(Actually- we did 24 patterns, but 20 sounds better!)
The ii - V - I progression is a vital component in understanding harmony, and how to play over it..
As developing improvisers, learning these "snippets of language" help us to develop technically, harmonically, and rhythmically.
In this video, we've shared lines by many of the clarinet masters, and some other great instrumentalists in jazz. They more or less increase in harmonic and technical complexity.
To delve deeper into this concept, we've released a new E-Book package called:
THE ULTIMATE ii - V- I COMPENDIUM
With over 200 licks for clarinet, in all 12 keys, and contains over 100 backing tracks!

Wow, this is great, thank you ! From which solo is John Coltrane’s lick at 0:28 please? Warm regards,

Thanks! I tried to follow your right pinky because I really have problem when pressing keys especially when playing C# in arched position. Yours do not get arched, I would really appreciate it if you could give some tips for beginners. Thank you!
What is your resonance fingering for open, 2nd line "G"?
How I get this sheet music?
I'd have to play this at 1% percent speed to keep up😅
