Another important thing having to do with this video is the fact that you should be involved in a church. I felt the same and then a pastor told me, "Become a member of a church, get involved, pour yourself into the church, and allow them to pour into you." It has benefited me spiritually beyond my ability to describe.
JesusisGod #Big3 I think that is important of course, but I think it's important not to put expectations on the people of the church, because people fail to meet expectations. I noticed I had done this unknowingly and it waivered my faith when people didn't treat me as I thought I should be treated. Now I go to church by myself because my husband works, if people talk to me and say hi that is fine, but if they don't I am still going to go to praise the Lord. Your thoughts on this?
in time I understand that, but the command from Scripture is to “Forsake not the gathering of Believers.” That seems to be a universal command, although I understand that not everyone ‘wants’ to be surrounded by people. I really feel that God blesses obedience, especially when it is difficult.
I’ve been through this … for almost a year it was awful … it must be one of the hardest things I’ve ever been through. But when God did bring me through it was amazing , and it increased my faith dramatically . It’s SOOO hard , but the growth in the spiritual and some meat on your faith if you like .
nanaboys2 I saw this reply and noticed that it was posted a year ago but I pray that the darkness that you feel has been lifted! I know the feeling and sometimes it comes from being wrapped up in a sin habit that we may be unaware of or that God is calling us to grow and sometimes growth is induced through being "thrown out to fend for ourselves" for a time. Whatever the case, God loves you and will always be there in your time of need in His own perfect way and timing. thank you. im in the darkest part of my life now. i feel God is silent as of right now. even if i am involved in a church since i was a kid, received Christ, have wonderful Godly people around me, mentors who love my soul, people who remind me God is faithful. there will always be a hole that i feel God isn't there. i thank you for reminding me to be strong in the Lord, seek Him because He is doing something amazing that He does not want you to yet know. for now i am crying and in despair. no one can comfort my soul but i wrap myself around what God told me in the past, that He loves me and that He is not forsaking me. that He has not left my side but is carrying me and making footprints in the sand so that when i look back I truly will be joyful without any doubt and sorrow. thank you for this encouragement that it happens to God's people.

Whenever I have breakthroughs I always pay for John Piper and thank God and ask that He bless John for his kind and gentle soul. John stands by at the door for the lowly souls. He waits extra long for the slowest straggler. I always consider this noble because many do not out of fear that they will begin to pity themselves or compromise glory for pity pride. But that is not an easy risk to take, it's a battle of lowliness which doesn't have the same sparks and trumpets of bold and loud faith. (Not that John doesn't from time to time).
The phenomena discussed here is known own as the 'Dark night of the Soul' and has been experienced by many Saints, including Mother Theresa. Sometimes Gods hiding Himself for a while from us is a form of discipline, if we have grieved his father's heart with repeated sin. Paradoxically, this drawing away from God can be a means of drawing near to Him. We must learn to know God even in His silence.
I have went through this period of loneliness. Not long after I had became a Christian God had convicted me to quit smoking and I was struggling with it so I was beeing chastised and it seamed liked i just couldn't talk to God whenever I wanted . But I just kept seeking God's will and he would still reward me with blessings ever so often .

I was on fire for the Lord, I had an upcoming operation which I thought I was mentally/spirituality ready. It went badly, it's been a month today. I feel abandoned. I recently lost someone very important to me. And can’t help but feel like everything bad that could possibly happen is happening. I have constant fear of evil and I guess you could say hell. It's amazing how much can happen in just 24 hours! Last night I qued up this video because I was feeling distant from God, and have been for some time, but I never got around to watching it till now. But something happened in this last day that made me feel comfort in God's presence again. The only thing I've done differently I guess was that for the last 11 days, I chose to fast from video games because of a video I saw of someone doing an 11-day fast, so I thought, hmm maybe I'll do this with video games. The fast ended today so I woke up and got on a game, but then I remembered I hadn't done my bible reading, so I paused the game and read my bible as well as watched the church sermon online that I missed yesterday. I think all of this combined probably contributed to me feeling comfort again, likely sacrificing something I enjoy so I could put God first. For a while, I've been really stressing about not feeling God and worried about my salvation, but as of right now, I don't feel far from God anymore. I pray this lasts, and I pray that anyone else who was feeling far from God keeps seeking Him, and maybe if you feel God calling you to fast from something you enjoy, maybe you'll have success with that as well.

I’m in the same situation I’ve been in it for 11 months. I’ve prayed, repented, praised, worshiped, read the Bible ect.. and nothing. I’ve even tried to have a good sense of humor about it. It will be a year next month I might get a cake with a one in it. And sing “it’s my desert anniversary” because it would be. As sad as I am I know he hasn’t left me. He’s not a liar. It’s just his plan that I don’t understand. But he never said we would understand what he was doing. He is a good God. If you don’t cling to anything else cling to the scripture that says “I shall never leave or forsake you” if you’d like to talk I can give you my information. It’s hard going though this not many people understand it. And their first reaction is to tell you you must have sinned. But that’s not always true. I’m here for you.
@@Perfectlyradiant_ i understand where you coming from because it is so hard to understand his plan. Why does he leave us in a season of waiting for him? I don't know and its fustrating sometimes. But we do know he is faithful and he will never leave us nor forsake us. In my case, I have sinned and that drew me away from him. I left him for a bit and now he is allowing me to learn.
I’ve sinned as well but this is a sin I’ve asked for help with. I can’t fully stop it on my own. I need the Holy Spirit to help me. It also feels like it’s not helping me. But I know that can’t be true. My advice to you and me as well is to do the opposite of what you feel like. If you want to cry then sing. Write a poem about your feelings. Praise him anyway on purpose. The only thing that makes me feel good about this is that I tick the Devil off everytime I sing, pray, read the word anyway. And that makes me smile.

Just passed 7 months the other day. It was really hard to hang onto God's promises at first but now I'm at a point where I know there's no where else to go. He is perfectly faithful. The distance will continue until God decides to release me of it. It won't be a single second longer than it has to be.
I know this is old.. But how are you doing? I was in a wilderness myself that lasted a year and a half.... God is faithful he did bring me out. And I knew he didn’t leave me in it a second longer than needed. Although I’m going through another one right now. It’s really hard. Especially when you can’t turn back to your old ways for comfort.

The story of Naaman is a lesson in how to listen for God's answer to prayer. When Naaman arriveed at Elisha's house Elisha didn't even come out to meet him. He sent his servaant with a message. Naaman, a high official, said "That isn't what I expected to happen." But his advisers said: "This is easily done; do it anyway." Naaman did it, and was healed. The story I told elsewhere about the two bereaved people had the same message: God's answer may not come in the way that you expected. Don't impose your will on God. As Jesus said to the Devil n the wilderness: You shall not put God to the test.
I feel this same way. I don't feel a connection to God or the Holy Spirit, and that my prayers are meaningless. And why do all the preachers talk about things lasting a "season"?! SEASONS HAVE ENDS!!! WHEN DOES THIS END??!!

Hey :) I understand you. I have the same problems. Maybe you think too hard about it like me. I would recommend you to search after gods love for you and the gospel. It's also important to not listen to your own thoughts or feelings. I feel like I'm coming out of the season now and I can say that I've learned a lot in the dark times. I think god prepares you for something, so you can be a blessing in many ways! :) Don't give up and stay strong! The life with god and god is good. And don't forget: God is never far away and don't be angry. Our folds are the world, our flesh and the devil. Most the reason of darkness is in one of them or that the Gospel isn't alive in you. Maybe there's something in your heart keeping you away from god, something like bitterness. Try to find what it is and ask God for help. I'm sure you get through this! God bless you!

I've been in Christ for about 8 months. There have been many periods that I have failed distant from God, for example a period might have lasted three to four days or even a week. I tell you after every sorrow yeshua has been there and he has over it such a great delight in his presence. I know from first hand I'd say, and I have got to learn many more things, that after every period of darkness the light of God and his grace falls upon us slowly and lovingly. Be patient and try to learn more things during this period. Rejoice in the hope that yeshua is still up there and he's with you and the Lord shall come and show his self to you. Be still and fight the fight with God on your side, because God is not a feeling but he is the Creator. By faith it is that we live, not by sights and not by feelings. Prayer;;; Dear heavenly father today I pray oh God that my siblings in Christ Jesus would be free oh God from the devils clutches. I pray oh God that on your perfect timing you would reveal thy holy self oh Father and open up our souls to you my God. Heavenly Father I pray for my siblings give them strength of God to have faith and to overcome any fear oh God. Whats your age?? [Sorry for the weird question ] I feel very numb too, And i keep having thoughts to go back to my old way of life. But my will is WILLING, I dont wanna sin anymore. I feel so numb to the point where hell isnt even scary too much, because i think God has predestined me there. I feel absolutely no love for God or for The Lord Jesus. But my body just refuses to give up. My mind just keeps saying keep going... And i yearn for God yet i dont hear his voice. I cant even cry... thats how numb i am. And my heart feels numb/hard. Furios - My wonderful friend! Sounds like you may need deliverance!! Spirits within us do this kind of stuff. I've been walking with the LORD for almost 3years and got delivered from a spirit 2 days ago. The most amazing freedom i've ever felt. Similar thing, numb, hurt, burdened, not proper reverence to GOD and hell. etc. Find some Children of the living GOD and ask them to anoint and deliver you! Amen! The death and resurrection of Jesus for our sins is not the question. We know He has done that. Its every other promise that the scripture gives us that is the issue. After over 35 years of being a Christian I have sadly had to admit we have been taught wrongly about biblical promises outside of salvation. Every day reality if life would tell me that we are saved by grace but after that we are on our own until we meet Him after death or rapture.
I think there is a HUGE CLUE to this question that is hidden in an allegory of Proverbs 7:19.. "my husband has gone on a long journey"... In other words, the presence of God is not being felt, and instead, the temptations of the world are available...
When we break the bread and drink the wine in what we call the communion or remembrance feast, it is our privilege to bring to mind the one who loved us and gave Himself for us on the cross of calvary. When we meditate on HIS love we are drawn out in Love towards Him in response. The Lord Jesus cannot resist love towards Himself. That is why He comes to presence at that service. It has absolutely nothing to do with the Roman Catholic doctrine of the Eucharist which is nonsense. The word for remembrance means an affectionate calling of a person to mind or presence. So how do you bring the Lord close - Tell Him you love Him and mean it.
I don't have fear in God I'm frightened like a coward. In my heart I shouldn't have to question if I'm going to heaven or hell. Hopefully my messed up life was just preparing me for something as a blessing instead of a curse. Maybe if I didn't have all these medical conditions I would've sinned my way straight to Hell.

Salvation entails the knowledge & awareness of God's indwelling presence in us. I wonder how it would be possible for a saved person who's growing in his Salvation & in the knowledge of his Savior to feel distant from a God who's living inside him? The only answer that I could come up with is that the brother needs Salvation.

You can be saved and feel distant from God. You know he lives in you but you don’t see his face or feel his presence for a time It doesn’t mean your not saved. This happened to many people in the Bible.

That was because God did not live inside them neither were they made a New Creation nor were they permanently filled with the Holy Spirit. But could you please mention one born-again child of God under the New Covenant who felt distant from God (not feeling the presence of God)?
I’m not quite sure what your asking me.. It seems you think people who don’t always feel God aren’t saved.. I’m not a bible scholar or anything but I do have the Holy Spirit living in me. What this video is talking about is the born again Christian who knows God lives in them. That hasn’t felt his presence in awhile. They did not lose their salvation though. I’m sure you don’t feel God every second of the day either. But this is just a prolonged period God has placed the person in for his own reasons. It will eventually come back.
Kathleen Wharton - there is a lot of truth in what you say Kathleen. We are exhorted to call upon the Lord with those who call upon Him out of a pure heart. Too many people go to a 'church' because of what they teach or who is there. The church which Christ is building Himself is a far distance from so much of what Christendom has developed into. We are told to 'forsake not the assembling of ourselves together', but not into denominations or such like. Jesus said: By this shall all men know that you are my disciples, by your love one for another. Where is the Love nowadays?

The important thing is that we Forgive each other. His last act was forgiving the Pharisees as He is hanging on the cross. Jesus Said..”Give and you shall be given. Forgive and you shall be forgiven. Another important thing having to do with this video is the fact that you should be involved in a church. I felt the same and then a pastor told me, "Become a member of a church, get involved, pour yourself into the church, and allow them to pour into you." It has benefited me spiritually beyond my ability to describe.
JesusisGod #Big3 I think that is important of course, but I think it's important not to put expectations on the people of the church, because people fail to meet expectations. I noticed I had done this unknowingly and it waivered my faith when people didn't treat me as I thought I should be treated. Now I go to church by myself because my husband works, if people talk to me and say hi that is fine, but if they don't I am still going to go to praise the Lord. Your thoughts on this?

in time I understand that, but the command from Scripture is to “Forsake not the gathering of Believers.” That seems to be a universal command, although I understand that not everyone ‘wants’ to be surrounded by people. I really feel that God blesses obedience, especially when it is difficult.
My prayer was answered to God be the Glory, the Lord always restores his sheep.
I’ve been through this … for almost a year it was awful … it must be one of the hardest things I’ve ever been through. But when God did bring me through it was amazing , and it increased my faith dramatically . It’s SOOO hard , but the growth in the spiritual and some meat on your faith if you like .

nanaboys2 I saw this reply and noticed that it was posted a year ago but I pray that the darkness that you feel has been lifted! I know the feeling and sometimes it comes from being wrapped up in a sin habit that we may be unaware of or that God is calling us to grow and sometimes growth is induced through being "thrown out to fend for ourselves" for a time. Whatever the case, God loves you and will always be there in your time of need in His own perfect way and timing. Yahweh bless you, your life, your family and anything else that this prayer needs to be applied to :)

thank you. im in the darkest part of my life now. i feel God is silent as of right now. even if i am involved in a church since i was a kid, received Christ, have wonderful Godly people around me, mentors who love my soul, people who remind me God is faithful. there will always be a hole that i feel God isn't there. i thank you for reminding me to be strong in the Lord, seek Him because He is doing something amazing that He does not want you to yet know.
for now i am crying and in despair. no one can comfort my soul but i wrap myself around what God told me in the past, that He loves me and that He is not forsaking me. that He has not left my side but is carrying me and making footprints in the sand so that when i look back I truly will be joyful without any doubt and sorrow.

Whenever I have breakthroughs I always pay for John Piper and thank God and ask that He bless John for his kind and gentle soul. John stands by at the door for the lowly souls. He waits extra long for the slowest straggler. I always consider this noble because many do not out of fear that they will begin to pity themselves or compromise glory for pity pride. But that is not an easy risk to take, it's a battle of lowliness which doesn't have the same sparks and trumpets of bold and loud faith. (Not that John doesn't from time to time).

The phenomena discussed here is known own as the 'Dark night of the Soul' and has been experienced by many Saints, including Mother Theresa. Sometimes Gods hiding Himself for a while from us is a form of discipline, if we have grieved his father's heart with repeated sin. Paradoxically, this drawing away from God can be a means of drawing near to Him. We must learn to know God even in His silence.

I have went through this period of loneliness. Not long after I had became a Christian God had convicted me to quit smoking and I was struggling with it so I was beeing chastised and it seamed liked i just couldn't talk to God whenever I wanted . But I just kept seeking God's will and he would still reward me with blessings ever so often .

I know God sees me (El ROI) I need to push my prayers through that brass ceiling but the devil is whispering some ugly stuff. I want to preserver pray and study if I feel comfy or not. This is rough. It's amazing how much can happen in just 24 hours! Last night I qued up this video because I was feeling distant from God, and have been for some time, but I never got around to watching it till now. But something happened in this last day that made me feel comfort in God's presence again. The only thing I've done differently I guess was that for the last 11 days, I chose to fast from video games because of a video I saw of someone doing an 11-day fast, so I thought, hmm maybe I'll do this with video games. The fast ended today so I woke up and got on a game, but then I remembered I hadn't done my bible reading, so I paused the game and read my bible as well as watched the church sermon online that I missed yesterday. I think all of this combined probably contributed to me feeling comfort again, likely sacrificing something I enjoy so I could put God first. For a while, I've been really stressing about not feeling God and worried about my salvation, but as of right now, I don't feel far from God anymore. I pray this lasts, and I pray that anyone else who was feeling far from God keeps seeking Him, and maybe if you feel God calling you to fast from something you enjoy, maybe you'll have success with that as well.

I’m in the same situation I’ve been in it for 11 months. I’ve prayed, repented, praised, worshiped, read the Bible ect.. and nothing. I’ve even tried to have a good sense of humor about it. It will be a year next month I might get a cake with a one in it. And sing “it’s my desert anniversary” because it would be. As sad as I am I know he hasn’t left me. He’s not a liar. It’s just his plan that I don’t understand. But he never said we would understand what he was doing. He is a good God. If you don’t cling to anything else cling to the scripture that says “I shall never leave or forsake you” if you’d like to talk I can give you my information. It’s hard going though this not many people understand it. And their first reaction is to tell you you must have sinned. But that’s not always true. I’m here for you.
@@Perfectlyradiant_ i understand where you coming from because it is so hard to understand his plan. Why does he leave us in a season of waiting for him? I don't know and its fustrating sometimes. But we do know he is faithful and he will never leave us nor forsake us. In my case, I have sinned and that drew me away from him. I left him for a bit and now he is allowing me to learn.
I’ve sinned as well but this is a sin I’ve asked for help with. I can’t fully stop it on my own. I need the Holy Spirit to help me. It also feels like it’s not helping me. But I know that can’t be true. My advice to you and me as well is to do the opposite of what you feel like. If you want to cry then sing. Write a poem about your feelings. Praise him anyway on purpose. The only thing that makes me feel good about this is that I tick the Devil off everytime I sing, pray, read the word anyway. And that makes me smile.

Just passed 7 months the other day. It was really hard to hang onto God's promises at first but now I'm at a point where I know there's no where else to go. He is perfectly faithful. The distance will continue until God decides to release me of it. It won't be a single second longer than it has to be.
I know this is old.. But how are you doing? I was in a wilderness myself that lasted a year and a half.... God is faithful he did bring me out. And I knew he didn’t leave me in it a second longer than needed. Although I’m going through another one right now. It’s really hard. Especially when you can’t turn back to your old ways for comfort.

Jesus is my Lord and my Saviour how ever long it takes , I think .
The story of Naaman is a lesson in how to listen for God's answer to prayer. When Naaman arriveed at Elisha's house Elisha didn't even come out to meet him. He sent his servaant with a message. Naaman, a high official, said "That isn't what I expected to happen." But his advisers said: "This is easily done; do it anyway." Naaman did it, and was healed. The story I told elsewhere about the two bereaved people had the same message: God's answer may not come in the way that you expected. Don't impose your will on God. As Jesus said to the Devil n the wilderness: You shall not put God to the test.
I feel this same way. I don't feel a connection to God or the Holy Spirit, and that my prayers are meaningless.
And why do all the preachers talk about things lasting a "season"?!

Hey :) I understand you. I have the same problems. Maybe you think too hard about it like me. I would recommend you to search after gods love for you and the gospel. It's also important to not listen to your own thoughts or feelings. I feel like I'm coming out of the season now and I can say that I've learned a lot in the dark times. I think god prepares you for something, so you can be a blessing in many ways! :)
Don't give up and stay strong! The life with god and god is good. And don't forget: God is never far away and don't be angry. Our folds are the world, our flesh and the devil. Most the reason of darkness is in one of them or that the Gospel isn't alive in you. Maybe there's something in your heart keeping you away from god, something like bitterness. Try to find what it is and ask God for help. I'm sure you get through this!

I've been in Christ for about 8 months. There have been many periods that I have failed distant from God, for example a period might have lasted three to four days or even a week. I tell you after every sorrow yeshua has been there and he has over it such a great delight in his presence. I know from first hand I'd say, and I have got to learn many more things, that after every period of darkness the light of God and his grace falls upon us slowly and lovingly. Be patient and try to learn more things during this period. Rejoice in the hope that yeshua is still up there and he's with you and the Lord shall come and show his self to you. Be still and fight the fight with God on your side, because God is not a feeling but he is the Creator. By faith it is that we live, not by sights and not by feelings.

Dear heavenly father today I pray oh God that my siblings in Christ Jesus would be free oh God from the devils clutches. I pray oh God that on your perfect timing you would reveal thy holy self oh Father and open up our souls to you my God. I feel very numb too, And i keep having thoughts to go back to my old way of life. But my will is WILLING, I dont wanna sin anymore.
I feel so numb to the point where hell isnt even scary too much, because i think God has predestined me there.
I feel absolutely no love for God or for The Lord Jesus. But my body just refuses to give up. My mind just keeps saying keep going...
And i yearn for God yet i dont hear his voice. I cant even cry... thats how numb i am. And my heart feels numb/hard. I hope we keep pushing.
Furios - My wonderful friend! Sounds like you may need deliverance!! Spirits within us do this kind of stuff. I've been walking with the LORD for almost 3years and got delivered from a spirit 2 days ago. The most amazing freedom i've ever felt.
Similar thing, numb, hurt, burdened, not proper reverence to GOD and hell. etc.
Find some Children of the living GOD and ask them to anoint and deliver you! Amen! Have a session on repenting, renouncing, and seeking the LORDs wonderful self. Fast a day and do this. Hope this helps you my friends!! xxxxxxxx

The death and resurrection of Jesus for our sins is not the question. We know He has done that. Its every other promise that the scripture gives us that is the issue. After over 35 years of being a Christian I have sadly had to admit we have been taught wrongly about biblical promises outside of salvation. Every day reality if life would tell me that we are saved by grace but after that we are on our own until we meet Him after death or rapture.

When we break the bread and drink the wine in what we call the communion or remembrance feast, it is our privilege to bring to mind the one who loved us and gave Himself for us on the cross of calvary. When we meditate on HIS love we are drawn out in Love towards Him in response.
The Lord Jesus cannot resist love towards Himself. That is why He comes to presence at that service. It has absolutely nothing to do with the Roman Catholic doctrine of the Eucharist which is nonsense. The word for remembrance means an affectionate calling of a person to mind or presence.
So how do you bring the Lord close - Tell Him you love Him and mean it.

I don't have fear in God I'm frightened like a coward. In my heart I shouldn't have to question if I'm going to heaven or hell. Hopefully my messed up life was just preparing me for something as a blessing instead of a curse. Maybe if I didn't have all these medical conditions I would've sinned my way straight to Hell.

Salvation entails the knowledge & awareness of God's indwelling presence in us. I wonder how it would be possible for a saved person who's growing in his Salvation & in the knowledge of his Savior to feel distant from a God who's living inside him?
The only answer that I could come up with is that the brother needs Salvation.

It's clear that without placing your trust in the blood of Jesus for reconciliation with the Father & not having the righteousness of Jesus Christ, we are not saved. So David was not saved.
But God gives these men of faith in the Old Covenant an opportunity:

You can be saved and feel distant from God. You know he lives in you but you don’t see his face or feel his presence for a time It doesn’t mean your not saved. This happened to many people in the Bible.

All the Old Covenant men of God had felt the aloofness from God at some point. That was because God did not live inside them neither were they made a New Creation nor were they permanently filled with the Holy Spirit.
But could you please mention one born-again child of God under the New Covenant who felt distant from God (not feeling the presence of God)?
I’m not quite sure what your asking me.. It seems you think people who don’t always feel God aren’t saved.. I’m not a bible scholar or anything but I do have the Holy Spirit living in me. What this video is talking about is the born again Christian who knows God lives in them. That hasn’t felt his presence in awhile. They did not lose their salvation though. I’m sure you don’t feel God every second of the day either. But this is just a prolonged period God has placed the person in for his own reasons. It will eventually come back.

Kathleen Wharton - there is a lot of truth in what you say Kathleen. We are exhorted to call upon the Lord with those who call upon Him out of a pure heart. Too many people go to a 'church' because of what they teach or who is there. The church which Christ is building Himself is a far distance from so much of what Christendom has developed into. We are told to 'forsake not the assembling of ourselves together', but not into denominations or such like. Jesus said: By this shall all men know that you are my disciples, by your love one for another. Where is the Love nowadays?

It is our responsibility to Seek Jesus ourselves and Do as He asked us..whether we assemble or not. We do not have to assemble according to Jesus. It is important that we Seek Him. The important thing is that we Forgive each other. His last act was forgiving the Pharisees as He is hanging on the cross. Jesus Said..”Give and you shall be given. Forgive and you shall be forgiven. Judge not that you be not judged.” There is little forgiveness and too much judging going on in Christiandom..for each other and for the world. “Seek Jesus..Do what is Right for yourSelf and Forgive everybody else.” The only thing I can figure out!
