I was eating at a seafood restaurant the other day, and I declined to order any lobster. Yes, I will happily eat fish, oysters, chicken, beef, pork, and am quite aware of the dissonance in saying that. It's hard to explain it, but it really boils down to the emotional investment into rooting for Leon's journey that has made a difference for me here. Thank you Leon!
I also realized Leon made me never want to taste lobster again. Which is easy because I live 600 miles from the sea, but still. Just thinking that lobsters could live to be 150 years old makes it impossible for me to select one of them from a tank.
I love seeing Leon healthy and happy, but I’m also in love with everyone here. Such positive, loving comments and observations. Somebody called your viewers ‘wholesome’ and I heartily agree. You’ve done something wonderful here, Brady, above and beyond saving and caring for Leon.
Yes and we are all have such different views but are United in everyone got out of it alive.. I wonder if one day Leon will get back to the sea? Or get a friend? We are all so patient. It’s nice
@@Susietravels He couldn’t go back to the sea and survive, and if he did, he would likely be caught again without Brady being there to rescue him this time. I think trying to put him back now would seal his fate. In the wild, lobsters are solitary beings, only coming together to mate. They are very territorial, and males will fight to defend that territory. The male will guard his mate through her gestation, but once that is finished they go their separate ways. I expect Leon will remain a solitary bachelor, with shrimps and crabs to amuse him between playtime with Brady, eating, and terraforming his mansion…and will continue to captivate his fans for a long time to come.🖤🇨🇦
Wow Leon's new aquarium is pretty fabulous. He's turning out to be a pretty great pet, although he does need special care and understanding. Glad he is getting that from you!
I believe with proper care Leon could put live a few humans I’ve seen some really large Maine Lobsters 34# range that have been estimated to be 100-150 y/o.
Thank you so much for doing this, seriously. People need to realize that just because animals don’t speak the same language as us, doesn’t mean they aren’t smart. They have feelings and thoughts and are aware of what’s going on around them. Thank you so much
You've made such a nice new home for Leon. He looks great! Do you expect him to molt again soon? Your cats have a great environment too. It's clear you care a great deal for the life and health of your pets.
According to google, male lobsters molt about once a year! So if that statistic is correct he should molt again in a couple of months (the molting video was posted 8 months ago but the molt may have been closer to 9 months ago since I assume the editing takes some time too)
Not me crying at 3am watching this whole series. Leon is now my best friend and I love him. I cannot thank you enough for saving him from his otherwise cruel fate
Broke my heart to see how morose Leon seemed when you first got him. He now seems like he has such a personality and is so happy. Makes me want to go save all the lobsters.
I followed since the first video last year. Given how long lobsters can live, I'm intrigued to see how big he will grow over the years. I hope that in decades to come, Leon will still be growing strong, perhaps bequeathed to an aquarium one day so he can gain a new generation of fans.
Since the lifespan of a lobster has only been limited by the effort it takes to molt becoming too great I'm curious how long one could live and how big it could get if it had help to molt. Imagine an heirloom lobster pet passed down from generation to generation that just keeps getting bigger and bigger.
I was wondering, just a few videos ago, what will happen to Leon when he’s ‘widowed’? Hopefully arrangements can be made for him to live in a sea life centre.
@@bradleypalmer7173 There are universities and private research aquariums that have lobsters for study. Recently UK researchers proved that lobsters feel pain and produce seratonin.

You’re a terrific filmmaker! I can see that so many other people have gotten drawn into Leon’s journey and have come to appreciate Leon more because of your UA-cam series. Leon is big, beautiful, active, and seems very happy. Congratulations on your success in sharing this heartwarming, fascinating story with the world!
Started following Leon when he was first rescued it's amazing to see him grow and thrive I have a crayfish I took from a local river and kept as a pet, he's an invasive species and I wanted to give him a good home to grow in where he wouldn't cause any damage to the environment and he's also doing great! Crustaceans are such cool pets
I think all animals are much smarter than we think. For example, my axolotl was so happy when I got home from a month long trip (he stayed with a babysitter) that he nuzzled his head into my hand and stayed there while I petted him for several minutes. He recognizes people, and my mom is one of his favorites. When he hears her, he stands on his hind legs at the front of the tank and waves his arms around. And that’s just my axolotl, I can’t even begin to explain how smart my cats are.
agree All animals are much smarter than we have ever given them credit for. Its harder to kill and eat something we know is sentient and aware, thinking, feeling perhaps

I've been watching Leon since the beginning. It is amazing how he just seems to love his life now. He has so much spunk and his colors are really popping out
I love how your videos can educate people on the fact that lobsters are very much so sentient and behave almost like dogs. This gives everyone who can't afford a lobster pet the opportunity to experience the way a lobster can behave :)
While you have given Leon all the necessities of life in order to survive, I'm positive your interaction with him is a huge part of his happiness. He knows you care for him, its awesome that you share him with us, thank you Brady!
I have to admit I never thought of a lobster as a pet but after seeing yours I really would love to have one myself it's not just the idea of saving it from being eaten it's also the fact that they're probably one of the most interesting creatures that I have ever seen and tidy also they love to keep their area clean! If I can find another place to live where I can have a tank if it isn't too much work I would love to have a lobster of my own and slowly build him a really nice home! Also love your new house with all the plants and everything very cool!!!
That shrimp bit moving around ,seemingly on it's own, was a big surprise! I love that those little crabs survive and thrive in Leon's world. I also like Leon's theme music; it's good vibes.

I found that brushing each cat with the same brush helps to break their anxiety to one another. You are introducing them by mixing each cats smell to the other through their hair.
Hey Brady, I just wanted to say thanks for doing your thing. Your experiment with Leon has been nothing short of FASCINATING. All of it, the concept, the music, the videography seeing how Leon has grown and how lobsters and other organisms in the tank behave and eat. Most important though: how something as unsuspecting as this would help my father and me bond so well! We watched most of your videos over a few evenings, but not all. A few weeks later, he lamented at how much he enjoyed that time spent and was wondering how Leon was holding up. We have plans to keep watching the rest soon over the holidays. I love the music used in your videos too; calming and cerebral. The tracks remind me of material from one of my favorite bands: Boards Of Canada I am getting him a Leon mug for Christmas because he already collects coffee mugs, but more so to commemorate how special the little things can be sometimes with our parents. Thanks.

Wow! You gave a lobster dinner his own story, while waking us to "life with lobster," when some of us would have taken home to boil. Rather than buying a sea food dinner, you named him, Leon, and gave him an expensive "ocean away from home" sanctuary to "feng shui," his little heart out. In place of captivity and imminent death, you set him free to live with you, and find new possibilities not previously imagined by us or Leon. A true success story for every one, even those who caught this lobster! I wonder if a lobster fisherman (company worker?) might ever imagine he caught Leon, never guessing his journey.
Next time Leon molts, would you think of preserving the shell in a resin mold & either auction it for fund-raising or donate it to a local school for biology lessons?
I think this would be a wonderful idea. I would love to see the process of this being done also. I love watching Leon, he has grown up so healthy and so handsome. Love his new home too. And as everyone says you are a great story teller and have a great voice. Watching Leon in his new tank with his baby shrimp and crabs is so much fun watching too. Have fun ever thought of getting Leon an algae eater? Also I forgot to ask do your cat ever jump on top of Leon's tank just to watch him and his friends now? And if they do I hope it is strong enough so they don't fall in. Cats have to explore and be everywhere. Great and wonderful video. Thank you for sharing with us. ❤️🤗🦞🦐🦀🐈🐈⬛
I can't tell you how stoked I am that you've gotten him some shrimp! I remember on day one I was saying SHRIMP SHRIMP SHRIMP they'll be great tankmates! I wish you both happy shrimp births!

I’m amazed at how well you have kept Leon, from how to feed him to getting larger and larger aquariums. He really is pretty, in a lobsterish way. Pretty colors. He’s like a prince.
Gosh. Such a beautiful creature, sentient, aware, alive. How can we ignore all of that just for a meal? Thank you so much for being you. You have something this world desperately needs; kindness. Thank you sir.
I wonder if Leon has any idea you saved him from someone's dinner plate. He's definitely living his best life and the little crabs 🦀 must be keeping him company as well. I ❤️ Leon!
In the wild, lobsters usually prefer long narrow cracks in the rock or burrow down under rocks to protect their underbelly from attack while leaving their claws and antenna free to assess or defend from what's going on around them. I was wondering if, to make Leon even more comfortable, you might consider constructing a faux- cave for him, just large enough to back his tail into into - maybe by cementing three large rocks together (using non-toxic cement) and placing them in his favourite corner the next time you have to take him out to clean the tank. It would probably stop him trying to dig his way beneath everything and hiding behind a long pile of sand. Lovely clear camerawork, thank you.

I expect Leon will remain a solitary bachelor, with shrimps and crabs to amuse him between playtime with Brady, eating, and terraforming his mansion…and will continue to captivate his fans for a long time to come.🖤🇨🇦
Who you calling “ wholesome “ ? 😃
You don't love me. You don't even know me. You're just like all the others. 😢
@@deadhorse1391 😁
This is one of the most wholesome and positive things on YT. Leon has a very positive vibe. Maybe he doesn't want to fight you, he wants to play!
Wow Leon's new aquarium is pretty fabulous. He's turning out to be a pretty great pet, although he does need special care and understanding. Glad he is getting that from you!
So happy to see Leon healthy and happy, from a depressed hopeless lobster, to a lively pet. It's nice
With this kind of care, Leon could outlive you. I think you have a friend for life.
I think he’ll also taste pretty good as a lobster roll
I'm just saying lobsters are delicious, no?
I believe with proper care Leon could put live a few humans I’ve seen some really large Maine Lobsters 34# range that have been estimated to be 100-150 y/o.
@@imagay568 Leon's probably too old for that. the meat will be tough and lack flavor
I would love to volunteer my unborn children to take care of Leon
Thank you so much for doing this, seriously. People need to realize that just because animals don’t speak the same language as us, doesn’t mean they aren’t smart. They have feelings and thoughts and are aware of what’s going on around them. Thank you so much
You can really tell he looks more healthy, vibrant, and happy since the beginning of his journey.
Little footprints in the sand and little footprints in our hearts. We love Leon - thanks for sharing!
I would be very curious if Leon ever gets old or big enough that scientists ask to use him as data for the growth rate of lobsters or some other study
@@bradleypalmer7173 sounds like a nightmare for leon i would hope nothing like that would ever happen to him
@@bradleypalmer7173 There are universities and private research aquariums that have lobsters for study. Recently UK researchers proved that lobsters feel pain and produce seratonin.
WooHoo! The crabs are alive and well 🥰 For "hitchhikers" they're kinda cute! Love to see Leon doing well, he's a great little guy for sure 😊
I forgot they were hitchhikers. 🦀🦀🦞
I love Leon and the narrator's calm, interesting, professional-sounding voice. I also LOVE all the comments and how everyone loves Leon. Thank you for saving him. It's so sad to see the lobsters in tanks with their claws rubber-banded together. ♥️
Finally, I caught an update on " LEON "...I LOVE HOW HEALTHY & ROBUST LEON IS, YOUR A GOOD " DAD "...
HIS COLORS ARE VIBRANT &HIS EYES EXPRESS HIS DOMINANCE ON HIS TURF..
THANK YOU, FOR SUCH A GREAT IDEA OF SAVING LEON 😘😘😘
Leon is living an extraordinary life. I like the idea of the cats being in his world. They watch him, he watches them. It's nice that there is activity around him. One lucky guy. Much love Leon!
The cats, being cats, are probably planning.
I can’t believe you actually get hate mail! That’s ridiculous. I’ve followed you and Leon’s journey for almost a year now religiously loving every second of your updates. It’s amazing seeing how he is flourishing along with the new additions to the Leon family. I was worried about those crabs. I’m so happy they’re doing well
Yeah, for sure, some of it is nasty too! Even some from a minister. No idea.
@@Bradybrandwood I can't believe anyone would ever send you hate mail. Some people are unbelievable. Well I guess they are just jealous.
I love your videos of Leon and your cats. You are awesome. 😊❤️🤗🦞🐈🐈⬛🦐🦀
@@Bradybrandwood He probably has shares in Red Lobster restaurant chain! 😉
@@Bradybrandwood What is their beef with you? Are they saying it's cruel to keep him or something?
@@Bradybrandwood OH My goodness thats horrible and how sacrilegious!!! I'm sure we all have your back and Leons!! GOD BLESS YOU for saving his life and bringing us along on his new journey! ❤🙏
He is absolutely thriving. He looks so well... what an incredible difference isn't it to what he was like when you first rescued him. He's just gone from strength to strength over time 💜
Not me getting emotional over Leon 😢 I just love ur relationship w him and just the whole story ! This is what we need more of in the world, love and kindness ❤🥹
That is true! ✌️✌️✌️🦞
I will admit I have always been a bit skeeved out by both lobsters and crabs but started watching the videos just out of curiosity around the second or third video. I don't know how to explain it, but it makes me feel like there's some good in the world ya know? That there are people who can care so deeply about the well being of a grocery store lobster is a good reminder when so many things can feel so bad. Always glad to see the updates. Thanks for sharing both your journeys!
well he wasnt always a grocery store lobster. He was in the ocean and living a life. he got caught in one of those traps and his life ended that day. Predators, human and fish, are always on the look out for a dinner.
i reallyidentify with your comment sir. GOd bless you.
I've learned more about lobsters from Brady's videos than any National Geographic or Animal Planet show lol. Great job
Started following Leon when he was first rescued it's amazing to see him grow and thrive
I have a crayfish I took from a local river and kept as a pet, he's an invasive species and I wanted to give him a good home to grow in where he wouldn't cause any damage to the environment and he's also doing great!
Crustaceans are such cool pets
You really gave Leon a new lease on life. It has been wonderful watching him thrive!
You don’t know how awesome you are, Brady. Thank you for rescuing him, I can tell Leon loves his new life and you for rescuing him. Thanks for keeping everyone updated! I enjoy your adventure vlogging as well! :)
My wife gave me a Leon the Lobster mug for Christmas. It is now my favorite mug. My adult children loved the story I told them about how I discovered your channel and how much I enjoy the stories of Leon.
This series has been well done. People came for the curiosity, but ended up staying for the story telling. In a world thats become so divisive by anything AND everything thank you for this. I hope you get a million soon!
It's amazing to see he was going down hill from the store and now he is strong vibrant. So awesome I watched this video since day 1
Here from the first video of Leon. He looks so much healthier than when you first got him! I'm happy he's doing good
I've been watching Leon since the beginning.
Yes, I believe all creatures are like this
While you have given Leon all the necessities of life in order to survive, I'm positive your interaction with him is a huge part of his happiness.
I was down in georgia for work earlier in December and thought about leon while I was in Savannah. Happy to see he's doing well.
That shrimp bit moving around ,seemingly on it's own, was a big surprise! I love that those little crabs survive and thrive in Leon's world. I also like Leon's theme music; it's good vibes.
It's my birthday today, I was alone and depressed but I came across this video. Ended up watching Leon's entire journey, it did put a smile on my face.
Hey mysticman, Happy Birthday! I hope you have an awesome one. ✌️✌️✌️
Happy birthday!

Happy Birthday from another December baby. So glad you found this unique story and it cheered you up. 🎂🎉
Animals can change your life🥰
I have been completely fascinated by Leon and your documentation of his progress. Watching him grow and interact with his environment gives a new perspective to all life no matter the form. I may never eat a lobster tail again. Thank you for your dedication to enriching Leon's life and ours.
Leon is looking good! And I love seeing him redecorating! Absolutely love everything!🤍
Leon is one lucky lobster. He may have ended up as a meal if you hadn't adopted him. His story is amazing, and he has such a wholesome fan base
He would have ended up a meal for certain! He was in a live tank at a supermarket. Such a neat little miracle this is eh?❤️
He still might, plot twist, he is fattening him up to become a meal for two.
Leon has to be one of the luckiest crustacean out there, really makes you wonder if theres any of them out there
If you ever write a children's book about Leon, you should call it Leon: The Luckiest Lobster
The tracks remind me of material from one of my favorite bands:
Boards Of Canada
I am getting him a Leon mug for Christmas because he already collects coffee mugs, but more so to commemorate how special the little things can be sometimes with our parents. Thanks.
Disco that is very cool!!! Thanks for sharing. ✌️✌️✌️🦞
dang! I haven't thought about Boards of Canada in forever. Thanks for the reminder ☺️
@@Bradybrandwood I love watching Leon as he moves along in life, I just started watching about a month ago but have watched all of his journey. Thank you for being a hero to Leon and letting many people enjoy the ride along with him and you.
You're a hero for spending this time with your Dad and being so thoughtful to engage with one of his collections, coffee mugs. This holiday season is my first without either parent alive, and while neither was perfect, I'd give almost anything to have one more afternoon of bonding, sharing, chatting with either. @@celestewatson4874 Thank you for sharing that, Celeste. Gratitude is something I’m trying to practice every day in my life, so I’ve chosen to love those who matter to me before I know I’ll regret it. I’m so sorry for your loss too - we all know it’s something inevitable, but it’s never anything you’ll ever be truly prepared for.
Leon definitely lucked out with you. Watching from Somerset England , so amazed that a lobster can warm so many hearts.
From plain ol' Grocery Lobster, to a very awesome Love-Ster, well done! Leon has been very active and satisfied from the time you cut him loose :3 cheers
The new tank looks fantastic!
You don't know what seeing Leon be so happy and we'll cared for means to me. I was this kid who always cried seeing the lobsters in the store knowing that they al would be eaten. To see him get the life he actually deserves melts my heart.
Ditto!
Leon looks happy and content ☺️ Love his personality, he is interactive with you, likes to organize, is a planner, and loves his space! 🥰
Leon appears to be happy loving his new home. You’ve done a great job caring for him. Love watching your videos from - your commentary, music you’ve selected and most importantly following the journey of LEON. ❤❤❤. Watching this is so refreshing to the crap out there on UA-cam
Can't wait to watch this! I love Leon updates! ✌🇨🇦🦂❤ It's so nice to see Leon doing so great. He looks very happy and content with his life. The new setup with the glass shrimp and tiny crabs seems to be working well. Take care and thanks for the journey so far. ✌🇨🇦😎👍💯
Leon's become quite a majestic regal looking creature. He's clearly thriving in his new home!
Was he born in the Atlantic Ocean?
It’s hard too believe that over a year ago Leon was a skinny little lobster and now he’s big and strong.
Fantastic idea!
I can't tell you how stoked I am that you've gotten him some shrimp! I remember on day one I was saying SHRIMP SHRIMP SHRIMP they'll be great tankmates! They'll bring him SO much enrichment and he'll only be able to catch one if it's ill, or molting low to the ground. I just love keeping shrimp, they are so entertaining and awesome tank janitors! I wish you both happy shrimp births!
I neeeed more Leon videos. He literally made 6 days in the hospital feel like 2 as well as u Mr Brady and the music is so soothing
I love the care and attention you pay not just to Leon, but to making these super calming videos. Thank you 🙏🏻
Hey, Brady, love the videos as always. I just wanted to say your cinematography in this particular video was very pleasant to look at and well presented. You managed to capture a lot of cool stuff
The closeups of Leon were extra clear in this video!
Yes I was thinking the same thing!
You are a great storyteller. Your voice is calming. I love your channel, you and Leon! (And the cats!)
I'll sometimes put the playlist of all Leon's videos on loop at night when I can't sleep because Brady's voice is so relaxing.
I think you need to be hired as a narrator for documentaries! I love listening to you! I am throughly enjoying Leon's story too!❤
We've been watching since Leon's initial RESCUE. THANK YOU, Brady
This lobster is a part of my life now. I have no regrets.
Can we just appreciate how this series has captivated the interest in the hearts of so many? Not to mention every video just gets a little bit better in production quality. Love following Leon on his journey.
I came upon Leon by accident. I've followed ever since that first video. How wonderful that you rescued this lobster and gave him a home!!

I’m amazed at how well you have kept Leon, from how to feed him to getting larger and larger aquariums. He really is pretty, in a lobsterish way. Pretty colors. He’s like a prince.
I live for these silly Lobster updates
I love Leon's story he's so happy 😊 😃.
I’m from north Georgia. I now live in South Florida but when you mentioned winter coming it reminded how cold it gets in winter there.
I ❤️ Leon!
What a beautiful boy Leon has become. Thank you for taking such good care of him!
I like the music choices for enjoying the lobster.
