    Where can I purchase those XL 3D Line Thru Gizzard Shad from Savage Gear? Tackle Warehouse doesn’t carry them anymore. A great video. You guys slayed some monsters. I think the stripers in Lake Murray would love those big shad.

    Would really like to have a live chat session, trolling is by far my favorite. Keeping on lines to keep baits from dragging. I also run deep diving plugs. Would love to be able to pick your brain. I think we all have things to share. Anyway love to watch the videos, nice to have clean channel to watch. Keep holding fast to the faith, and keep putting out videos.

    Awesome videos and content! I have been fishing hickory with the same set up and have been doing well too. I have also been picking up some really good large mouths along with the striper schools. Keep the videos coming ; look forward to them!

    Love Rhodhiss! Been fishing it for many years. I hope is stays low traffic but it seems to be growing with homes soon to be ruined for fisherman.

      I got one they work great, i usually stop the boat and retrieve, but I had an older a-rig on that rod that needed upgrading anyway so with a fish on it wasn’t worth stopping the boat at that point. Thanks for watching buddy

    Have you been doing good lately? I use to fish with my dad at Hickory at least once a week, if not more, but then had a kid, and now I go when I can not when I want, but want to go soon an just wondering how it been latey

      Hey Nick it’s been pretty slow on Hickory the last month. These crazy weather swings we have had along with the rain hurt the bite. We have been exploring around other area lakes with the same luck .Hopefully it picks back up soon

    Are you guys trolling with the big motor and a trolling plate, or trolling motor up front?

    • @merceroutdoors
      @merceroutdoors  2 роки тому

      Technically both lol. If 2mph or up I’ll use the big motor and trolling plate but steer with the trolling motor to conserve battery. 1.5 or so I’ll just use the trolling motor

    Going out this weekend to try out my new Captain Mac’s mini rigs. I love using planer boards. What speed and length of line do you use most? I know it all depends on depth you want but I’ve been seeing bait anywhere from 10 to 20 feet. The area I will be fishing is probably 20-30 feet. Just don’t want to lose my rigs bumping the bottom. Oh and what is max speed you recommend for planer boards using these rigs. BTW - really love my lord and savior Jesus Christ.

    • @merceroutdoors
      @merceroutdoors  2 роки тому

      Thanks for watching. 1.5 seems to be a good middle ground. Sometimes they want it slower, sometimes faster but based on 1.5mph -60ft back gets u 11ft depth. 90ft back gets you 15ft depth, and 120ft back gets you to 19ft depth. This is with 20lb mono

      @@merceroutdoors okay. I’m using 40 pound mono. What factor should I use for the extra line weight. Will it really matter that much? Thank you for the info.

    nice videos. Thanks for sharing. I have been running the mini macks around 1mph here in LKG with the planer boards...still trying to figure out how much line to let out after the planer boards to reach desired depths (seems like most fish and bait here is around 30-40ft

    • @merceroutdoors
      @merceroutdoors  2 роки тому +1

      Thx man, at 1mph on 20lb mono 60ft will get you to 24ft. 90ft back will be 28ft.

      @@merceroutdoors Thanks for the tips! I was hoping I could find a chart or something with different speeds, line thickness, etc that showed approximate depth for the Mini's, but I suppose there are just way too many variables that go into it. I will certainly give these settings a whirl though. Thanks again and keep up with the great videos!

    Having to use my wife's account......I'm going with a group of guys from church to Hickory the weekend of the 14th of May. I have a few questions and there are relatively few folks who fish Hickory for stripers. I've been watching your videos and I'm impressed. Do you have an email address, social media account or phone number I could reach you on? I usually fish Boone Lake, Cherokee and Hartwell. Hickory is all new to me and I'd like to turn these guys onto some fish.
