Hollywood been using this (and far more advanced) tech for years, to pass off fake as real. They only use the inferior CGI when the audience is supposed to know something isn't real. Most of the characters in movies and TV are played by multiple people using such advanced face-replacement tech, and the audience is none the wiser.
That doesn't equate very well since it's all sourced from pre-existing material then putting it together. That clearly isn't JC's voice or body but a version of his face placed on someone else which is not the same as actually having the face, voice and body altogether in an actual new scene that is being created. There might also be issues in terms of the actor's guild not wanting deepfakes that look so "realistic".

Was constantly disappointed as a teenager because everyone was talking about how great movies were, but they all felt fake as fuck. Remember watching this exact scene and thinking like this is real life, this is what it feels like. Even the tiny details, like the dad being tired and walking into a door, just 👌

Luc Besson did a fantastic job with this movie, especially with Gary Oldman's character, and the corridor scene with the old lady, and the part where Stansfield loses his patience with Benny. I probably need to watch the movie again to pick out anything else of note.

Jim Carrey has a wonderful, Gary Oldman-esque approach in this film. Seriously though, incredible processing and rendering and matching. I don't know how this is done precisely but it's pretty amazing.
