I was going to leave a comment mentioning that either you had a very tiny head or Thom's is absolutely massive! I've been on a workshop with you, Simon, so I know your bonce is standard. I can only conclude TH's head is the size of a water melon :) Great video, by the way. We should visit the Lakes more often...
Always enjoy seeing Thomas and Simon together. And I like the 'A Photographer's View' series very much., and have put the Lake District on my 'must visit' list.
More! Enjoyed the banter between you two and the enthusiasm talking over each other to tell us about the best bits. A welcome change from the monologue.
The lakes are beautiful ! I have visited many times and can see this beautiful place across Garlieston bay where I live on a clear day over 35 miles away as the crow flies and about 130 driving! Keep up the great videos and a great inspiration!
I watch your videos weekly love them. Unfortunately, I will travel 17,000km from Sydney to the Lake District and will miss you by a week at the Rheged show, bugger!
Great video. Thanks for showing me what the lake district is all about. It appears to be a popular place and no one has ever explained it as well as you two - you two remind me to Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn.
Thank you for yet another incredibly inspiring vid! I became so excited when Simon Baxter jumped in! :D you guys are phenomenal! great info and tips, will sure to get a membership in the nationaltrust fond as well! Cheers! looking forward for more great colabs with you and Baxter! :)
Absolutely love this video! My favourite place in the lakes is Keswick and this gem has given me some fresh inspiration. Looking forward to the Northern Photography Show 👌
Honestly, you two together are like Ant and Dec, Morecombe and Wise, Simon and Garfunkel. Well, perhaps not the last one, lol. A great informative video guys injecting your wonderful humour. Nice one. Tony
Holy crap Thomas!! Fabulous series and your sophisticated video effects and presentation are awesome! I hope you can keep it up, maybe weekly? Thank you
Thanks ,Tom and Jerry.... Starskey and Hutch...... SAINT and Greavesy. Very informative and entertaining. Gonna try and get to photography show. 📸📷📷📸📸📷📸📷📽🎥📸📷📸📷
I drove from Scotland down to the lake district for your talk today at the Rheged Centre, it was great, loved the fact you worked at Celtic Park. Your an inspiration to all photographers. Wish my UA-cam channel would take off like yours, I need to up my game and start to vlog.
I have been ones at lakes it was amazing to be honest was not long ago I found the lonely tree! Great video definitely keep watching this channel! Thomas you are the first who I started follow on UA-cam and still the same perfect quality content in every videos!
I'm planning a trip to UK next year (not entirely for photography) and always wanted to stop by Lake District and enjoy it for some days at least. Your summary helped me a lot with my preperation, Thomas! Cheers and bye for now ;-)
Ha, ha! Two of my most favorite landscape photographers and workshop hosts! Enjoyed seeing the two of you talking about some of the places we visited during the workshop. I really like these "Photographer's Views," they are informal and informing. Brilliant job you two-cheers!
Great vlog Tom & how cool to see Simon , what a double act- you 2 are great. Love these 'Photographer's View' vids, so valuable :) Hope you do a few more. Absolutely adore Keswick & the Borrowdale valley, breathtaking views. Although, ALL of The Lake District is, very special place :)
Geography is fascinating! Thanks for putting in the effort to give us the map and aerial views in your discussions. I thought this was very fantastic. Well done Thomas!
Back in the lakes at the end of May. Personal favourite view is Fleetwith Pike and Buttermere, but Borrowdale is fantastic, and I’ll definitely try a few of these locations!
Holy crap, my two favorite photographers in one video. Awesome video and amazing images. I hope to see more of the both of you together soon. Keep up the great work.
I often wonder if we have something akin to the Lake District in the states. (Meaning an area with so much in a compact area). When I find it, I will for sure make a video about it! Thanks for the great info Thomas and Simon.
Couldn’t agree more. I go on a Photography trip staying in the Caravan Park in Keswick - just me and my dog every Feb and October. Don’t care how cold or rainy it is and I’ll take it any day over a crowded beach in Spain :)
I am enjoying your new series and it was extra enjoyable having Simon join you, however I never see any videos from my home Canada. We seem to be the somewhat under appreciated cousin of the UK that no-one whats to visit, just kidding. Excellent video as usual and I hope you can make to Canada sometime. That goes for Simon as well.
Two great inspirational photographers.. Good to see you both. Im off to Keswick in Augs with the Mrs, and as Thomas would say "Its not a photography trip" however my camera will be coming with me. Great info there gents, thats really helped me plan as to where to take the mrs :), and the camera ;)
Loved it guys. I'm lucky enough to live on the eastern edge of the Lake District and get to photograph it every weekend but you mentioned a couple of locations that even I didn't know about and need to check out so thanks for that. I'll shall try to get to the show in May, it'll be a good opportunity to meet up with a few of my UA-cam buddies.
seeing a guest photographer im just expecting these two lovely, gorgeous gentlemen to say nothing but lovely gorgeous words to describe the landscape in the places that they went XD
Thanks Thomas and Simon!! I'm so glad that you have done this info episode about the Lakes District! We are traveling from Australia to Europe for 6 weeks and I planned to get to the Lakes in October for 3 1/2 days. Great insights and information so I can make the most of my limited time there. Keep those information sessions coming!! Hope I can get some good images when there!
Love this video ! Would love to see more of these in depth location reviews. Im in Australia but i hope to one day explore and photography the motherland.
Excellent video and because I live in Atlanta, I would never know of these awesome spots if you two had not described them! This video was a treat since you both are such amazing photographers! Thanks! I hope I experience these areas this coming Autumn!
I'm loving these! Now when you reccomended to start early there is going to be plenty people about during sunrise, no parking to be found :) hehe . You two make a good team!
I’m really liking these A Photographer’s View videos. My biggest regret about moving back to Canada from the UK last year was that I never got to see the Lake District. I was in Guildford and never had the opportunity to make it up north. One day I’ll return, and thanks to you guys I know where I’ll head to now. At least for the moment I have Banff National Park here in Alberta to satisfy my landscape photography needs - Moraine Lake, Lake Louise, kananaskis country, etc. Thomas, have you ever thought about coming to Canada for landscape photography? I think you would enjoy the scenery. Please keep these videos up. They are terrific. Cheers.
Lakeland, home of Adam Karnacz, I would love to see you teaming up with him, maybe next time :) Not to forget Albert Wainwrights c2c and Julian Bradbury :) Welcome to the team!
I am glad you mentioned mobility isues. Its easy when your a spring chicken, but I am limited in the distance i can walk, so such information is good .Thank you. I do love the lake distirct just need to leave the wife behind. so i can enjoy the walk lol.
Ahhhh wish you guys produced this before I went to the Lake District! Nonetheless a really great and informative video. Loving the photographers view series!
travelled 3 times to the lake district, did the skiddaw, scafell pike true honnister pass but my favorite was the hay stacks. Used the Wainwright guide book great and nise souvernire. Stayed at the Pepper family in Keswick. Great hiking depending on the wheather.
Great discussion. Since immigrating, it is the Lake District (and real ale) I miss the most. I was not aware that they are now charging to park at trailheads. A great introduction to the Lake District is the Cumbria Way which goes from Ulverston to Carlisle. The last time I hike that was in the late 1990s. Apart from the first day, it was sunny and hot (25+ degrees). This was July. The only people I saw along the way was the occasional farmer and one to two sheep (well ok, one or two million sheep). It is an easy walk that should take about 6 days. Thanks once again for a great video and for making me feel homesick.
Love Borrowdale! If you need a hotel, check out the Royal Oak in Rosthwaite. A homely feel with great traditional food and a dedicated drying room for wet clothes! I've been for years and it's always a great stay.
Great video. I was at Derwent water for the first time last week and wish I'd seen this video before hand. Such a nice place even just walking around the lakeside
Wish you made this 3 weeks ago :) all the places I actually didn't go (minus Keswick, best advice! Staying in Ambleside might be next for me) but good excuse to come back for round 2. Kept looking at Catbells from Surprise View (which was also easy and awesome.. plus you get Ashness Bridge and the crazy drive up to Watendlath) but never got there. Made the drive out to Buttermere which was an exciting mountain drive and walked to both lakes as well. Where do you buy your photo gear locally? I needed a new tri pod head and my girlfriend needed more memory cards so we had to make a day trip out to Kendal to the one photo store in town. Probably could have found a good enough memory card in Keswick (post office was recommended) but there were no photo accessories to be found.
Nice to see you two hanging out. You make a good team.
3-way collab? ;-)
Shine a tree into the air and Baxman & Meg will come running.
Lake District was just so beautiful! Definitely, a place I want to explore more! :)
Looking forward to the videos Mads
Woodland!!! YES!! That little chair makes me look very small and why do I keep pouting? :P
Excellent chat 😀
I kept thinking we were going to see Meg pop into the frame. Nice to see you two corroborating on a video.
Yeah I was wondering if I’d signed up to go on a workshop with a miniature photographer
I was wondering that when I was watching!!! lol I think TH gave you the joke chair so he could try and look more important :D
Always enjoy seeing Thomas and Simon together. And I like the 'A Photographer's View' series very much., and have put the Lake District on my 'must visit' list.
You make a great double act . You should do more . It’s brilliant . Well done guys 👍
I think they do workshops, which might be coming again soon. surprise!
More! Enjoyed the banter between you two and the enthusiasm talking over each other to tell us about the best bits. A welcome change from the monologue.
