Thanks for the review. Much appreciated!
No problem! Hope it helps in your purchasing decision!
Very nice review. Earned a subscriber.
Thanks a ton! Appreciate it!
A really nice review. Thanks for many details. I will catch the game.
Not a problem! Thanks for the comment. If you end up picking up the game, I hope that you enjoy it! It's not perfect, but it can be pretty fun.
I’ve had the jittery frames on the PS4 as well
do you need nintendo online to download players?
A very good question a d one I’m not too sure of. I’ve never NOT had NSO, so I can’t really say. - Danny
Hey man, really good job with the review. Been looking for a sports sim with a solid career mode which this one looks like it does. I just wanted to ask how does the game look graphically and perform in its present state? Has it improved with the later patches. I only have the Switch Lite so for me, gameplay will be only handheld. I'd really appreciate it if you could let me know.
Mahaan, thanks for the awesome comment. I really appreciate it! To be honest, it's been quite awhile since I booted this game up (I did this review about a year and a half ago) and the game has been archived from my system for months at this point. I haven't been back to it for awhile. Honestly, though, from my time with the game, performance really wasn't an issue at all. Things ran pretty well and the gameplay always felt pretty responsive. There's also a ton of user created content (players, stadiums, etc) so that was cool. The career mode is really cool. I was just starting to get into the swing of things (no pun intended) just as I had to move on to another video project. This is a deep, fun game that would be fun for sports sim fans. - Danny
@@TheFamicast Hey Danny, thanks for replying mate, and thanks a ton for the detailed feedback. Being a uni student, I can only buy one of the two and I'm toying between this and the Tokyo 2020 game.
It's the career mode in the former vs the light-hearted multi sport fun in the latter.
Have you played Tokyo 2020 by any chance? I really liked London 2012 and played it to bits back in the day.
what framerate does the game run at?
Thanks for the question! I believe it’s around 30. Sometimes the game does chug a bit. Not very often, though. It’s usually pretty solid.
The Famicast thanks buddy
No prob!
@@TheFamicast I've heard it's terrible?
@@jonathonsmith6831 You can check out the footage I have here and see what it runs like. It's not running at 60 fps or anything, but I didn't run into many problems. - Danny
I did not have the chance to play in docked mode yet, but i wanted to test motion control in undocked mode with the joycons in my hand and i was not able to aim. Only with the left stick. Does motion control only work in docked mode?
That’s a good question and something I didn’t have a chance to try out. I don’t see why it wouldn’t work in tabletop mode, but it’s possible they put in some kind of limitation. I don’t think I have the game downloaded on my Switch anymore so I can’t pop it in and check at the moment either. 😅 - Danny
@@TheFamicast I'll give an update as soon as i test it tomorrow. Thanks for answering so quickly. :)
No problem, Marco. Thanks for the comment. I look forward to the update! - Danny
Good minutes of infofun
Hi, just saw your video, could you please help me out with game controls? I'm playing on switch and can't figure out how to send the ball where I aim it at, and if I can play with standard controls in handheld mode (I don't know how to hit the ball then) might sound dumb but super frustrated with this
No worries! So, this is all from memory, but after initiating the serve, you have like one second to use the right analog stick to aim where you want the ball to go. You have to do it really quickly. It takes some getting used to but once you’ve got it locked down, you’ll find the matches way easier. You should be able to do something similar with stationary hits as well. Let me know if that helped! - Danny
The 2024 update is much better with motion control it has shake also now!
Hey man, Can this game be controlled with a Switch motion system?
Is it possible to use swing mode???
It is. But it’s honestly pretty poorly implemented and doesn’t feel good. - Danny
Can you use joy cons for this game?
You can. For motion control, though, it’s pretty bad. - Danny
How long is the career mode? Just 1 season?
At least one season, yeah. I played a decent amount for the review but I didn’t complete that mode. It could probably keep you busy for dozens of hours or more depending on your match settings (set, etc).
Hows the motion controls?
Not good. Nothing like how you expect them to be at any rate. I talk about it in the video but it’s definitely more fun to play with the standard controls imo. - Danny
I heard it's really laggy. Has the update sorted this?
I was playing around the launch of the game and only ran into minimal lag. I can only remember it happening a handful of times. - Danny
