Most of us here are beginners to intermediate and we have to make due with what we have. I'm sure if someone has the ability to hire a full crew of professionals and a budget of at least 100k then they probably already know what they want and need. So who exactly is this video for?
If you have to work with what you already have, why would you watch a video on what to buy?
Tips for reaching $100K in financing. 1) Have a good attitude. 2) Use your real legal name as your UA-cam username (or) make your legal name really easy to find on your UA-cam channel. 3) Post your film work on UA-cam. 4) Get a job that has nothing to do with filmmaking that pays well, even if this means going to school for something that you’re not particularly interested in but you’re competent at that pays well. (e.g. not film school) 5) And most importantly, have a good attitude as everyone in filmmaking is facing financial, logistical, and personal challenges.
@@cobymarcum1442 can you please explain using "real legal name" advice further?
@@shashankkumar2340 It is for marketing purposes if (emphasis on if) a person is looking for funding for their film projects. Or if they are a writer, director, actor, etc. looking for more client work. It is helpful if a person is building a brand to be searchable and findable on the internet so that people who want to work with them can get in contact with them. I hope this helps. 😊👍
You would be surprised at how many people with budget from 30k-100k wanting to make short films or feature films have no idea where the money is well spent. Heck, so many of them end up blowing a good chunk of their budget on camera without even understanding what goes into deciding what camera to shoot on. Everybody wants red and arri. For a 100k budget movie, do you really need a red or arri.
Bilkul adbhut saaf saaf vidio... information perfect...😊
Excellent list. For full film making workflow list, I would add editing - but that might be different episode.
Also, Film Riot actually shot a short film shooting audio into the camera once. It was a long time ago, but you wouldn't be able to notice because it sounds practically normal
what do you mean - mics connected into the camera (and not a recorder) or using JUST the camera mic?
@@lumikarhu into the camera
Awesome 👍 Thanks for the Lavalier mic tip too.
Amazing video! To the point. Keep amazing job.
Great video. Thank you. Ignore the haters, man. Keep up the great work.
Sure. I’ll buy a 10k$ tripod head
You sound so sincere, thanks for the information
Wow, what a fantastic video. Some professional advice, and not a teen recommending some dslr cameras. Thanks!
Great info, and great to see you in person! I like having a video where the person doesn't necessarily give all the info, but gives places to start looking and thinking.
Thanks a lot sir
Nice.thanks
I know what I want but I don't have the money
Are you a filmmaker if you shoot with a digital Arri? Can you make an amazing film with an iPhone?
I think I would answer both with yes.
Great vid bro! I will definitely thank you in my Oscar speech. 👍
What is your opinion on mobile filmmaking. I just got a new Redmi Xiamoi, a gimbal and some add on lenses to start ..
Hii what are some specific Filmmaking cameras would you personally recommend for beginner filmmakers?
@wolfcrow : Do you think vertical video is better than horizontal? UA-cam now favors lengthy vertical video apart from shorts. So, do you think the future of film making is vertical?
The genuine guide to beginners 💯
¿ What's a good XLR cable for recording voices? (Sennheisers MKH 50 and 416 to MixPre 6 ll).
i lack 9 and 10. And i kiiinda own a sound device, but i've spent almost 1.5 years preparing myself (getting the other 7) to see what i really need. My style will not need lights. Besides, you cant carry them where i plan to shoot anyway
1:06 what is that colour checker board name called.
Everytime i hear about the new Blackmagic sony or GH5 or alexa i remember Steven Soderberg shooting a big movie on an iphone. 😀
Those numbers... 23.000$ for a fluid head?? WOW!
But in all honesty great guide, people should think much more about the whole process.
At the same time I think people who don't get that, are not likely to consciously produce something interesting for me to watch.
😍😍😍
Can’t believe he is from India
Ok, gotcha. But how do I get all the money to afford all this stuff? ;-;
👍🏾😃✨✨
I'll be at the peace with the Blackmagic 4k lol
lol same here, I only have and can afford that. And Meiki lenses. If Sean Baker taught us anything with 'Tangerine', it is that you can totally make do with microbudgets too. But get THE SOUND RIGHT at any cost, even if it means spending more money on hiring a dedicated sound professional. And of course, last but not the least, solid actors who can do actually good acting.
Which one do you recommend between black magic 4k & Sony a7s iii
@@MulisaNM 4k, but I'm just being biased.
Renting is so much important than buying.
Unless you are a trustfund kid the gear is extremly expensive. You can not put all your money into a tool and then find the job requires a different tool and survive in this busniess. Then you realize the tool you purchased has become obsolete. You are fucked.
You can rent an Alexa today and a Sony Venace next week and still be able to buy groceries.
Rent it.
You want to buy something buy something that does not change quickly. A light meter and a cheap apps for your phone are 2 things you can afford and will use. If you do have money then perhaps Full Frame lens is the way to go. They will always be needed. Even then other lenses might be required for your project.
11. Time code generators.
Why two microphones? I've seen professionals due great sound with just one. Really it comes down to if you have the budget for two, get two. If not, use one and schedule time around getting the right sound
