I did quite a lot of leather repainting and re-dyeing on shoes & boots before. Shoes & boots were a big big thing for me last time. So from your many videos featuring this Kelly bag, I cannot find anything that even remotely indicates re-dye. No way at all, this bag looks as pristine and original as it came out from Hermès! There’re telltale signs and indications if work like that had been done, I don’t see it. I’m so glad you have everything properly inspected and authenticated now. It didn’t need to go through this but glad it’s been done now for peace of mind. I never had any doubts at all. What a great story time Kim! The buyer of your bag is a very very lucky person ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
Thanks Chris! If I had kept this bag for myself it wouldn’t matter either way. It becomes an issue when you try to resell, people will go off of what the expert says so I needed proof otherwise it was going to be super hard to sell. I’m really happy I was right and to have the papers to back it up now. 🖤🖤🖤🖤
@@kklvoescc So true! And if I’m a bag refurbisher…. I will NOT attempt to re-dye box leather! Hahahah!!! No no no way to achieve that kinda finish without being messy and sloppy. It shows! Every mm of your bag is authentic!
It is really gorgeous! I love how shiny it is and it’s GHW too. 🖤 I do understand why you have to let it go. Yes it’s too beautiful to be sitting in your closet. Omg! No way it was dyed 🧐 Oh Lord, that sacred me too. I’m so glad it worked out well now! Thanks for sharing your experience. 🖤
Reselling is SO stressful 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ much credit to those that do it for a living, because you need balls of steel 😅😅! I’m so glad it worked out for you! She really is a stunning bag and who ever gets her will be thrilled with their purchase! Much credit to you Kimmy for finding ways to get that sorted out!
Right?!?! I couldn’t do this for a living! Jaz has that personality that nothing stresses her and she just rolls with the punches. I think that kind of mentality is the only kind for the job. Which is totally not me! 😂😂😂
What a story! Glad you pushed through with your gut feelings Kim. It doesnt look repainted at all through this video and Ive seen quite a few repainted bags. Happy you can sell it now🙌🙌🙌
Thank you! The authenticater initially only had photos that made it seem too glossy and look dyed. With better lighting she was able to see the texture of the leather. I never knew how important lighting was so I really wanted to share with everyone. I’m happy it worked out in my favor. 🖤🖤🖤
Omg, that is so scared and stressful, glad happy ending. For Hermes bag definitely need to do Authentication. Thank you so much for sharing darling. Lesson learned 💕
Wow, what a story! I would be sooooo stressed out if this happened to me! Did Bababebi recharge you again for reevaluation? I hope you sell it quickly Kim! I love your Kelly 28 Togo! I'm expecting a Constance 18 from The RealReal (gift) and I'm so nervous about the condition of this bag and whether if it's authentic or not. I hope it was not redyed and is authentic - I really want to send it into Hermes for spa service for authentication rather than sending it for picture authentication via Bababebi but am afraid that it'll be confistigated if it turns out to be a fake. I don't know anyone with a Constance to compare it in person. Thanks for sharing Kim! ❤
She did charge for reevaluation based on new photos. Reevaluation on the existing photos were free. A Constance 18!! I’m so excited for you! If you’d rather go to H directly, I would have both you and Kristina compare it to yours and her existing H bags to see if anything triggers alarm bells. You can tell a lot from touching it so just look at it super carefully. If you are confident then take it to Hermes. If there are any questionable points then go through bababebi first especially since you don’t want to miss the return window. Let me know how it goes! I am so so curious what you got! 🥰🥰🥰
I didn’t realize bbbb comment on whether is the bag is been painted…is that something additional that you can request? Such an interesting story!!! Glad things worked out!! The bag is stunning!!
Glad it worked out for you! I bought a vintage box Kelly as well and haven't gotten it authenticated yet. This video reminds me I should really do it soon.
Wow, that's crazy! So glad everything ended up working out. If I didn't just go on a shopping spree in Europe I'd be so tempted to buy your box Kelly! haha. Really good to hear that things worked out in the end and hope you have a quick sale!
It was so scary to think it might be a dyed bag but I’m super grateful that the former H artisan guided me in the right direction. It’s such a gorgeous bag. Hate letting it go! 😭😭😭
Ooooo sheeesh!!!! What a MESS!!! Super nerve wrecking. SO true with authenticating every bag. I authenticate everything even if I buy from Fashionphile. I'm glad it worked out @ the end Kim
You are a smart girl. I think I got too confident. I honestly could tell immediately it was 💯 authentic but I never thought to check for undisclosed redying. Luckily this one was not touched up but I will definitely be more careful in the future.
Kim you’re an amazing story teller 😍📝📚I was so into this story 😌 That was such scare 😱💔 Up close there isn’t one trace of a dye job except maybe of an owner that cared for their bag greatly. You know the more I look at it, the more I see the elegance class and expensive quality why people appreciate these ☺️ If you weren’t so enjoyable and sweet to listen to, I probably would have never known 😬 Bravo! So happy the truth finally came out with your persistency you felt inside. That’s a very special bag I know will sell fast now with this authentication! Amazing three videos and looking forward to many more 💌😊👏🏼💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕
You are too kind! 😊😊😊 It really was a traumatic experience for me because I am always so careful with my purchases. I just hope it helps anyone considering getting these bags. I’m so glad you can see why these bags are appreciated so much. They are truly beautifully crafted pieces. Thanks again for you kind words! 😘😘😘😘
This was a luxury suspense thriller!😲 So happy that it worked out for you Kim!!!There are so many preowned bags that I’ve lusted after over the years but I always have the same thought that even expert authenticators sometimes get things wrong. 😬 I’m so happy that bababebi was only concerned about getting it 💯 correct and not about saving face!!! True professional!!!
I’m so glad that came across how professionally Bababebi handled it. She is truly not at fault for the wrong verdict on the first one. It is up to us to send adequate photos as per her very clear very detailed instructions. She can only assume directions were followed and base her authentication on what is submitted. For her to be willing to look at new photos without bias even if it means overturning her initial verdict was mind blowing to me. That’s what I call true professionalism! I will never take authentication for granted again. I knew the bag was authentic, but never thought to consider undisclosed touch ups or redying. Lesson learned!
✨Such great advice regarding authentication. My friend purchased a black box Kelly 32 from the reputable Ginza XiaoMa. Ginza XiaoMa claimed it was in original condition. He was later told directly from H that it had been dyed and couldn’t be spa-ed. It was a collector’s nightmare. You’re right-always authenticate immediately!
So sorry about your friends bag! I had to learn it the hard way too. There are many great companies that can spa H bags. The only thing they can’t do is replace hardware as they wouldn’t have the parts. The former H artisan I mentioned also spas H bags. She is remarkable! If ever I couldn’t get it done at H, I would go to her. But key is to always authenticate and know what you are purchasing. Thanks so much for sharing! 🥰🥰🥰
Bababebi actually has very clear detailed instructions “All photos taken with good natural daylight only. Close to a window or outdoors in shade. I do not accept artificial lighting except in a professional studio.” The potential buyer sent the reseller photos to bababebi directly and did not request more photos for the authentication. Honestly neither the reseller or Bababebi are at fault as the reseller did not know better pictures were needed and Bababebi can only assume the pictures are taken as per her instructions. That’s why I wanted to share this video as even I didn’t realize how important lighting can be. The indoor photos I provided were not bright enough as the weather here is always cloudy.
I bought it through rakuten.co.jp which is basically a marketplace with many sellers. Many are quite well known and established places with physical stores. Hope this helps! 🥰🥰🥰
Omgosh Kimmy! What a harrowing experience especially when it’s a difference of at least 2k!! I’m glad it all worked out in the end and you can finally have peace of mind 😅 Thanks for sharing your story so we can all take heed!
Honestly money aside, it’s much harder to sell a bag that has been dyed. Even myself as a buyer I would hesitate. I’m so happy that I was able to prove it isn’t and hopefully someone will give this baby a loving new home soon! Thanks for watching Floey! 🖤🖤🖤
I do too! That’s why I was shocked when she said it was redyed. But I can see why after I got the chance to see the pictures that were sent in initially. It didn’t show the true texture of the bag at all. Super happy it turned out ok but I will definitely never take authentication for granted again. 🖤🖤🖤
It’s a STUNNING bag! However, knowing that you paid $5K, why would someone turn around and pay $11K for it? Make sense to just go to the rakuten site and purchase at a good deal.
I totally understand your point and everyone is free to purchase from other places.☺️ However, there is a risk involved purchasing overseas. Product condition may not as expected, you could get taxed customs fees, and returns are very hard to do if any issues arise. This bag did not come with a strap so that is additional to what I purchased the bag for and they usually go for over $1k even on rakuten. Also, I was very lucky to find this at a low price and I used a limited time coupon to get at that price. There is also language barriers on rakuten as it is a completely Japanese site. This bag has been authenticated twice through bababebi which is an additional $125 each time so you would not have to worry about authenticity or redying. And I plan to ship FedEx 2 day or overnight which is over $300 dollars. I already spent $300 sending to ruestreetbags the first time and will pay again to send to the buyer. I have been very transparent about my purchases so I always try to reveal prices. I wish I could pass the savings on to everyone. Unfortunately my funds are quite limited and I only decided to purchase the Togo k28 because I was told I could get the current market price for this bag. Hopefully, someone will still want it because I was able to eliminate all risks involved purchasing preloved overseas, I have authenticated it, and I show all details and can always provide more photos which not all sellers do especially sellers on rakuten. It truly is stunning and hopefully someone will see the value in it! 🥰🥰🥰
It was the shine and pristine condition on the pictures that made everyone think it was. Touching it and seeing it in real life you can clearly see it not dyed.
Honestly it didn’t seem like it to me. The first time the potential buyer submitted the photos. But the second time around she made sure I sent high quality photos at the right angles so she could make a proper authentication. 🥰🥰🥰

I just saw a redyed Kelly 28 selling for $3000 less than regular. It looks great in the picture
It is really gorgeous! I love how shiny it is and it’s GHW too. 🖤 I do understand why you have to let it go. Yes it’s too beautiful to be sitting in your closet.

I'm happy it wasn't 🖤

🥰🥰🥰🥰
Love the video babe💕💕💕What do you use on your Box Kelly???
I just used a leather conditioner. But very very small amount as I don’t want to compromise the bags original condition in any way. 🥰🥰🥰
Did bbbb give u a refund for being embarrassingly wrong??
✨Such great advice regarding authentication. My friend purchased a black box Kelly 32 from the reputable Ginza XiaoMa. Ginza XiaoMa claimed it was in original condition. Yeah, getting the service from Hermes is the best for authentication
SHE’S SO BEAUTIFUL!!
I think so too! 😭😭😭
Don’t you think the authentication should have asked the reseller for outside pics too? I hope it made her think twice about her authentications too.
Bababebi actually has very clear detailed instructions “All photos taken with good natural daylight only. Close to a window or outdoors in shade. Honestly, I’ve heard BBB isn’t the most reliable. She’s been wrong before then refuses to admit she’s wrong or apologizing. So that’s that.
I’ve only heard good reviews but I guess no one is perfect. She admitted she was wrong in my case so I guess I was lucky. 🥰🥰🥰
Do you mind sharing the Japanese consignment shop you used to buy?
I bought it through rakuten.co.jp which is basically a marketplace with many sellers. Many are quite well known and established places with physical stores. Hope this helps! 🥰🥰🥰
Bonjour de la Belgique 🇧🇪, félicitations pour vos magnifiques sacs Hermès Kelly 👍
Merci! 🖤🖤🖤
Could it have been spa-ed? Hermes will also touch up the corners and cracks, etc
I don’t think it was. I showed pictures to a former H artisan and she said it just looked like it was in beautiful patinaed state. 🥰🥰🥰
