So here I sit at 70 playing my Selmer Series 9 that I bought in about 1968 or so. Now with time on my hands, I am really working hard to become a player who makes music with others as opposed to playing alone in his basement. Not easy. (In fairness, I am better than I ever was but that is not good enough.) As for the licks, this is wonderful. Simply great. I am slowly, VERY slowly, learning how to improvise and play a more jazz style. It is not easy. For any of your looking at this great video, please see Eddie Daniels teaching how to play a jazz version of Somewhere Over the Rainbow. It is warm and funny and brilliant. I should point out that Eddie Daniels and I are both Brooklyn Boys. Once again, I thank you for the licks. I will like and subscribe.
Ill practice swinging those arpeggios! Thank U sir, there is always a significant amount of arpeggio swing from Benny just as you mention in this video, but you are so right he does it so bloody much and suprisingly it doesn't get old ..
