    I'm getting this exact model car soon and I'm excited. My grandparents bought it brand new and have only put 40k miles on it. I've only owned sedans so this will be my first SUV/midsized vehicle

      You will love it. It's a great reliable vehicle.

      Enjoy it! It’s great suv. I have a red one that has just over 150,000 miles. It’s the best car I’ve ever owned. Super fun to drive. I’ve had it 9 years!

    Great review! A review done by someone who's driven a car for four years is so much better than most 'new' reviews, as most of us buy second hand cars, not the brand new models. What's your experience with reliability over these four years? Any significant issues or repairs? I bought a secondhand CX5 2.0 litre frontwheel drive and it is exactly as you say in your review: it's not a sports car, but it's a great car for anything else. The 2.0 litre struggles a bit going uphill in the mountains at high speeds, but it nicely keeps the revs up and keeps you going (with the associated noise that comes with high revs). Other than that I'm very pleased with this CX5 model.

      Thank you so much for your comment. Owning the car for over four years was a pleasure. Never once did I have a check engine light or required any repairs other than general maintenance. Mazda engines are so reliable. I have owned 3 Mazdas with minimal repairs to keep them running. I'm sure you will have a great experience with yours. Thanks for watching.

    I bought my 2016 CX5 GT brand new fully loaded and I still drive it daily. Love love this car. Routine maintenance and upkeep has kept this car going strong at ~107k miles. Every time I get the urge to upgrade or get into a new car, I always conclude that it makes zero sense to do that being that this car is so great. I still get compliments on it which is odd for a car being 7 years old. I did get wired android auto upgrade back when it was released years ago and the wireless android auto via the adapter recently, installed larger offroading tires, a remote start (both mobile and keyfob based) to bring it up to date with more recent convenience updates and it's perfect. I feel this car can easily reach another 100k miles easily.

      I love the enthusiasm for this car. It really is a great car, and reliable as you know. It's awesome to hear the upgrades that you did too. I had paid for the Android Auto and Apple Car Play upgrade as well. It's worth it. Best of luck with the car.

      Yes. Certain years and trims were able to get Android Auto and Apple Car play added by Mazda after release. Thanks for watching and congrats on your car.

    Good review and excellent job. 0-60 in 8 seconds for a crossover is perfectly adequate though, certainly not awful

      Overall, the acceleration is not bad. Definitely not class leading though. As I mentioned in the video, it will do that really laggy acceleration which can be dangerous in certain situations. However, I was rarely concerned about acceleration in this vehicle. Thanks for watching.

    I agree with pretty much everything you said. I don’t like the transmission programming though. It seems to be tuned for fuel efficiency. I also think the CX-5 sounds like a vacuum cleaner when you are in high revs.

    • @TechMotoring
      @TechMotoring  Рік тому +1

      I agree. The transmission is a bit laggy, and sometimes it completely gets lost as to what you want it to do. Though most of the time it seems fine. Thanks for watching.

      Yes. Just got a 2015. Driving in mountains and curves it's almost mandatory to use manual shift. Its like it's racing to get to 6th no matter what. Ive seen it shift to 6th under 40 mph. My wife's Crv 5 speed just knows what gear to choose much better

    In May 2024, there is this exact model for sale near me for under $13K... because it has about 150,000 miles on it. I'm wondering how reliable this car is when it has that many miles on it. Any thoughts?

    • @TechMotoring
      @TechMotoring  Рік тому

      The camera has the lines to help guide you, but the lines do not move as you steer, like on some other brands. I believe the cost to install the Android Auto, Apple Carplay was about $300. Thanks for watching.
