I so enjoy your sharing with us about your time spent in entertainment and traveling. My husband and I have been road musicians for 50 years, no other job. We are a Duo and continue playing at ages 70 and 73. We are currently 6 months at The Pirate’s Den in Parker, AZ. Love your videos!
That is awesome, I do miss my life on stage, I managed to be performing in musicals as a dancer until I was 44 and then had to retire as my age was going against me at auditions and the toll on my body was becoming hard to cope with.
The story of this page is delightful. You do know our friend Gayle’s tendency to whack of bits of bugs and birds. We love her though. Love your explanation of why you place items in your layouts. Thank you for sharing your talents.
I totally understand why you start with corners- just like a puzzle you start with the edges and corners; collaging is like a puzzle! This is brilliant and makes me yearn for spring and summer! I love flowers so very much and loved this video. Thank you Ceri!
Ceri, what a pretty collage. We are all yearning for Spring, aren’t we? I, too, enjoy adding a fairy or two in my work. Life is too serious at times, so some whimsy is certainly welcomed. Bless you for sharing. Stay safe and well. 🌻🌺🌸🌷🌹🌼
Another great journey with you. Love the result. Fairies and flowers… how can you go wrong? And hearing you debating if 🦋 are needed… priceless. You did not drive me crazy, but i do drive myself crazy with too much auditioning of pieces. Great fun. Thanks for the inspiration. 🌺💐🌻🦋
It’s funny the things that we miss. We live about 15 minutes north of Washington DC. I haven’t been downtown for at least 3 years. I feel like many of our big cities are like the Wild West. Crime is so much worse. What I miss is going to craft stores and dollar tree. I don’t miss malls at all. Oh well, we all have to do what we feel led to do. I’m loving this collage. Hugs, treen 💕💕💕
So glad no fairies were maimed in the making of this collage! 😂. Absolutely love watching you collage! You’re the master! This beautiful garden scene has me yearning for spring. My tulips and daffodils are up maybe a half inch, so it’s coming! And summer…aw, can’t wait! This beautiful collage will hold me for now. Love and hugs to you, dear friend! ❤️
Ceri, as always your ability to take a scrape of this and a scrape of that, and all of a sudden you've made a beautiful fairy 🧚♀️ garden, just amazes me! I love how the other fairies are "hiding" in the garden. TFS!
That was a beautiful page to celebrate the coming Summer, Ceri! Thanks for taking us with you on the journey and sharing your thought process as you made all the difficult design decisions! Thanks for the inspiration!
I have quite a lot of magazines that I got at an estate sale in my neighborhood. You have given me some great ideas for colloguing with some of these mags. I really didn't know to start them out. Thank you Ceri!
Beautiful collage page, feels like a Secret Garden. I love the Flower Fairies, I have the postcards and fabric of those, This just gave me inspiration to use them in the double journal that I have on my desk which is inspired by Gayle,
You say you can’t hear us, but you almost always do what I am urging you to do on this end of things! I love how freely you design your pieces, and your composition that makes everything come together so satisfyingly! Thanks for another great video!
I agree with you about being cautious about the virus, how exciting that you get to visit your friends on the 4th!! We live directly across the lake from Chicago in Michigan 80 miles away. Chicago is a great city!!! Omg I love this page so much. You must have heard me screaming “butterflies”. Lol Btw, I’m glad you didn’t cut off her toes, Gayle does always feel bad when she cut off legs, and other parts of her creatures though 😵💫
Absolutely beautiful ceri. I'm on the same page as you with the virus 100% we have our son in hospital since April 2021. We can only visit him for 45 minutes once a week fully PPE. To keep him safe from the virus ( his illness is not covid connected )
Love this!! It just shouts "Summer in full bloom!!" Thoroughly enjoyed watching you put this altogether and hearing your though process on the collage!! TFS Ceri!! Hugs, Liz:)
From one garden lover to another - wonderful collage~ Finding the "just right" pieces brings joy. It's snowing here today in Virginia and I am so longing for warmer days.
I love your fairy garden. I wish I were the lady walking into it. I'm learning from you how to let background be background. I was cringing and wincing when you were putting things over your first layer of flowers but after you said it was background, I thought, "OK, maybe the fairies have a cottage garden and not a flower nursery." Thanks for sharing this with us. PS: My garden is currently a mess of dead stems and leaves, too. Our "last frost date" for planting in South Dakota is May 10.
This is such a beautiful collage! Some of the elements I wouldn't have used but I can't see the bigger picture. I have an eye for color, but you have a gift!
Just about the time you asked if you were driving us mad, I was thinking how often I have you, Gail or Edith playing while I'm doing something at the desk. When you were auditioning "Out of the ordinary," I thought it said, "Out of the library." I thought to myself, "Yep, that's exactly what I needed more of when I was young."
Hi Ceri, only found you a week or so ago. So inspiring. I make cards, but have just bought a scrap book to have a go. My best friend is retiring in Feb next year, so I thought, I'd do a book of our memories. I know it's early but never done it before. By the way I live in Caerphilly!
Ceri, This is a wonderfully whimsical piece of art and joy! I love it! My mother, who is from Newfoundland, use to tell me stories about the fairies up there. She actually said she had seen some when she was growing up. I always loved hearing those tales and this brings back that fun for me. Thus, this piece really speaks to me on a very personal level. Thank you for sharing your creative process, too! I also do photography so totally understand what you mean about placement of items. I'm always looking for that golden ratio! I really enjoyed this video today! Kudos and Hugs! Sue ❤
I LOVE LOVE LOVE your collages. I haven't been watching you for long but I am loving everything you do. I must admit...I have turned on one of your videos, that I've already watched, just so I can listen to you while I craft. Your voice is soothing for me. I can't help but sneak peeks as I craft, of course. I especially loved this collage because it reminded me of the collage I did recently. I felt eager for Spring and that is what I went with. Flowers are beautiful, am I right? An expert I am not, not even a decent novice when it comes to collaging but I still love to do them...practice practice practice and all that. I usually just watch in awe of your skills. This time, toward the end when it came to adding the butterflies, I found I was putting my two cents in with you. Surprisingly enough I chose the exact spots for the butterflies as you did. Unbelievable!!! If your intuition is rubbing off on me, (I can only hope), that would be amazing. Thank you so much and keep on with your wonderful videos. I appreciate you.
@@CeriGriffiths Thank you for replying. I know you are a busy man. No need to reply to this one. I just wanted to let you know that it was Gayle that sparked my interest in you, as she speaks very kindly of you, then with your 5 item swap. She is such a sweet person. Thanks to her, I now have another creative person to watch, with much interest, who deals in just clean crafting fun. I look forward to watching more of your content.
Hi again Ceri, I LOVE this page you did! All my colors. What is the name of the fairy book you have been using? Love your choice of flowers. After the dry and dreary gray and brown winter we have experience this past winter I’m happy to see some beautiful colors and flowers I’m anxious for spring and summer. Here in Utah. We are in a water drought. And have not had the winter storms hardly at all that leaves lots of snow powder. I really love your process. In my past life of the working world I was a professional baker wedding cake decorator and finisher and we ran a family catering wedding catering service and dinner parties so I have a bit of the same background as what you are in however I have retired. After 39 years of that business. Very Successful but lots and lots of hours and hard work

Especially your collage pieces become a game for me: Yes, put it there. Well, not so sure. No, no, not in that area. And then the final item is in place and it sings. Tidbit anent power of the line is welcome as instructional, a learning dimension for the viewer. Pandemic over - in Florida the governor long ago declared it over echoed by his looney tunes state surgeon general that masks are not a preventative. The political climate is surreal; the flora stunning year around. Wales seems sensible. Thank you.
Hello again... I'm watching this in July 2024 😊 strange hearing you speak on covid 😳 what a time that was 😒🤦♀️ funny thing is i still wear a mask here in NYC to avoid allergies which may flare my asthma, and also for other reasons.
I think the postage delivery thing between Countries is due to receiving Countries may still be on some kind of lock down or another and the sending Country is less restricted thereby making the receiving Country a little short on Postmen/women. The prices, at least here in America are reflective of the cost of gasoline. I'm not too sure why other Countries postage prices have gone up unless they too are having fuel price changes. Either way, sometimes I get angry about the costs and my angry self tends to think that greed might have something to do with some of the changes. Some folks will use any excuse to take advantage of other people and as long as they get away with it, prices just keep going up and up.
I love to watch you do your collage. If you're up to using it it would make beautiful Journal cards and tags. I have a couple collages I did with j o i e d e f i speaking into my iPad it just doesn't get some names right I had to spell it. This is specifically my collage art book which I made just for this purpose so I don’t take pages out for anything else.
Ceri, do you always keep your collage pieces on the vertical/ horizontal vertices?
I think I do....possibly not always consciously.
