God does Love us very much and for us too hate ourselves isn't what he has in mind..

I would be very careful with running around telling yourself and others you are sinless. We all need Jesus blood to cleanse us, we dont get saved by our own power. The old adam never just vanishes, paul himself said he has to battle the old ego/adam/man. As long as we are in our old bodies we will never be perfect. Thats why this corrupt fleshly body will be changed into a new one when we die or life until the rapture.

You know as a recovering alcoholic there are days I don't do so well. In the past 10 months I've drank twice. Since June the 12th of 2021 that's a total of six times where I have relapsed. Not for weeks on end or any kind of nonsense like that but just once but that's a whole lot better than where I was. One of the hardest things to shake off is that, when I fail. The thing about it is I know scripture not as well as he does but I know scripture. One commenter said he feels like he loses the joy of the Lord when he sends and I think that's apropos. One thing I do however is I stop and look back and ask God to forgive me and I thank him for his grace that got me where I am this far. I used to drink everyday. By God's grace and continuing to fight this will become a distant memory.

Anytime I sin I get so discourage and I start to question if I Truly Love God but than I Remember what peter did to Christ peter denied Jesus 3 times it isn't much different from what we do when we sin when we sin we commit a act of betrayal towards God and deny him by our actions but after peter had realized that what Jesus spoke of came true he mourned and sobbed until When Jesus returns to them again Jesus asks peter the same question 3 times *Thou Loves me?* and peter said "Yes Lord I Lovest Thou" that their shows how even a apostle of Jesus Christ can fall into sin and it also shows and puts light on repentance and forgiveness God knows we are going to sin but its what we do after we sin God cares about the most (And If your stuck in Repetitive Get yourself away from the situation)

      @Janaina Ribeiro
I have not made peace with sin.
No christian who is truly a believer and follower of christ makes peace with sin.
But a lot of people misunderstand what I mean when I talk about this subject so maybe i can explain a bit better.
A christian by the very definition is a follower of christ its what the world calls us as a title. So our first and foremost duty as christians is to put our faith in Jesus Christ who is God.
This means in order to be a christian, a follower of christ in these days a person must:
Submit themselves to the authority of God
Repent of their sins and accept christ into our hearts
Be baptised in the name of the Father and son and holy spirit.
And live a life dedicated to following Jesus and his commands.
You cannot be a christian if you are living a life of being:
fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners. If anyone is living a lifestyle that falls under any of these, they are not saved.
However, when a person gives their life to christ, they decide to follow him. They not only give up their old sins, they also see the truth about those sins because they know the evils of them now. But this doesn’t make them perfect.
“”Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh?” gal. 3:3 when read in context Paul is saying that you cannot save yourself through works of the flesh. Even with the holy spirit inside you. Now this doesnt specifically talk about sin itself but
“Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. 15And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.
16If anyone sees his brother sinning a sin which does not lead to death, he will ask, and He will give him life for those who commit sin not leading to death. There is sin leading to death. I do not say that he should pray about that. 17All unrighteousness is sin, and there is sin not leading to death.”
To save a bit of reading. I'm gonna try and wrap this up here
Im not saying that we should be in peace with our sin, quite the opposite. When we follow jesus, we should not sin, ever. But jesus knows our flesh is going to fight against that desire and sometimes we will fall. And when he turns his attention to our fall we get back up and run to catch up. We kneel down and we repent again and apologize for falling behind.
If we are believers the spirit will convict us when we sin, and our response should be to repent and to keep following him. This is what jesus meant by:
“All those the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away. 38 For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me. 39 And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all those he has given me, but raise them up at the last day.” John 6:37-39
And more! I hope that helps to clear things up…

I just keep thinking of the verses
“The wages of sin is death” over and over again
Also “sin shall not have dominion over you” and “he who sins is a slave of sin”
    And then Galatians 5:16
“If you walk in the spirit you will not fulfill the desires of the flesh”
    Proverbs 28:13
“He who covers his sins will not prosper,
But whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy.”
I understand confessing, but forsaking is totally different.
Also without holiness no man shall see the Lord in Hebrews 12:14
    Ephesians 5:26-27
“that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish.”
Not having a spot or wrinkle and without blemish?
There are plenty of other verses, but these are the ones that stuck out to me and gave me a lot to think about. Especially since light has no friendship with darkness either.
Not trying to start an argument, just in a pickle about this. Because we can run around scripture all day, and not all of the Bible is literal, since most is metaphorical as well. But I would think this would be meant to be taken in a literal sense.
Thank you brothers and sisters. I say this out of love to all who love Christ like I do in hopes we are doing the right thing as Christian’s in our obedience to him.
    God bless!

I end up tightening the prevention measures. 8 months in ive blocked 89-92% porn access on all devices. When i started, i only relied on christ. Fir me that wasnt enough. Matt 5:29 rang true. Prevention is EVERYTHING. i think even if you die in this state before overcoming, you are still saved because you were in a state of trying to overtime. No believer keeps on sinning without this type of chastisement constantly present in his life.

After listening to this I’m confused Pastor John. My wife left me and married another man. I believe it’s the biblical definition of adultery. It hurts every day for the last eight years. I don’t understand how she can go to heaven. It feels like she’s doing horrific evil without a repentant heart. But she claims to be a believer and in many ways behaves as one better than I. I have the same sentiment about a high school friend who has chosen a homosexual lifestyle and still claims to be a Christ follower. Does my ex-wife and my friend go to eternity in heaven? I don’t see them there unless there is a major repentance. I’m not Catholic, but it feels like the concept of a mortal sin. There seems to be a profession of faith and a reliance on the blood of Christ and yet this ongoing perpetual sin with no repentance. I also have a beam in my own eye and I can’t seem to stop. I guess the difference is that I see it as sin and don’t want it to be part of my life. I’m concerned for my wife’s eternal condition and so desperately desire for her to repent.

Sooooo for people saying no don’t sin, we are not to sin, we are to never sin after being saved… I’m pretty sure no one WANTS to sin after being saved. It’s not just something that we are excited and willing to do all the time but we may find ourselves sinning again at some point in our life. Is every single sin mentioned in the Bible??? If not, we may sin unknowingly sometimes. I’m just worried because I am new in Christ however I’m just afraid of the future I don’t want to fail God or let him down if I ever sin again. I’m also thinking if we say we never sin then we are saying we are perfect. The sin is what makes us not perfect… right?? Just seriously curious and asking questions here. I feel like a lot of Christians say they don’t sin but they also say they are not perfect and make mistakes when other people are looking to them. What do they mean by mistakes??? My guess would be sin. Don’t try to reword it to make it sound better. If you made a mistake, you basically sinned (not all the time but most, that’s why they said it) Someone who is of God, correct me if I’m wrong 🤷🏽‍♀️

Ecclesiastes 7 says not to be overly righteous. That is probably what they are referring to when they say mistakes, like a typing error or something that they messed up with on the job. Jesus was not "perfect" either. He had lusts just like the rest of us which is why he was tempted by "satan". He had to be reproved by the canaanite woman who told him she had to eat the crumbs. Hebrews says Jesus became complete through his death, meaning he had to live his life UP TO being complete. This "perfection" idea is a lie from hell and it came from already being "perfect" but not perfect enough.

The bible says the opposite, that we will all struggle with sin and mistakes. I have even seen teachers and preachers lying and contradicting themselves and swearing, this is quite common among leaders of the christian faith. We need to work on ourselves and always bear in mind that we will be judged on our mentality and our spiritual level, and how we took on Christs persona and identity. In order to serve our Lord God and Savior we need to rely on His continuing intercession for us in Heaven at the throne of God our Father. Do you know that nowhere after the gospels are we told to ask God for forgiveness? 11 Corinthians 5:17 says we are a new creation and old things have passed away. We are no longer sinners but the very righteousness of God. Note, it does not say we are covered with righteousness but we are the very righteousness of God. Does the righteousness of God sin, I don't think so. We are told by the Lord in First Corinthians 6 and 10 that all things are lawful or permissible but not all things are profitable or beneficial. Sin is a violation of God's law but if we are under grace we are not under law. We are in right relationship with God if we are Christians but we can be out of fellowship with our neighbor and we need to make that right but that is not sin for it is horizontal and not vertical. David, when confronted by Nathan the prophet, said he had sinned against God and Him only. But David was not born again so he had not attained to righteousness as we have. Some say we sin but shouldn't practice sin is what is meant in First John. Well, if we do something every week for years is that not practicing sin. A habit or practice does not depend on how often but is it done with regularity. If you still sin after being a Christian then you are just a partly cleaned up sinner. I don't think the Word of God allows for that state.

Dude read your Bible. 1 John 2:1-2 KJV "My little children, these things write I unto you, that you sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the Righteous: And He is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the world." The born again Christian still is susceptible to sinning because the sin nature lives in the body and is at war constantly with the Holy Spirit and it will be like that until we die or until the rapture. If you could stop sinning by yourself then there was no point for Jesus to come to the world and die on the Cross. We are only the righteousness of God as long as we repent and put our faith and trust in Jesus Christ and His death on the cross, burial, and resurrection. After confessing that and believing that in your heart with sincerely, when God sees us He no longer sees us as sinners but sees Christ in us, therefore rendering us perfect in His sight.

Jim Buford Sorry brother, I do not believe that is true. We need forgiveness everyday. See the verse below. And also Jesus doesnt just give us the template for how to pray in the Lords prayer, which includes asking for forgiveness, so that we would never have to pray like that again. Forgiveness is essential at the cross (redemption), in new birth, repentance, and belief (salvation) and on the road to Heaven (sanctification). We never stop needing forgiveness. We never stop needing grace. We never stop needing mercy. And the beauty is God never runs out of any of those things for his true children. By his Spirit in us, we need only ask (Psalm 51).
“If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.”

@@krissmork Absolutely true. But that is our situation prior to being born again. We confess and He forgives us and we are born again. John was replying to church leaders who were asking questions raised by the gnostics who believed they did not need to come to Christ the same as the rest of us for they had some special relationship and John was merely saying no, they have to come confessing and believing the same as everyone else. But still confessing is not the same as asking forgiveness. Forgiveness is not held in abeyance until we ask forgiveness but is our steady state once we become the righteousness of God in Christ. We do not lose that righteousness and sin and righteousness cannot coexist.

@@timothyseals3791 You are a liar, and a fraud, the Bible says no such thing, not even once, nor does it warn those in Christ of such nonsense, not even once. You have an evil, unbelieving heart, and you pervert God's word, just like every other false teacher. Here is what the Bible says, and it's not even close to what you claim...
The phrase "fallen from grace" appears one time, and it has nothing to do with anything you said. Paul, in his letter to the Galatians, tells them that those who are justified by Law, have fallen from grace...
"Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the Law; ye are fallen from grace." Gal 5:4
Why does Paul say this? Simple, because justification is by faith, not by the works of the Law.
"Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified." Gal 2:16
Those who are justified by Law cannot be justified by faith, so Paul tells them that it is a fall from grace when anyone is justified by Law. The context of this entire letter concerns the Judaizers who had seduced the Galatians into observing the Law by adding circumcision to the message of the gospel, just like you added to the gospel with your work of remaining in Christ to not fall from grace. Paul says that those who do what you just did, are preaching "another gospel" and are to be "accursed" (eternally damned". YOU will spend eternity separated from God, for you are without Christ and without hope.
Men are saved by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, not by works.
As far as your attempt to pervert God's word by claiming that "Christians can fall away from grace, if they do not remain in Christ", the only time Jesus tells someone to "remain in Him" is in John 15, and then John exhorts his readers in his letters that those who confess that Jesus is the Christ remain (dwell) in God and God in them.
"Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in Him, and he in God." 1 John 4:15 KJV
"Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God remains in him, and he in God." 1 John 4:15 NASB
This is a statement of fact, not a qualifier, as you suggest. You preach works based justification. Anyone who believes the gospel (you never have) remains in God and God remains in him. It's not optional.
In John 15, Jesus is speaking to His disciples, who are not yet indwelt by the Holy Spirit, that they should remain (abide), but this is also about the nation of Israel, as a whole, who will be cut-off if they do not accept Him as the Christ (see Rom 11). You are conflating many different things, because you do not comprehend anything the Bible says, so you create your own false narrative in order to deceive and deflect from the truth.
      You are to be accursed.

in my own experience as a believer, God never lets me continue to sin very long. For instance i once put into place moderate safe guard measures for porn. This created a barrier, a wall that i could not cross easily. But in my sin and addiction my flesh found ways around this and I continued to look as things. softer in tone but still accessible. Then i started finding ways to get back into harder stuff. it was partially blocked but not completely. This lasted a couple months until the conviction swelled up so much that my mind kept going back to Christ words of "plucking out your eye." So i decided to take a bigger harsher absolute all or nothing stand. i found a way to block EVERYHING. in doing so, i have zero access to the internet on my devices except my PC at home, which is a work PC so i wouldn't ever look there. SO on my devices i don't have access to internet browsers, nor can i download an app nor can i search anything. The most i can do is watch Netflix, Facebook, text and call and read my Tecarda Bible. Thats it. not even Facebook chat is installed because it introduced issues as well. God would not let me continue and i was presented with a serious choice. abandon this or die.
once i removed ALL access, it was like throwing the Ring into the fire from LOTR. a weight lifted but with a costly worldly price. Its a perfect wall and shield. Im probably going to remove Netflix as well since there is no doubt filth on there with access. Scripture led me here. Living in this sin while being a believer isn't easy under the weight of conviction. Its pretty much impossible. It's so bad it made me feel unsaved for periods of time. I feel Free now. I feel loved. I feel as if he is proud of me but i know its what he wants because he says it in scripture. If your truly saved, God will give you a heart of flesh and this heart of flesh will desire God and eventually lead you off all addiction and the practice of sin but YOU MUST prevent access. This is not a work. It's a command.

If professing Christians are truly born again, they are not at all tempted by the foolish things those entrapped by the power of sin are suffering! The transformed follower of Jesus only feels sorry for those who don't yet have what s/he does!
Of course, religion, especially Churchianity, has a strong tendency to claim all sorts of behaviors are "sinful" when, in fact, they are not...only to turn around and commit actual sins, which are those actions (or sometimes inactions) that result in hurting people or callously ignoring their suffering!
Leading a sinful life, that is, a life in which one hurts others and/or is callous toward the suffering of others, is the most miserable way to live! A sinful, selfish life, is a delusion! Trampling over others to achieve gain of some sort, whether it's for money or power or fame, etc., never satisfies!
That's why people who already have a lot of money, power or fame always want more, more, more! Their souls are empty and hurting others/not helping the needy to fill up one's inner void with the things the world has to offer never works!
God is saddened by the ways we humans hurt each other and, because He loves EVERYONE, much as He hates the bad things we do, His desire is that we stop hurting each other to experience the joy of leading lives of doing good and helping the suffering!
As far as what most of the Jews of Jesus' day believed about the Last Age--a restored, literal, independent, theocratic nation of Israel, beginning with a violent liberation from Rome in Judea, by a special man God would send to lead them to victory, the Messiah--let's face it, it didn't happen, certainly not within the timeframe Jesus predicted (before his generation passed away) HIS Kingdom would begin to spread from Judea to all the rest of the world...but the reason is because HE was not the EXPECTED Messiah!
Jesus disagreed with his fellow Jews, even his own disciples, who wanted so badly for HIM to be the military king they wanted to seize the Throne of David! He was very careful about letting people know what he really thought about the "Kingdom of God," but he frequently alluded to it. For example, every time he or his disciples healed someone, he wanted the people looking on to hear, "The Kingdom has come close to you!" That would have been a very odd thing to say if he thought the "Kingdom of God" was going to be a literal government, on earth, with Jerusalem as its capital!
But Jesus finally did come out and explain what HE thought the Kingdom was and where it would be located--a "kingdom" in the hearts of PEOPLE (Luke 17:20-21)!
Sadly, after his death, his followers continued to see him as the Expected Messiah, waiting for him to return with an angelic army to wipe out the Romans and all their collaborators.
Worse, toward the end of the First Century, when Gentiles took over the Church, they REALLY failed to get Jesus! They took him for a new god that would give their souls a free ticket to the Elysian Fields, the place in Greek Mythology that seemed to them very similar to the Jewish God's home--Heaven.
However, an in depth and unbiased examination of the Canonical Gospels reveals what Jesus was really all about--transforming individual lives, one at a time, from doing bad to doing good, and every time a person is "born again," s/he becomes one more addition to the real "Kingdom of God."

Oh, pastor John, you couldn't be more wrong. I love you, but Christ is more powerful than my sin, not the other way around. No one who abides in Him keeps on sinning; no one who keeps on sinning has either seen Him or known Him. You call out your own false faith with your rhetoric, and you worship the same false god, you call "Christ", that I did for 42 years before He put me on my face before Him. When Jesus saved me from sin, He placed His pure white robes on my shoulders and though I may begin to fall, He is faithful to catch me before I impact the mud (sin), because He will not allow me to stain His robes with sin. Because I occupy this earthly body, I am still in sin, and I will meet all the earthly consequences of my sin. Namely, I will face temptation, suffering, blunder and eventually death, but none of those things will ever blossom into sin ever again, because I serve a God that is more powerful than sin. So, whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin. This means a habitual falsehood or blasphemy that slips past my lips before I realize the correct path is a trial, that we are called to overcome, but it does not become a sin until the wrong path is chosen, and with Christ's will within me, He will ALWAYS keep me on the narrow path. Jesus saved me from the eternal consequences of sin, and He does this by miraculously keeping His robe on my shoulders pure by catching me before, right before, I choose the wrong thing the moment I KNOW it's wrong.

First to those in Damascus, then to those in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and then to the Gentiles, I preached that they should repent and turn to God and demonstrate their repentance by their deeds.
      2 Cor 7:9-10
Yet now I am happy, not because you were made sorry, but because your sorrow led you to repentance. For you became sorrowful as God intended and so were not harmed in any way by us.
Godly sorrow brings REPENTANCE THAT LEADS TO SALVATION and leaves no regret, but worldly SORROW BRINGS DEATH.
      2 Peter 3:9
The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you not wanting anyone to perish but everyone to come to repentance.
It's not legalizm as false teachers claim, as those scriptures say its a requirement for salvation.
You're forgivin by first humbling yourself by acknowledging your sins and making a decision of the heart and mind to turn away from sin (Repent) only then will God grant the gift of faith to truly believe
that Jesus died on the cross was buried and rose again for the punishment we deserve for sin.
To believe is faith produced by repentance.
The Apostle John in 1 John makes it clear when believers sin those sins must be confessed and forgiveness asked for.

You keep his commandments because you love him not to help out your salvation. There is no way ever that you in this life you cannot sin. Because in the law, if you commit one sin you are guilty of all of them. You should keep God's commandments because it demonstrates your change and that your actually saved, plus will lead you a better life. But you just following the commandments doesn't exactly save you. Because sometimes you don't know you sin, or you struggle with sin. That perfection is an unattainable goal in this life. It only really becomes a reality in heaven. If we could reach perfection now then we wouldn't need Christ. It is truly by him we are saved because no matter what you do whether saved or not. No action can justify you enough. It's much easier to be blameless before others. It's a lot harder to br blameless before God and to be blameless when your alone. All honor and glory be to God! We should strive to be on fire for God living a life that he is pleased with of course. If we don't we could become cold and loose our way to what our real purpose is. That we can keep that relationship with God cause that is all we got!

I'm saying this in love and correction so if you put a hateful inflection on my words that is not from me. I appreciate your want to correct and help, so I return the favour.
"Go and sin no more". And she never told another lie, got angry with her sister or friend or neighbour, never did something without faith, never gave into a temptation to lust, greed, hate, envy? No. I'm sure she gave it her best though, and by the help and power of God's Holy Spirit saw salvation through Jesus, the One who defends us in the face of God's judgement. 1 John 1:8-9 "If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.". We confess our sins and are made clean. We repent and yes, we are not to repeat our past transgressions. However, there is hope when we fall as we read in 1 John 2: "My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world."
Also, how many times does Jesus tell us to forgive our brother? Seven times seventy in a day? How can we forgive our brother if he does not sin? Or does this apply only to our unsaved friends and family, and we are not to forgive our brothers in Christ? I doubt that. I'm sure you've read Paul's letters? There are many examples from his letters where he guides us on how to treat a sinning brother in the church. He says that if we confront our brother, and he repents, we have given him life! Praise God.
Here is the trick, as I see it: There is a difference between falling in sin and walking in them - while maybe even saying they're not sins! There is a difference between losing a fight to the darkness without wanting to, and walking in it. To put it poetically: A walk is farther than a step, dear friend.
You know as well as me that you still fall from time to time. Confess rather than betray yourself by saying you didn't sin! May God be merciful and forgive you when you earnestly confess and have your sins washed away by the blood of Jesus. I pray your walk in the Spirit is strengthened every day and last a lifetime, brother, continuing as you enter eternity, amen. Much love.
