Makes me wonder how nobody actually made a move for Guirassy this transfer window considering he cost 17.5 million. Gladly that clause is now expired.
everyone’s shegged by FFP currently
FFP is one issue, but another is that this is a new thing for him. He’s having a great season this season, but last season he scored 11 league goals, season before that he scored 9, season before that he scored 10. So 30 league goals in 3 seasons (86 league games) isn’t exactly a star clinical striker.
He’s having a great season this season of course, but is he a one season wonder? I know £17.5m is nothing but you have to factor in wages too, and a move to a big PL club brings inflated wages. Even if it’s £100k a week on a 3 year contract, that’s a burden of £17.5m on his transfer, god knows how much in agent fees, bonuses etc., and a guaranteed £15.6m in wages. So a minimum £33.1m outlay for a player who might end up being simply not good enough, who at 27/28 years old, won’t want to move on when he can sit on a bench for 3 years and leave at 30 with an extra £15.6m in his pocket.
That’s why nobody has taken that gamble
One-season wonders exist, clubs would be more convinced if they see him maintain that level for a longer time
He was nothing special until the last half a season I personally think less than 20 million is worth it but probably not many clubs wanting to risk it (reckon he will join manutd on deadline day though)
Apparently there was interest from smaller EPL clubs, but he wasn't interested
If they had 10 more points right now they would be above Spurs in 5th for anyone wondering
Cl spot
and Man United would be 14th
I was! Thanks. Now I don't have to look at the table 🎉
They would actually be 3rd/4th seeing as this assumes Arsenal loose to Chelsea (leaving them on 40p, 1 below Chelsea) and Villa draws with Chelsea (leaving them on 41 so it would depend on GD).
@@archiebuchan2563 this doesn't assume Arsenal loses to Chelsea lol
They’ve spent over £1 billion in transfer fees plus wages and still haven’t bought a striker.
The pronlem is they've bought like 10 strikers... for 2030.
@@kth6736They bought some forwards, but not strikers. Even Nicolas Jackson, who plays as a 9, was a winger.
@@Takkks they got a couple of Brazilian centre forwards. One guy from norway I think. Two english strikers on free. And Jackson started playing CF before moving to Chelsea. So at least 6 u21 strikers.
@@kth6736 That's why I said pure number 9
I feel like there’s just certain things teams should buy if they wanna be good. A good scorer would be one of them. Yeah, it doesn’t have to be a striker it could be a winger. But someone who can score. -a creative outlet. And some good defenders.
Like that’s the bare minimum but instead Chelsea just spent it on whoever for whatever price. Easily they could’ve bought a striker, 2 good midfielders, some good defenders and be fine.
Best part is? The guy known as a tactical magician went and bought a Norwegian goal scoring robot while everyone is still trying to turn their wing backs into number 9s
😂😂💀
Something about the camera angle and JJ sitting down is very disconcerting. JJ if you are in danger please blink twice and mention crabs in your next video.
I mention crabs a lot in all walks of life so I wouldn't take that as any indication of sanity
The shirt is not a flattering fit, but I suspect it’s made from a kilt.
Still having deluded obsessions on V.Osimhen again, forget it as he will not move to Chelsea, ridiculous!
7 goals with 11+ Xg is really bad😂😂
Even worse when you factor in that spurs game, where he basically had a hat-trick handed to him. I like him tho, think he’ll rebound and hit form.
And some people still try to defend Nicholas Jackson on social media 😂
@@Truebro79 As a chelsea fan, I said this a lot of times and they bullied me lol... Like bro, even havertz could perform better than him, he gets blank in front of goal.... We really need one of these players - Dybala, Osimhen or Benzema
@@alex0O0Orespectfully both havertz and Jackson are dreadful finishers, don't try to bring down jackson for havertz lol, havertz scored 7 goals from an xg of 13 last season for example, we also don't need dybala he's injury prone plus not a goalscorer
@@franalytics5995 I'd say we need Benzema or Osimhen
And Throw out our garbages... Paying any amount they want would be more justified than Caicedo and Mudryk's cases
Plus - Dybala Can Save us with his free kick abilities
Yeah I agree, Havertz is not needed for Pochettino's tactics as he fits more in Arteta's style
If my grandmother had wheels she would’ve been a bike
10 more points puts Chelsea 5th, above Spurs. But you also have to take into account that a draw vs Villa means Chelsea gain a point and Villa drop 2, so it actually looks even better for Chelsea
How about "what if chelsea had better owners?" 😂
Chelsea's track record of buying strikers hasn't been good which even led some to believe that the no. 9 is cursed in Chelsea.
Come on now, be fair to them. They can’t afford to splash out on a striker with their tiny budgets.
What if your team doesn't shoot when they should? That doesn't register xg. You could dominate a game and never pull the trigger - xg doesn't reflect that
You can look at the striker's touches in the Penalty box and then how often they shoot. If there's a huge contrast, it will mean that they are shy in front of the goal. Of course it's not 100% accurate and thus why stats alone do not work.
Jackson at Villarreal was a winger, not a striker, his creative numbers were miles ahead of his shooting. Despicable scouting to suggest he's a striker from Chelsea
damn lmao i thought he was arandom striker they picked up from a club. that explains so much lmao
Sure Chelsea would buy a proper striker and they would magically stop scoring anyway
Lewa has the worst -xG in the LaLiga and he is 0.2 WORSE than Jackson...
He will be eventually replaced by Roque won't?
Chelsea doesn’t buy players to be good sadly. It feels like they just wanna invest in a bunch of young kids to flip in the future
Chelsea will buy oshimen, guirassy, mbappe, harry kane, haaland, adebayor, benzema, heskey
Boehly still thinking that he is playing fifa
This is where xg stuff fails. If you watch games with your eyes you will know that Chelsea don't create enough chances to begin with. All those clinical strikers get at least 5 chances a game, while Jackson has been getting 3 or less a game. Once Chelsea fix their creativity problems then they can worry about getting elite strikers.
"He might turn out to be a great player "😂
3 of Jackson’s goals came in a 9vs 11 spurs too, so let’s not hype him up too much there 😂
This video has aged beautifully.
Keep in mind Lukaku was supposed to also solve our striking issue
Chelsea no. 9 curse is real!
But it's not just one player (Jackson) missing chances.
why does their kit always look weird in images?
They have one whisper 9
I still cant wrap my head around the fact they have one of the most clinical strikers in the world: Lukaku
We'd be millions of pounds worse off. Chelsea play like poo and strikers don't get sufficiently frequent high quality chances to convert with any real frequency.
Until the keepball stops we'll keep struggling in the final third
Are you guys switching from tifo irl?
They’ve gone through so many flops of strikers over and over that they should start looking at their recruiting strategy
How much better off would Chelsea be, if they just bought Premier League title? 🤔
This is such a generalized analysis 😂
That’s just not how it works. We generate a lot of chances just by the nature Jackson plays. As important as it is that a striker is clinical, how they fit in the team is just as important
Chelsea never has a good striker. We’ve always had issues there. If we had a solid striker for the last 20 years we would’ve challenged way more often
isnt Nkunku a striker?
XG is the biggest load of garbage. Only stat that matters is goals scored vs goals conceded.
Yes mate and you need to create chances to score goals don't you
Osihmen is the best number 9 right now
And a Napoli player… Still having deluded obsessions on V.Osimhen again, forget it as he will not move to Chelsea, ridiculous!
@@ThirdEye... Which is ur club then? Im sure there is something about them
Using the arsenal game where Chelsea outperformed xg doesn't make sense
Anyone who watched the game did feel like Arsenal were lucky to get a draw. You don't even need the stats.
@@madeupstory9510 I agree but the point of the video was how could a striker who at least matches his xg would have got Chelsea more points so it doesn't make sense to use a game which Chelsea outperformed xg anyway.
The striker market has been wank for last 5 years. Apart from Haaland and Kane no striker has found success at their new club. Look at nunez at liverpool 85m flop, arsenal got jesus yet they still want Toney, richarlison an even bigger disaster at spurs.
10 goals 10 assists this szn, is not a flop. He already scored more, than the whole of last season. He can improve, and is improving. Jota is better, than him tho.
Nuñez is only a flop by their standard.
Alvarez and Isak are doing very well.
@@madeupstory9510 alvarez has less goals than Jackson. 😂😂
Isak is a good shout. Still only 3 successful strikers though.
You mean players like lukaku?
He never stay loyal at any club, not even roma
Jackson is terrible and not improving, dude is more of a left attacker than a striker
@BIazy thing is though he don't care , havertz didn't care at all . These players today only play for money , will start playing better when new contract is on the line or spot for national team. Why you think we played so brilliant last few games ? Poch did nothing special.
Osihemen is not the answer
Osimhen is just not moving to Chelsea
Or xG is a bunch of bollocks
So Jackson is a great finisher?
Lakaka?
Osimhen is a lil wasteful
Haaland wasted the most big chances in the league last season. Yet, he is the best finisher in world football. Osimhen is very very good as well.
@@madeupstory9510 Based on their abilities across the span of their career, and translating that to the conversion of the chances that come their way, Halaand is more dependable to Osihmen.
If you feel your previous comment juxtaposes (Osimhen) to Haaland, it's a free world. Cheers.
Still having deluded obsessions on V.Osimhen again, forget it as he will not move to Chelsea, ridiculous! It’s a waste of time for him!
