several decades, starting at a time when U.S. refused to interact with India.
Both nations have faced mounting pressure from the U.S. Russia faced sanctions, while India received repeated warnings against buying Russian oil. Of course, it had no impact on either nation.

Yes, this is the key element (i.e. finding solutions to End the ongoing violent invasion War of Ukraine) sadly missed and not discussed in this specific interview. One thing I've learnt from this war is, Russia is very adaptive. Some people say Russia doesn't stand a chance in a hot water with NATO, but Russia is unpredictable. Its difficult to say how they will adopt in such a situation.

I read a book about his travels as a kid growing up in 90s India. Very fascinating account of India during that time.
