    Drove my '17 GS Corvette (black, of course) to a cruise in last weekend and got rained on so came home and did the full four bucket wash then put it in the garage with the cover on it. Now I've just watched and enjoyed another guy doing the same procedure! Between you and Matt at OG I'm reassured that I'm not alone in my obsessions, there are dozens of us! Dozens!

    Great series Chuck! If anyone had told me that I would be glued to a screen watching not one, but TWO videos of some guy washing a car I would have called them nuts! Of course, it is a ZO6, but you did a great job and held my interest. Learning as much as I can so that when I get my Corvette I'll be dialed in right from the start. Thanks!

    Hey Chuck....I worked for GM for 41 years here in Michigan and have family that still works for the company. There is a mid-engine Corvette coming. GM will sell the mid-engine and the conventional Corvette together. The mid-engine will eventually have the front wheels powered by electric motors in addition to its rear wheel drive. That's the latest that I know.

    The master blaster is the best way to go to prevent scratches. I just spent 5 hours doing paint correction on my new '18 GS with 139 miles on it. Dealership hack scratches from a dirty contaminated towel!! Ughhh.

    • @RustyZipper
      @RustyZipper 7 років тому +3

      When I picked up mine with 10k miles it had a coat of parking lot dust on it. The dealer was wanting to wash it and I was insistent on just a quick rinse and it will dry when I drive it down the road. Keep the minimum wage kids away from it.

    Great video Chuck. The car looks great. I look out my window and see snow, but April's only two months away. I'm looking forward to that first car wash. Is the CR Spotless purely to filter out any residue in the city water so you don't get water spots before you dry the car. Or does it do more than that?.

    • @vetteb96c
      @vetteb96c 7 років тому +1

      It puts the water through resin beads and purifies the water. The resin only lasts so many washes then you have replenish it. Works great but not cheap to buy and maintain.

    • @Corvettes918
      @Corvettes918  7 років тому

      Like Mitch said its a resin that filters out the harsh chemicals that leave water spots on cars. As long as you don't wash AND Rinse the car with it but only rinse it you can get 20-25 car washes out of the resin before you need to change it out and it runs $75 for two bags as Sams or Costcos and sometimes Amazon runs special on it. I picked up two bags for $72 on Amazon a few weeks ago.

  • @blanejr1
    @blanejr1 7 років тому +2

    Hey, how many washes do you get with that CR system? Is it around $90 to replace the resin? I've read reviews and some people say they get 20 washes (smaller unit) and some say they only got 3. Who knows if any of them actually have the unit. Your Vette looks great so I'd feel safe with your info!

    • @Corvettes918
      @Corvettes918  7 років тому +3

      I have washed it 5 times so far and the gage just hit 1. The resin is good until the system shows 20. I only use during rinse so I am sure that helps it last longer vs someone who uses it for the entire car wash.

    Nice job Chuck ! Do you ever touch the car during the drying process with a micro cloth or anything ?

    • @Corvettes918
      @Corvettes918  7 років тому +1

      I have in the past but now with this CR and Master Blaster I don't touch the car with any cloth in the drying process. This will cut way down on the scratches and swirls.

    Thanks for the videos. Purchased a Master Blaster last week. Did your unit come with two wall hose mounting brackets?

      It came with one with the unit and then one came with the extended hose I purchased.

    Why not just use a leaf blower?

    • @Corvettes918
      @Corvettes918  7 років тому +3

      I have used a leaf blower in the past. This is far more effective. The leaf blower blows the general water off the car but this thing use can direct the water off the car. I don't even use a microfiber cloth to do any dry thing now. CR Spotless, blow it off with the Master Blaster and I am done. You seen the results. 👍😎

      I can never get the water from behind the mirrors to stop running down the door after I'm done, lol

    • @Daviddear30
      @Daviddear30 6 років тому

      I tried 3 different leaf blowers before going with the master blaster revolution with the 30 ft hose. No comparison. Much easier to maneuver around. Doesn't get heavy holding it up over head (tundra 4wd truck)
      I do miss how easy the Corvette was to wash compared to the truck though

    Great video Chuck. How exactly did you hang the Blaster? I see a metal bar on your wall. Did you not use the included wall mount?
    Also, is that a 30-foot hose?

    • @Corvettes918
      @Corvettes918  6 років тому +1

      Yes used the wall mount but wanted it centered and there was no stud in the middle so the angle iron allowed me to achieve this. Yea it’s 30ft in all.
