Dr. Wako, Would you indulge us in a knife collection update video? Love to see how things have evolved over the years. I think the last time you did one was 2012! :)
Big respect to you Professor! Always very detailed videos. Learned how to sharpen knives from you. Please always stay this passionate on you hobby. DDS from Russia.
Another great video, and you might be pleasantly surprised with Cruwear when used out in the field. From what I've read in BR group and watched DBK videos, it's proven to have longer edge retention than 3v without losing it's toughness. Please share results when you can 👍🏼, hope you're all doing well there. 🙏🏼
Amazing you are awsome you got me so addicted to barkriver knives looks like i need to think about picking up one of the ext's thanks for the great videos love them all
I believe the S45 is for better rust and patina prevention. The replacement for S35vn. I don’t think it has better edge retention than cru-wear, 3V and certainly not Elmax.
I've reached a conclusion there is no knife which does all the jobs nicely. Knife is purposeful. My best bushcraft knife is Bushcrafter 2/3 grind and my best hunting knife is on this video.
Good Morning Sir, a little off topic I was just wondering about the Haida brand of folding knives and what type of quality they are. I have a fellow offering a Haida Leisure time folding lock back knife for sale in less then average condition. He is asking $40 Canadian and I was just wondering what they would be compared to here in North America? Perhaps Buck or something similar? Thank you so much and I love your channel you taught me how to convex sharpen. Stay safe and take care.
You will need the buffing wheel. You already have Barkriver white compound. Buffing wheel will make the handle shine as new again. After it I would clean it with IPA and afterwards pritect it with mineral oil used for chopping boards. It is food safe. Camelia oil and linseed oil would work. Heck even hand cream would bring some fats in the handle.
Keep the videos coming! Dr.Wako may I recommend a knife called the Realsteel Bushcraft 2 or 3. The Realsteel Bushcraft is my favorite hunting knife! I have had 100s of knives but I finally found my favorite. It is made out of D2 steel check them out. Thanks again Dr.
You cut yourselves on one of your fox rivers. You gave it one hell of an edge and it bit you bad. You had to give yourself stiches. Do you remember that ?
About twice a year wipe down the Rams Horn handle with mineral oil(baby oil) to preserve it. Wipe it on let it set over night and wipe off the excess the next morning. Treat it before taking it out hunting. Do not use any petroleum based oils on it my friend they are bad for it.
@@virtuovice please tell me how or what do you do to clean the blood out of inside of sheaths? I know it's not a lot but when you feild clean you've put them back in sheaths with blood on them.
@@virtuovice side-note they call the handle shape coke bottle with the swell in middle you could talk to them at DLT trading about different handle shapes.
Very nice job perfecting your new knife my friend. Another(better?) term for "I don't care" is I'm not concerned or it doesn't bother me would probably be better. Of course I'm not trying to be mean regarding your use or words as I don't know how to speak Japanese. I love all you video's. Good luck with all your hunting. Looking forward to seeing you reaping your rewards very soon.
I am desperately looking for a Cru-Wear EXT-1. I have one in 3V, but am really interested in getting one in CW. Let me know if anyone has one for sale ✌
You are going to love Cru-Wear! It sharpens like a dream and gets VERY Sharp. The only downside is it is not as stainless as S45VN. Cry-Wear is one of my favorite steels. The S45VN, I think you will like also because it has very good stainless properties but the Nitrogen in it will help get sharpness that you find in non-stainless steels.
Dr. Walko has made me so happy he has made three videos in the last week. It's a privilege watching his videos. 👌👌👍
No problem

Wow those knives are beautiful
You should consider filling in that knot hole with some jb weld quickwood, or woodweld epoxy so it doesn't crack or erode.

The 3 mm one in 45vn sound's like a better slicer. Good luck in your hunting trips !

You should do a collection video soon wako!
Been a long time we have not seen your latest full collection.
Also what is or was the sharpest knife you ever had?
Love seeing more videos!!!
selling any of these knives? I like the black handle
Look very much forward too how cruwere does on stag in real world experience!!
Mike Stewart said S45vn is the equivalent to Elmax. Great video.

I got a BR Grizzly cub in 3v and it's an unreal knife.
I have one too, and I absolutely love it!
Where do you buy bark river knives?
Looking forward to more hunting videos.
What is the best bushcraft knife you ever handle over the years and what is the best all you can do knife. Thanks for your video😊
I've reached a conclusion there is no knife which does all the jobs nicely. Knife is purposeful. My best bushcraft knife is Bushcrafter 2/3 grind and my best hunting knife is on this video.
What kind of oil is it ?
Just pre ordered the fox river ext-1 in magnacut. Have you tested this steel?
I thought you bought Michgan hunter CPM Cruwear. Hope to hear your opinion about the steel after field trial. Take care, doctor.

I also have recently gotten an ext-1 cruwear, but not used yet. Anxious to see your opinion on a stag and how long the edge lasts

i like that sheath design. What is the wood on the cru-wear, please.
@ SENPAI : PLEASE fully update and detail Cru and 45vn after using VS 3V and A2
Please show some family cooking and eating !
If you would like to sell the cru wear or elmax i would love to buy one from you.
Curious of your thoughts on Benchmade saddle mountain hunter 15002 in s30v? You have experience with it?
Really looking forward to your opinion on the steels and how they strop.🙏
What oil was it?
Camelia oil
I’m a little confused as a new comer why you’re calling Bark River knives (Fox River) Are you only using the Fox River model?

I notice you cured your fingernail fungus. How did you do it?
I think it is nail psoriasis
The S45V Should perform close to S30V.
do you prefer bark river 3v over A2?
Yes. 3V and Cru-Wear are semi-stainless and have high wear resistance and toughness over A2 obviously.
Y a t-il un français qui a compris tout ce qu’il a dit svp? J’aimerais vraiment comprendre ce qu’il dit de ses 4 couteaux merci

Let us know which steel you like the best once you use them. Rank them in order
Question, do you buy these yourself, or are they all sponsored? Thanks. Good salesman I always want a new one after watching.
I've never sponsored in order to say what I feel independently.

can't buy this in Cru-wear from Bark River anymore.
Cru-wear rust easily?
very simillar to 3v
@@Handcarved no good for humid areas
@@lcg3816 IKR! as good as 3v
Not similar to 3v bro you don’t know what you’re saying

Please wako san.....YAKINIKU video cooking meat deer!!!
I am embarrassed to say the quality of bark river is very poor now. Even the sheaths are terrible. I hope they fix their issues fast.
