I mostly fish old hickory for bass and catfish but never targeted striper. Whats the best way to find these fish on old hickory?

I’m not sure I’m the best one to answer that but I just see them busting shad on the surface right after daybreak.

im throwing a 7' medium heavy rod with a variety of reels but most are high speed retrieve, like 7.3:1 ratio. I like Daiwa, but I have old Pinnacles, Abu Garcia and quite a few Pro Qualifers from Bass Pro.@@robertmoll1270
